thank you Razorback [nl], Samek, and Syntaxerror for your help. I was able to start the huey with the instructions and the Home button. I just ignored 17.b and it started just like the real thing.
-
The one you refer to in the screenshot, is that 17a fuel switch or is it 17b start fuel switch? Your instructions refer to 2 switches, 17a and 17b. Or am I misreading. Now that I have gone back over everything I can't seem to find 12. smoke gage either. But I'm not worried about that because it is not a switch.

You mention in step 17. b. START FUEL switch -ON, just where is that switch located, I cannot find it anywhere nor can I find the ignition key lock switch, or the start switch. I have looked and looked and cannot find these items.

fixed UN Pilot Campaign - Mission #6 "Patrols"
Turtle47 replied to Trainzak's topic in UN Pilot Included Campaign
OK, Lizzard, did exactly like you explained, went to mission editor, opened mission file, then clicked on the little icon on left margin that opened the window where you change the 50 to 100, then clicked on save (upper left) won't let me exit back to anywhere, a box pops up that gives 3 options, save to exit, no (unsaved changes will not be saved), or cancel. Will only let me click no or cancel. Have tried "save as", clicked on the disc icon, everywhere there is a place to try and save any changes, I have done all those and it continues to give me the box with the 3 choices when I try to exit the mission editor. When I try mission 7, we run in and fire rockets, then the leader and the other 2 choppers go into a hover at about 600ft near the friendly in the trees. at that point I try to hover with them and lose power and crash every time. I just want to bypass this mission and move on. -

Mine locked too, won't let me save and return to campaign window unless I hit the "no" key when it asks to save to exit the mission. -

Lizzard, I finally got the missions to load that you posted for #6-7. Now I just have to stop crashing when I land. Thanks for all the help. -
fixed UN Pilot Campaign - Mission #6 "Patrols"
Turtle47 replied to Trainzak's topic in UN Pilot Included Campaign
Can anyone explain to me how to skip a mission in the campaign? I have tried downloading Lizzard's fix file, and deleted the old file then copy and pasted new file as instructed, and the friggin thing still flies a figure 8 pattern over the farp. I even got frustrated enough to try and shoot the leader down and the damn thing won't let that happen either. I was dead on top of him and saw the rounds hit his chopper and do nothing, nada, nyet, nuttin. -

Excuse me for being ignorant, but just how do you get these attached files to game? I have saved them to my computer, and they appear in my downloads file but if I try to open them, I get an error message. I have also tried to go to the mission editor and eliminate the landing near the first waypoint, but it won't let me save the change. The other thing I cannot figure out is I have seen that some of you have skipped 6 and 7. Just how do I go about doing that as well? -
You will want to buy the P51 as well

I have the same problem, smooth until I get close to the boom, then I'm all over the place. I'm thinking it has to be turbulance from the tanker. I have resigned myself to use the unlimited fuel option.

Word of caution about using Active Pause, just be aware, the only thing that pauses in Active Pause is your plane's forward movement. SAMS, enemy planes, AAA, etc all continue in the sim. I have been taken out several times while in active pause mode trying to find a target or while performing some other function. However, I must say, utilizing Active Pause has taken some of the frustration out while learning this sim. Whoever created AP was a saint. :joystick: AP=

