  1. Thanks for the input Abburo. I will indeed try downloading the DCS World to see how it works on my computer. I'd like to believe that Black Shark 1 is simply outdated and cannot use my hardware properly, and that my rig will be able to get at least a "decent" performance from the newer games. I am still a little let down thought that in 2014, any simulation game wouldn't make use of multi-core processors.
  2. I have Black Shark (original) and I seem to get glitchy (jumpy) graphics even on medium settings. I just upgraded my rig, and even when playing ArmA3, a notoriously hardware-demanding game, the game auto-set puts me on ULTRA setting and my computer can handle it, so I am wondering if it's because Black Shark is now so old that it just won't make best use of my hardware. The essential components of my computer are, Windows 7 Radeon R9 270 2048MB i5 4690K, at 3.5 ghz + 8Gb 1600 RAM The graphics on BS seems blocky to the point my cockpit dials are hard to read, so it seems like it shouldn't be that demanding on my hardware. Do I just need to get BS 2? Will it make a difference? Also the Patch 1.0.2 won't install. Yes it's a clean install. (i installed 1.0.1 earlier which went fine, but uninstalled everything again to reinstall BS and 1.0.2 ONLY....as per the instructions....) Also I read that BS uses only 1 cpu core. Do the newer DCS products use multiple cores? Thanks in advance for any help I can get. I dusted off my old BS game to try it out to see if I want to get DCS's newer products but at this point I am wondering if I should waste the money. But I could be doing somehting wrong. Edit: The patch 1.0.2 stops at a window that says "Backup".....I have tried leaving it alone for a while but after a while when i check Task Manager, it always says "not responding"....
  3. LOLZ!! So basically you have a screen and joystick and do the same thing we do here for fun, except you have a real plane that you are controlling remotely and get paid for it? What a blast!! Serious question, do you get satellite lag or interference in the middle of flying a UAV, and when it does does it have a pre-set course that it flys on gyro nav or something until connection is reestablished? Im thinking GPS nav wont work as well if you lose signal to it.
  4. Hi, thanks for responding. It's happened a few times, and i cannot remember exactly the condition of each instance. At least the last time this happened I was mostly intact, maybe the gears were gone and I may have hit the blades on the ground when i landed plus whatever AA damage I took that made me go down in the first place, but all cockpit functions were working fine. And yes I was inside the helicopter.
  5. Continuity after crash landing Hello all. First post here in this forum. I am new to the game (actually bought the game 2 years ago but shelved it when I didn't have a computer that could get me enjoyable performance...) I have a few questions I want to get to but first one on my mind right now is.... When I crash land and I am safe, can I continue the game? I cannot send a radio command to my wingman even though I still have the radio on. He hovers in the last formation he was supposed to be in, and I can hear my voice give the command but he doesn't respond, and just sits there hovering. When the mission objectives are almost complete, it would seem logical that I can instruct my wingman to "Mission and RTB", therefore completing the mission. The AI seems to think that if I haven't died or the chopper destroyed, I am still flying. But simultaneously the AI thinks I'm out of the game, since I cannot give commands.
