Thanks for all the great advice. I have been following the same path as MatzWarhog. Read, read, read, watch tutorials out the ying yang, go try some of the stuff, fly the training missions over and over again, but some things are still a little frustrating. I belive in practice, practice, practice, and lots of research. The reason I singled out slewing the mavs was that I still have not mastered moving the reticle and keeping it in the Hud. It seems to slide off the side of the Hud and stays there for what seems like forever, then all of a sudden, it shoots across the Hud and I have control of it again. But, afetr I reassigned some of my buttons and used the modifiers as instructed, I can keeep it in the Hud a little better now. It always happens after I fire a mav and turn hard away from the target area to avoid the AAA and sams. I was switching to active pause and cheating a little to clear the areas of the bad stuff. I really do appreciate the help, and this sim is outstanding.
I flew Janes USAF and would almost exclusively try to use the A10 in any missions that allowed it. Then I got Falcon 4.0 and flew hundreds of hours in it. Janes F15 and also Janes WWII. I was an Operations NCO for several years for a National Guard Engineer unit, and there is an air to ground range here at the base. I have watched A10s, F4s, A7s, and F16s do there thing there for years. The A10s have always impressed me the most. I have sat in the tower at the range and watched closeup as the A10s appear out of nowhere and brrrrrrrppppp 2-3 different targets and then disappear behind a hill only to reappear a few minutes later in a totally new area and drop a smoke round right on target, brrrrrrppppp another target or 2 and disappear again. You are so close to the planes, you can see the pilot wave as they pass by the tower. Cool as all get out.
