  1. I have not seen air refueling mission in the training. Am I missing something? Or is that something you have to create a mission for yourself? Same thing with carrier landings and takeoffs. I read about it and see it in some vids, but have not seen any training missions for them.
  2. I have my eject assigned to a button on my joystick and it works sporadiccally. I think I might have found the key to that, went out of campaign mode and flew a quick mission, got hit by a SAM and hit the eject button 3 times and ejected to safety.
  3. Thanks, I will try all that.
  4. OK, I've seen a lot of talk and heard a lot of talk on vids on getting the ground crew to do repairs. So can someone explain to me how to accomplish this? I have jumped into a campaign, and made it through 5 missions without getting killed. Now I got all shot up trying to kill 3 T72s with the gun and some cluster bombs to no avail. Did manage to kill 1 T72 with the gun while getting all shot up. Eject would not work, now my canopy is gone and something is wrong with right engine. All I can figure out to get the ground crew to do is rearm and refuel and ground power. I limped all the way back to base, and then couldnt figure out how to make repairs.
  5. And just how do I go about making a server????
  6. I bought a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for $38. It works for me for now, but I can see that I want the $400 Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog stick and throttle in the near future.
  7. Thanks for all the great advice. I have been following the same path as MatzWarhog. Read, read, read, watch tutorials out the ying yang, go try some of the stuff, fly the training missions over and over again, but some things are still a little frustrating. I belive in practice, practice, practice, and lots of research. The reason I singled out slewing the mavs was that I still have not mastered moving the reticle and keeping it in the Hud. It seems to slide off the side of the Hud and stays there for what seems like forever, then all of a sudden, it shoots across the Hud and I have control of it again. But, afetr I reassigned some of my buttons and used the modifiers as instructed, I can keeep it in the Hud a little better now. It always happens after I fire a mav and turn hard away from the target area to avoid the AAA and sams. I was switching to active pause and cheating a little to clear the areas of the bad stuff. I really do appreciate the help, and this sim is outstanding. I flew Janes USAF and would almost exclusively try to use the A10 in any missions that allowed it. Then I got Falcon 4.0 and flew hundreds of hours in it. Janes F15 and also Janes WWII. I was an Operations NCO for several years for a National Guard Engineer unit, and there is an air to ground range here at the base. I have watched A10s, F4s, A7s, and F16s do there thing there for years. The A10s have always impressed me the most. I have sat in the tower at the range and watched closeup as the A10s appear out of nowhere and brrrrrrrppppp 2-3 different targets and then disappear behind a hill only to reappear a few minutes later in a totally new area and drop a smoke round right on target, brrrrrrppppp another target or 2 and disappear again. You are so close to the planes, you can see the pilot wave as they pass by the tower. Cool as all get out.
  8. My wife just does not understand why anyone would spend $400 to play a game as she calls it. Didn't help matters when she bought the A10C for me, then my old computer would not run the sim, so I had to shell out $350 for a new, custom built computer, then had to fork out another $40 for the joystick. She knows I got a deal on the computer, but is still keeping the purse strings a little tight for now. I'm working some overtime at work, and I can probably convince her that that money should be my play money. Just have to be patient. Thanks to all for the quick reponses.
  9. Have been flying A10c for about 3 weeks now using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, keyboard, and mouse. I have found it very frustrating trying to look at the screen while slewing with the keyboard and the keys are just not setup properly with the up key offset from the other 3. I find myself hitting another key many times. Is it possible to assign those tasks to the 4 keys on top of the joystick? Another question for those with the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog setup. Did it make it less frustrating using the Thrustmaster setup versus the setup I am using for those that started out with a similar setup as mine?
  10. I'm right there with you D. I have had A10C for a week and a half now and after going thur my first 9 lives, I finally bought a small notebook with tabs to make notes on the different functions and that has helped me considerably. I used to fly A10s in Janes USAF back 2 or 3 computers ago, but the 2 don't compare. The USAF was great back in the day, but the realism in A10C is outstanding. I watch A10s up close and personal several times a week actually bombing and strafing at an air to ground range on the base where I work. I know what an impressive machine the A10 is and have been facinated with them since the late 70s when I saw my first one in the air. This is the closest I'll ever get to being a Hog driver.
