You could just flick the auto-pilot on, change your settings and then flick it back off again. Not ideal but it simulates having another person in the cockpit with you to reduce some of the workload. Also, its worth mapping useful settings to your HOTAS instead of having to click around the cockpit.

Have a look at the stuff @PeterP has done here http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1469638&postcount=1 Demonstrates how to extract MFCD's etc.. Also, check out his mod link. He added a tablet kneeboard inside the cockpit - might be possible to put that onto another screen.

Please Provide The DCS Applications Of Chinese Version
Stacker replied to loo_ohs's topic in DCS Wishlist
As a compromise it should be a fairly straightforward job to create a Chinese manual (but maintain English/Russian cockpits). We use translating companies all the time at work and it's not that expensive (in relative terms). However, translating GUI's etc.. is a different matter and not so straightforward. Just translating the manual isn't ideal but at least it would provide basic access to the sim for the people over there. @loo_ohs - keep pushing and make some noise! As Sobek said, if you can get together a community that is willing to do at least the manual translation then I'm sure ED would offer some support. Good luck! -
Just discovered, if I hold the Left Shift key down and then click around the screen using Left Mouse button, I can set waypoints. If I then press the Right Mouse button the units will accept that path. I suspect there's something wrong with the GUI - look at this screen shot. You can see that I don't have the 'Waypoint' box available (even though I click the '>' button several times).

I'm pretty certain I had this working before but when I create a mission I can no longer control/move infantry around. I tried this simple test - Create new mission - Add a UH-1H, cold start (or any other flyable aircraft) - Add a infantry unit - Select 'Player can control' from the battlefield menu - Start the flight, switch to F10 and select the infantry. I see the little '>' arrow next to the unit details but I don't see the second window where you can set the Target point etc.. If I create an infantry unit using script, set the 'PlayerCanDrive' attribute to 'True' and then use the F10 map I can then set their target etc.. It seems that infantry units created via the miz editor can't be moved/controlled. I've attached my test mission to demonstrate. Any ideas? CATest.miz

Thanks for sharing this - it's really transformed the sim for me (and the guys I fly online with). If this really is just a visual thing (and doesn't affect the FM), then I think BST should promote it to a setting on the options screen and let people tweak their shakes accordingly.

Before DCS 1.2.6 update 2 better mountains!
Stacker replied to Mainstay's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Not at my computer but yeah, what Grimes said. Fly over to 44 08 58 N/042 55 10 E at 9000Ft and take another look. Would be interesting to see the difference (if indeed there is one). Perhaps the different altitude in both pics is a factor? Or indeed just put an AI around that area and put a camera on it. -
1.2.6 isn't the open beta. From Wags release note - Note: The open beta version was not ready in time for release. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1858557&postcount=1

Had the same issue last night with our squad. A-10 was designating target and nobody could see it (I couldn't even see the laser emanating from the target pod). We had a KA-50 and Huey and none of the guys could see it. I tried latch, IR/Laser/Both etc... nothing worked.

Beginners Guide to DCS World Aircraft Mods

Wow, just had a quick skim through. Excellent work sir! -
WTH happened to the load times?
Stacker replied to ScottishMartialArts's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Since the update I too have found significantly longer loads (though not as bad as the OP). It's hard to explain why some people are getting it and some aren't, I wonder if it's anything to do with DRM etc.. Perhaps the DRM is calling home during launch and this is why it's varying so much (contact with servers etc.. taking longer for some people and not for others). Not sure, just guessing. -
Are you sure it's powered up? Switch is on the overhead panel, just back from the circuit breakers.

FM Radio Sound Problem - Contacting JTAC 1.2.6
Stacker replied to Stacker's topic in Bugs and Problems
Good question, I can't remember. As I said I was being lazy and using the simplified radio menu options so it auto-tunes for me. I'll give it another go tonight, if it works then I'll just it down to a glitch. Thanks. -
Hi, Created a fast mission last night (A-10C), tried to contact the JTAC on the FM radio and all I got was a loud tone. I'm using simplified radio communications menu. Had to turn the FM radio off to silence it. I'll try it again with a new mission but just wondered if anyone else has had the same issue. Cheers.
-
Just to add to this - we are also seeing your issue (4), GC sets a path for a unit and it crashes 2-3 of the clients. Also, one of our guys (the host) is suffering severe FPS loss (I think it's when we are at an airbase etc..).

TrackIR5 Starnge Y axis bug, now with video
Stacker replied to Jeesus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have exactly the same behaviour in my cockpit/trackir. It seems like my head 'jumps' up when I look down sometimes. I've never quite put my finger on it but your video appears to be consistent with my issue as well. I'll try the trueview option to see if that works for me (I'm pretty sure I've already tweaked that before but I'll give it another shot). Cheers. -
That's going to be an interesting problem, let's see how they solve it. Just tried TrackIR with the doors open, problem is you can't get your head past the door threshold. They might have to extend the limits of the head movement around that area otherwise it's going to be tricky to put things down. Door gunner has a gap you can see down though.

Nothing. Money will only flow to them if they achieve the target which is looking rather unlikely unless some high rollers step in.

A show case of the "unpredictable and uncontrollable " DCS Huey
Stacker replied to PeterP's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Brilliant!! Didn't know you could do that. Also looks like you've got high-res bitmaps for the maps as well. Been looking for something like this for ages, thanks man! -

Hahaha. Nice 'hand-break' turn at the end there to park. Q: At 0:09 I see you've got a knee pad map. Haven't noticed that in my cockpit, is it a graphic option? How did/do you do that? Going to check tonight, perhaps it's something I've missed. -
Keep at it mate - when you eventually find that right sequence/technique you'll look back and wonder what all the fuss was about. You've just got to get the muscle memory built up. Without a doubt the landings are the most challenging aspect of this, but once you nail it then it opens up a whole new chapter.

Yes, they are beautiful!!! I think one of our guys got them from you.

Hi, The way I do this is simply to copy the skin folder to here {program files}\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\Uh-1h For example, I just installed the DHFS skins someone posted. Therefore the above folder on my machine now contains these additional folders like this {program files}\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\Uh-1h\DHFS-E {program files}\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\Uh-1h\DHFS-K {program files}\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\Uh-1h\DHFS-L {program files}\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\Uh-1h\DHFS-R etc.. There are other ways I believe to achieve this but this works for me. Cheers.

new mission: dynamic CSAR and Air Mobility mission for SP and MP
Stacker replied to wolle's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Nice mission this, ran this a couple of times now with my mate doing troop deployment with an escort - we take it in turns hauling grunts while the other helps to secure the LZ and surrounding area. Really fits well with how the Huey would have operated in those combat scenarios. Thanks for posting.
