Hello all. I'm having problems with CBUs 105 and GBU-31s not releasing. Best I can tell, everything is set up correctly. Any ideas as to why this is? Thanks for your help.

Thanks so much. How do you guys learn all this stuff when I'm fighting to learn the sim?

Somehow I've lost the Georgian Hammer campaign. Also, a couple of others aren't showing up on the campaign page even though I've placed them in the campaign folder. Do I need to reinstall the sim to get it back? What can I do to make the other campaigns show up? Thanks Bill

Blooze, I had a great time last night. Thanks for your and Jack's patience and all your help. I look forward to many enjoyable hours flying with you guys. I just took my PC to the shop. A couple of days ago, I began having problems opening applications. They simply wouldn't open. I googled it and it's not an uncommon problem. I tried everything I know and read online and nothing worked. I'm taking it to the shop today. I hope it won't take more than 2-3 days. Maybe my throttle board will be in by then. I'll try to connect to TeamSpeak this afternoon. Bill

Thank you so much, guys. I checked all the links you posted and they sound like just what I need.

Hello, all I'm a rank beginner with A-10C and want to come up on the learning curve. I was wondering if their is someone there willing to give private instruction? I'd be willing to pay, of course. Also, I'm looking for a squadron that's beginner friendly. I'm plowing through the tutorials, again, and re-reading the manual. The learning process is very slow. In addition to here, I can be reached at barbebill@icloud.com. I would appreciate any and all help. Thanks in advance. Bill Krull

Interactive Introduction to A-10C Training
bkrull replied to AFAlinebacker42's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Sounds like a great thing. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to put this on. -
Great advice everyone. Thanks. I do fly with a good, newbie-friendly group: TAW DCS Division. I've learned a lot there. http://taw.net They are on TeamSpeak at ts.taw.net. They have an extensive training program for novices like me. Thanks again for your help.

I've completed the training missions in DCS A-10C-I've done them several times each--and now I'm wondering what to start learning next. I've got the basics of weapons delivery down and can handle the aircraft fairly well, even though I need to improve my skills and experience in that arena. I'm interested in learning how to work with JTAC, CDU, UFC and TAD--creating and entering markpoints and waypoints--all that. Is this the right place to go next or is there something else? Where do I start--are there any "back to basics" tutorials online or in the .pdf format? In what order should I start? I've watched countless videos and while they are all good, it seems that there's always a gap--something I don't know that the video assumes I know. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, bkrull

I hate to be a whiner about what is arguably the best combat sim made. I've enjoyed learning DCS' A-10C Warthog immensely. It has a steep learning curve that has been made steeper by the various issues I've had (and, from reading the forums, a lot of other people have experienced). And throughout this process, not a peep from DCS Customer Service. I really don't think the people at DCS understand that DCS keeps old customers happy and coming back and new customers flocking in. It's all about customer service, baby. I must be dumb, though, or an exception to the rule, because I now have every DCS module. I've experienced bugs in every one. My more major issues include: * I can't contact JTAC and now, even worse, ATC or AWACS or my Flight. In short, I have no radio communications . . .period. That's frustrating since I've been unable to learn how to enter coordinates in the CDU and other stuff I've watched in the YouTube videos. * Often, when I'm on a takeoff roll or landing or about to destroy my first bridge, the screen will zoom in all the way. All I can see is a few UFC keys. Makes for some interesting landings. My wingies have a vested interest in me getting this bug fixed since I've knocked them out of the game once or twice. * Sometimes in the middle of the flight, the sim will quit communicating with my keyboard--a Corsair that works perfectly in all other applications. Fortunately, I do have a HOTAS setup. * Really frustrating is the fact that about a third of the time, sitting on the runway, weapons set up and radio frequencies tuned (why, I don't know since they don't work) all fired up and ready to rock and roll, I'll shove the throttles all the way and . . . nothing. The engines thunder away but the plane just sets there. Has anyone experienced any of these bugs? Does anyone know of any fixes? I hate to be a whiner but the radio problem is a major issue. I've uninstalled and re installed DCS World about five times now. And did I mention CUSTOMER SERVICE????? Thanks for letting me vent. By the way, when is the next module coming out so I can go buy it????? Bill Krull

