  1. Classified Systems While it's more than just basic aircraft systems that seem to be discussed in this thread, there are plenty of items and systems that are not modeled as they can't be released to the public. In particular are the Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) and secure (encrypted) communications, sometimes referred to as KYs. The fact that they have these systems isn't classified but how they work and what frequencies/encryption keys quite certainly are and they frequently change so just getting knowledge of certain items probably wouldn't do anyone any good. I am currently a Plane Captain (i.e. Crew Chief) on AV-8B Harriers and our jet has many of the same systems that the A-10C has. Hope this helps shed some light on what is left out.
  2. RIP Brother This is a very sad day indeed. Blooze was a great man and was always there to train and mentor anyone in need. I flew with Blooze on many occasions and had an absolute amazing time with the Ragtag Air Corps that he put so much effort into. He taught me so much and kept me going when things got frustrating. It was my absolute pleasure to have known you and you will surely be missed. Fly high brother.
  3. Zoom Mapping Entro, One thing I noticed when I first got my TM was using the grey dial (friction wheel) for zoom resulted in lots of shaky images. One thing to alleviate this is to use a modifier button and then the zoom wheel. I first used the paddle switch (the little lever in the front of the joystick or pinkie lever) and then the zoom wheel. Now I've gotten away from the zoom wheel and have mapped my zoom in as the paddle switch + mic switch forward and zoom out as paddle switch + mic switch aft (this way my hand never leaves the throttle to zoom in or out.) Same goes for my TIR center command, I use the push function of the slew control, and the TIR freeze, mic switch push function. Just food for thought.
  4. Saw this on my EarlyBird news feed. Good news perhaps? http://www.airforcetimes.com/story/military/2015/01/29/mcsally-a10-letter/22533095/
  5. I just got sick watching that video...
  6. Sorry if this has been discussed but I used what little search knowledge that I have and didn't come up with any results. :helpsmilie: Was curious if anyone else has seen this before: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cloud-Flyer-Motion-Flight-Simulator-DYI-Manual-with-Drawings-/111489918964?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item19f55127f4 Looks like a fairly simple way of getting a motion controlled home pit IF you can weld and you've got some spare aluminum/steel just sitting around. Maybe someone on here already has this in their setup? Youtube vid of latest model: Website of the designer: http://www.cloud-flyer.com/
  7. Doesn't the wind call show the direction the wind is coming from? Therefore it would be going to (224-180=44) 044 degrees, which runway 08 is pointing more into the wind than the 260 runway? Or have I misinterpreted that altogether?

  9. Well after trying just about everything I said forget it and reloaded PeterP's mod and wouldn't you know it, it worked! Now time to figure this BVR and A2A stuff out...
  10. Faith - took a look at that thread but it seems weird that I can change every view and set each snap view to the location that I want but none of them seem to change how the HUD looks. Can't figure it out. I even tried to change the default FOV but that didn't do anything at all.
  11. Need a little help on this module and hoping those a lot more knowledgeable about the F-15 can help. Attached is a (horrible) screenshot of what the HUD looks like when I attempt to fly and I can't seem to find out how to change how the HUD is viewed in all views. I've got a multi-monitor setup which explains the horrible screenshot since I had to turn my head to the right since my far most left monitor is the 'main' screen and I can't seem to find any other way to take a screen shot from a different monitor. But I digress... back to the reason for the post. I've looked up every thread I can find on changing the default view and have changed the default 'center' view by setting the amount of zoom away from the HUD with Num/ and Num* that I would like to start at and pressed RALT Num0. Now when I press the Num5 button I have the proper length from the HUD that I want but the view in the HUD stays the same. This had no effect on what I see in the HUD, which is the lower left portion. Now, when I press RSHIFT + Num* it zooms to the closest view possible to the HUD and looks natural with what the HUD is showing since I'm so close and any other Num# that I press to move my head it's just as close to all of the other gauges/dials/etc. I have attempted to use RALT+RCTRL Num/ and/or Num* to move the cockpit camera but it has absolutely no effect whether or not I'm in the cockpit panel view or not (by pressing RCTRL + Num0). I use TrackIR5 but the views are exactly the same with or without TrackIR5 enabled or even turned on and running. I've tried a repair twice and this has no effect and it defaults to the same HUD view every time. I've got A-10C and that works perfectly. I even made sure that I went into the Config/View/View.lua and ensured that line 30 (UseDefaultSnapViews) = false. At this point I am tapping out and asking for help :helpsmilie: as I just can't seem to figure this out. I'm sure it's something simple but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I've attached my view lua to see if maybe I did something else and don't know it. I disabled all mods and tried everything listed above but the results are the same as with all mods enabled. I appreciate any and all help and can't wait to get this fixed! Thanks everyone! View.lua
  12. Too late? Hope it's not too late to reply, just got the day cleared by the CO... errr, wife. Cold start if it's still available or not an even number already.
  13. diveplane, this sounds very close to the real thing, unfortunately it's a 406 and the current engine is known as a 408B (more thrust, more whine). This is one subject on this forum that I feel I'm qualified to discuss. PM me if you need/want any details. --forgot to mention that the 406 was phased out sometime around 2002ish. It sounded excellent though and pretty accurate to what the real one sounded like. Very impressed and the cockpit view was pretty spot on! Excited to see the real deal.
