Another noobie with another stupid question
Rubberduck replied to Mac10's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
WOW! i had tornado on my Amiga!! was awesome, one of my favorite missions was bombing a power station with retarded bombs, screaming across the landscape at 500 miles an hour with burners lit, tfr on and wings fully swept back at 150 feet awesome!! RE HOTAS Warthog Maplins are doing them for £279.99 with free delivery, back in stock too... http://www.maplin.co.uk/hotas-warthog-flight-system-for-pc-677642 -
Matz, and everybody else, if you want to use the pinkie paddle as a modifier you have to add it as such. When you go into options to change the commands there is a modifier button, if you then click on that it lists the modifiers available, such as LCNTRL, RSHIFT ect, there is an option to add a modifier, click this then operate the pinkie paddle, bingo your pinkie paddle is now a modifier and when you change commands with this pressed it appears in the modifier box and your command in the command window. It's how I set my HAT on the warthog up as trim but POV with the pinkie paddle, I have also set up the throttle button as a cancel master caution with the pinkie paddle and also reset tTRIM is pinkie paddle and weapon release. Disconect and reconnect to the usb, same with the lead in between the throttle and stick. Then recheck the properties, see if this has cured it. You can wiggle the connection lead between the throttle and stick and see if there is a loose connection either on the hardware or in the cable. you can purchase new cables too, can't remember what they are called but I did read someone got one but it was 6ft long lol. A bit of rudder helps and be smoothe on the controls turtle. I must say that my write offs have reduced significantly since getting the Hotas Warthog as my landings have been a lot better. Just seems to respond a lot better to my inputs. -

best warthog description so far online
Rubberduck replied to snafup's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
sounds like a video recorder instruction booklet I had once, translated direct from Japanese, made interesting reading.... -
When I hit DTS upload all, the dots disappear from the info on the screen then once they reappear as far as I know it is loaded?

Lower Rudder Sensitivity on X-52 Pro
Rubberduck replied to hachiman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
fine tune the axis, from the options menu. You can add a curve which has a graduated movement so you can have less sensitivity nearer the deadzone, and more movement to the rudder from larger pedal deflections. Any good? HTH -
T.Hotas Warthog VS X52 pro what to buy
Rubberduck replied to cyprus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You could assign the slide control to the rudder until you get pedals.... -
Well looks like its possible through target but its very confusing and when you use target you have to use it for all commands and it loses the plug and plug function within DCS, looks like a long term project to lkearn target and write a full script lol.
-
YEP! I am going to have a look see if anything can be done in target.....
-
Thank you arctic, thats what I was meaning. I was actually thinking of speedbrake, would be really handy if you could use all five as 20% lights, coming on progressivley as the speedbrake extends...
-
In options, the controls, I deleted all the trim functions and the view functions then reassigned the trim functions, and as I have no track IR yet I reassigned the view functions to the same hat but added the unassigned stick pinkie switch as shift button, works fine. HTH

And you can change the intensity of the LED's too through TARGET. Just wondered if anyone used them for anything, it would appear not lol

In the Market For a Hotas Warthog?
Rubberduck replied to Rubberduck's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Back in stock now guys according to the link... -
Guys the five LED's below the friction wheel can be turned on or off, can you use them/program them for an indication or something within the sim? If so what do you use them for?
-
My record was 6 in one 2 hour session, trying some low level valley flying before my rig was able to handle the game properly, i stuttered my way into a few mountains lol.

T.Hotas Warthog VS X52 pro what to buy
Rubberduck replied to cyprus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The main flick switches on the throttle will only be used on start-up/shutdown and emergencies. Apart from the autopilot alt alt/path switch which you may use in flight. If you just flick the switch with your finger they are fairly loud, but I would say not enough to disturb anyone. The other way to operate them is to hold the toggle rather than flick it, which reduces the noise, as you are not letting the spring in the toggle switch control the motion. The rest of the hats and switches are nigh on silent in operation. HTH -
T.Hotas Warthog VS X52 pro what to buy
Rubberduck replied to cyprus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I bought the X52 and pedals at the same time, so now use the Warthog and saitek pro flight pedals. HTH -
Just a heads up for the UK guys(don't think they ship internationally). Just got mine from Maplins, they are selling them for £279.99 with free delivery, cheapest I have seen apart from the odd second hand ones on the bay of Eness. I think they are out of stock ATM(think I grabbed the last one :music_whistling:) But you can put a stock alert on it..... It's a push button above and left of the throttle quadrant, you press it and it lights up the panel above. If you still have trouble run the startup tutorial and they show it on there. HTH

Thanks for the welcome guys:thumbup: Count on it Matz, atm if you want to know anything about ejecting and parachuting, well, let me know. Lets just say I'm glad I'm not paying for these write offs.... lol haven't done that yet
