  1. Hey, I'm looking for an A-10 squadron ideally based in the UK/EUR (for timezone/ping reasons). I see a lot of US based ones but UK seems a bit thin on the ground. The ones I have found aren't actively recruiting. Can probably do 1-2 hours several times a week (starting on or around 9-10pm UK time), preferably more at the weekends. Haven't done MP before on this sim but did a lot of on FSX via a virtual airline. I'm now fairly comfortable with most of the systems on the aircraft so I'm not a complete noob - however, still plenty to learn - especially the MP aspects/brevity/SADL etc.. I'm not interested in goofing around on a server blowing stuff up randomly etc.. Instead, I want to learn the correct procedures for successfully executing a mission with real people instead of AI etc.. PM or reply with a link if anyone has any free slots available. Cheers.
  2. The problem I see with this is that you'd then start to lose fidelity - from your point of view you were sure you had made a hit but from the other opponents point of view you had a miss due the reduced amount of information passed over. I'm sure the dev's already have a lot of optmisation tricks they are using but as Wag's says, the sheer increase in the volume of data is causing stability issues. I'm wondering if, as an interim position, they could release a filtered version of MP - i.e. restrict the theatre to only allow a subset of similar modules to work together (e.g. A10/KA's + AI or FC3 + AI) rather than try to mix the whole lot together.
  3. Thanks for the replies guys - @jib - I use JTAC without issues, I'm practicing picking up opportunistic targets from the general radio chatter. @PhoenixBvo - I'm using a saved quick start mission. The only tweak I made to it was adding ground vehicles to my start location to allow re-arm etc.. The bullseye is directly on top of my start position - I wonder if I've messed it up inadvertently. I'll check on that tonight. @FreeFall - Latest version 1.2.2
  4. Hey, I must be doing something wrong - I've got my CDU set up in the offset page, change the mode to Bullseye, punch in the callout (e.g, Tally armour at 240 for 15 as 240015). Allocate a new steer/way point for it, switch over to 'Mission' steerpoints. I then set my HUD to SOI, DMS up/down to the steer point just created, TMS aft long to set it as my SPI and then slew all sensors to it. The SP 'looks' legit (in the sense that it's within range and in the right direction etc..) However, when I take a look via the TGP I see absolutely nothing in that area. In fact, I've done this a dozen times and I've yet to find a single target using these callouts, any ideas? Also, one question on brevity - when I hear 'Kill armour at xxxx' is he giving me a command or notifying me of an action he's done? Cheers.
  5. Played dozens of missions and I've only had one crash in SP in 1.2.2. After an hour long CAS, RTB'ing and saw an opportunistic target (trucks), went in for the kill and it froze during the attack. Frustrating but as a whole from my point of view not too bad considering the complexity of this sim. As a general rule I shutdown a lot of unecessary services before I start any of my sim's (I have a batch file that I just run). But that's mainly for performance rather than stability.
  6. Thanks! Had exactly the same and thought it was a bug.
  7. Hey, thanks for the reply & tips! I have this mission burnt into my head so I know exactly what terrain features you are talking about. Yeah, I know the egress point you mean (hard right and then up the valley) - I've also used that valley as an ingress point but it leaves you so vulnerable to a long range shot from the SAM site. In the past I've flown up the main valley (roughly following the way points), then tried to hit the SA-11 site and then veered slightly right and then up & over the mountain range, there's a cliff on the other side and then a large flat area that I've used as a staging point to get my systems set up for another run. I'll give your suggested route a try tonight and see if I can make further progress - seems the trick is to use the terrain to block the line of sight whilst you push up that valley. Thanks for putting the time in to making a great mission! Cheers, Stacker.
  8. Hi, have you tried the new training missions pack? It contains some bug fixes. http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/250461/
  9. Hey, anyone done this mission? If so, I would really like some pointers/advice/strategy tips. I've lost count the number of times I've tried this mission (honestly I've racked up at least 20+)... every single one has ended in a failure due to that SA-11 that's parked further up the valley looking down on Kazbegi. My feeling is that I've got to neutralise that threat first before I can start working with the JTAC to pick off targets up and down the valley. The big problem I find is that by the time I'm in range with the TGP to line up some mark points I'm just getting a volley of SAM's coming at me hard. I've managed a couple of times to knock out the search radar in the centre of the formation with a MAV but that was probably more luck than anything else. I've tried coming at it from various angles and altitudes (20,000ft down to a low 100ft run up the winding valley). I've deviated quite a lot from the flight plan just to try something different but every single time I end up eating missile. Cheers!