What to do when you complete a mission in a campaign
Turtle47 replied to Turtle47's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Yes, I understand that if my mission calls for me to provide support to 2 armor platoons, that if one of them gets killed, my mission was not successful. What I don't understand is really 2 questions. If, I killed everything on the screen that was a threat, how can one or both of the elements not survive to make it to the objective? Second question is, what do I do once I RTB? Just hit esc and end the mission, or rearm/refuel/repair, then esc and quit? My original question turned into a broader question than I had intended. I sort of got on a roll/rant. -
OK, I'm into my 23rd mission in my first campaign. I have noticed different things are happening in some of the missions. Sometimes I see a text message appear near the upper right portion of the screen that tells me mission objectives have been achieved and RTB. Most of the time I'm too wrapped up in what's going on and I miss this message until I review the mission in replay mode. If I have 2 elements of armor moving to a new objective, even though when I went RTB after killing everything visible near the elements, I hear a radio message or see a text message telling me one of the elements has failed and therefore the mission has failed, and when I click next mission, I have to fly same mission again. Sometimes, I do the same thing and everything is fine, and I get a new mission????? Whenever I have caught the "Mission objectives achieved text", I RTB and land. But that's when I'm not sure what I'm really supposed to be doing. After I see the text, should I RTB or call for additional tasking? Should I land and rearm/refuel/repair? If I have no damage, do I really need to shut down engines or just idle and wait for rearm/refuel, then request takeoff and call for tasking and return to the battle? Here is what I THINK I'm supposed to do. Follow the waypoints and kill just the items in my target area, then fence out and call for additional tasking depending on ammo and fuel left. Then do whatever I'm told. If and when I RTB, after landing, get refueled and rearmed, then shut down engines and open canopy and get out or just end the mission. I have in some missions asked for additional tasking and have been told to RTB at times, and have also been given tasks at times. But sometimes I have just RTB'd and ended mission. Sometimes when I go to next mission, I get same mission to do over, sometimes I get a new mission. Never seems to be any rhyme or reason why either way. I'm CONFUSED!!!

Very nice work. Thanks a bunch. This will help a lot.

Yes, thank you for the assistance. :D

computer said I had no files with that name. It's OK, it seems it only did it during that one mission. I have flown 4 or 5 missions past that one and it has not done it since. Go figure. Thanks for the help anyway.

Here is a little more info: In the gameplay settings I have checked Radio Assists and Easy Communications. I have not saved any of the tracks from the messed up missions, and I really wouldn't have any idea how to save a portion of one of these tracks, and don't know how to attach the track to my post here. The problem does not start until many minutes into the mission. I assume you save the track to a file and then attach the file to the forum post. And, I appologize to anyone I might have offended on here. I thought I was asking a simple question and I ended up a little frustrated by Sven telling me repeatedly that I wasn't giving anything he could use to assist me. He needs to realize that not everyone that buys this sim is a computer genius (like him evidently) and some of us respond better to simple questions better than hidden questions. I, nor anyone else, appreciates being belittled in a public forum. Again, I appologize for my behavior. :helpsmilie:

Why did you not ask for my system info in the first response instead of the riddles????? Windows 7 Intel ® Core Z quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz Ram 8 gb 64 bit NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT Intel ® 82566DC-2 gig network connection This is what you should have said in your first post: "We need to know your system info before we can assist you with your problem." Instead, you posted a riddle. Then more riddles, then you started getting nasty. This is what I wanted to say in response: ( Why didn't you just ask for my system information instead of being a big D__k ? And about right now Sven, you have now pi$$ed off several other folks here and I really don't care if I ever get any assistance from you for my problem. ) But I won't say any of that. I'll just say thank you for any help you might offer and I sincerely hope I didn't offend you in my previous post.

OK Sven, I hate to sound like a smarta$$, but I thought I explained what was happening pretty well. But obviously not. So here goes again and a little slower this time. Whenever the wingman, AWACS, tower, etc sends a radio messgae, the TEXT for that audio appears at the top left of the computer monitor. That TEXT usually only stays there for several seconds, and as you get newer messages, the previous messages start going away. That is, NORMALLY they disappear. Now, ALL the TEXT messages stay on the screen and eventually cover almost the entire left side of the screen and makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see through the windshield of the AIRCRAFT. They do however, go away when you call the tower on final approach. Then when you land, they reappear. I have Easy radio comms selected in the gameplay options.
-
All of a sudden over the weekend during a campaign mission, all my radio text that shows on the left side of screen has began remaining on the screen filling the screen with this babble and makes it very difficult to see anything else. It sometimes goes away when I RTB and start chatting with the tower. Then when I land, it returns. It has happened about 4 times now. Did I inadvertantly change something or is this a common bug???

Maybe just limited success... but YES!!!