TAW wants YOU. Regardless of your skill level, the TAW DCS Division of The Art of Warfare (TAW), invites all pilots—from rookies to aces—to join one of the fastest-growing and most stable virtual flying wings. The growth-oriented wing got off the ground in 2005 and has seen significant growth in numbers, quality and experience. With over 20 members, we host missions that incorporate all of the DCS aircraft. In fact, we just started a helicopter-specific squadron. We especially welcome rookies with minimal or zero experience. The flight sim gurus consistently agree that joining an online virtual squadron is the fastest, most thorough means of going from Rookie to Ace in Digital Combat Simulations aircraft—the most complicated, in-depth and realistic sims in the virtual flying universe. The TAW DCS Division is nearing completion of the expansion and redesign of its already extensive training program. With at least 50% of time spent on further progressing skills, training lessons with an experienced Instructor Pilot range from the basics to formation flying to precision bombing. We fly three nights a week—in practice flights and real-time missions. In addition to the increasing rookie ranks, we have a solid core of veterans with skills unparalleled in the combat flight community. Our veterans’ cadre has experienced a major growth surge in its ranks. We’re committed to growth, continuous improvement and everyone having a great time. Join us today. Here’s how to join or get more information: Website— http://taw.net/ (look for the Horizon Division) Or by e-mail to: TAW DCS Commanding Officer: Executive Officer Insignia at Insignia@taw.net TAW DCS Head of Recruiting: Staff Officer Harryward at Harryward@taw.net TeamSpeak server: ts.taw.net We look forward to hearing from you.

I saw this on Lock-On files and thought it pretty interesting: DCSWorld community lack of traction ... Posted by Tom_Weiss , 15 September 2013 · 202 views LOF lack of traction ... When you have been around for as long as I in the Flight Sim community, and I haven´t been around that long, there are people I know who have been for at least 5-6 years more, you start to guesstimate accurately the traction a release has, by traction I mean the time a product has until it starts to lose steam in a geometrical rate. It is also easy to gauge this by the number of downloads a skin I make get over a period of time, this is a practical measure so long as the quality of the skins (good or bad) holds constant. A good example is the DCS WWII kickstart - it is 10 days since it started with 20 to go, with a creditable 76% of its goal achieved. If all that DCS WWII wanted to achieve was that - $100k, it would have been great. But that is not the aim, the aim is to achieve the stretch goals and fund the project to at least this goal $375,000 Everything at the previous level, plus: A flyable Boeing B-17 Normandy map extended to include Southern England which is where I hope it will get , although my guesstimate is that it will only reach $150k if things remain as they are. I wonder why this is so - maybe it is because the flight sim community as a whole, by that I mean the DCS flight community, has lost its once considerable traction, once you strip its numbers to its core, there are not that many people around to support an ambitious kickstart as DCS WWII.

TAW is recruiting The Art of Warfare (TAW) is a vast community of gamers consisting of 2,400+ members over dozens of games. As of recently, Digital Combat Simulator has been added to that list of great games. The TAW 82nd Fighting Group is now recruiting members for all modules of DCS World except for P-51. We are currently a small group of dedicated individuals and we're hoping to gain more members to expand our DCS division. We are very knowledgeable in several of the DCS World Modules and hope that new members can share their experience and knowledge with us. We're also seeking an experienced mission maker with the skills to craft in-depth and realistic missions and training exercises. We host organized weekly events using multiple modules to accomplish tasks. We use TeamSpeak 3 to communicate on one of the most-popular TS3 servers in the world. Our training program, exclusively for TAW members, teaches all aspects of DCS allowing anyone with any level of skill and any amount of experience to join us and further advance their skills as a pilot. Our members are not limited to one module as they get to choose which aircraft they fly at our weekly events. With an organized structure, leadership is strong and well-developed. Our members are caring and devoted to further enrich all other members of not only TAW DCS, but other TAW members. Joining TAW not only means getting to fly with TAW DCS, it means that you are now allowed to join any other TAW event hosted by any other TAW division at any time; you are granted access to one of the top 10 TeamSpeak servers in the world, and granted access to a thriving community on TAW.net. We are currently creating missions for, and setting up, a dedicated server so that potential members can see how we set up our play, and conduct our missions. You can email me using the email provided below, or find me on teamspeak to ask any questions about TAW or TAW DCS. Want to see what we're all about? Come join us as a guest for one of our weekly events by emailing me and reserving a slot! Hope to see you in the fight!
