Hey all,
Just a detail regarding the notch tactics in MiG-29S. I have read here on the forums that the 'filter' Doppler effect speed for F-15 is +/- 50 knots. This basically means that if the target approach speed component is less than 50 knots, the target will be filtered out as ground clutter thus rendering it invisible. By doing some simple calculations it is easy to conclude that for a target flying at around 300km/h ground speed at 70 deg relative to radar lock, forward speed component is around 90km/h, which is just under 50 knots. As far as FC2.0 manual states, azimuth gimbal limit for N-019M Topaz radar is +/-70 degrees which is just enough to keep the target locket and still achieve the notch. This is the theory, I haven't tested this in game but sound promising.
