  1. Following the above instructions worked just fine and I was able to pass the first mission and save it. Thanks
  2. Thank you - that's helpful. I've realized there is something else that troublesome about mission 1 that causes me confusion I don't have the exact nomenclature in front of me - but when taxiing out to the runway - the instructor provides an overview of what is expected and says something to the effect of - in relation to turn 3 'the right time to retract the gear'. This lead me to assume it was some sort of strange flyby without any actual landing - and this caused me to waste 1-2 hours of getting 'second attempt' having to go around again until I realized that it should say 'extend the landing gear' - not retract Since there was no instructions regarding lowering altitude for landing after turn 4 (that there should be a turn 4 is also easy to lose amongst the instructions because everything else is called out so specificicaly and it's kind of thrown in the instructions on turn 3) - and as I just mentioned everthing else is so very precise in terms of direction- I had assumed i would fail the mission for dropping altitude and doing a touchdown. These factors combined caused a lot of confusion (retract landing gear + no instructions to go for a touchdown other than to follow the glide path) It was only through trial and error that I realized the instructions are imo incomplete/misleading - however perhaps it was painfully obvious to others who have more experience with flight. I'm not sure While DCS is a lot of fun - it's these little broken piece (including the save bug) that make it hard to really enjoy. I personally just don't have time (sadly) to spend 1-3 hours trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do - and fail over and over again followed by a save error when I finally succeeded (and spend another 3-4 hours re-doing it)
  3. Yes I did - but only after watching the track which.....Im guessing is not correct?
  4. I completed mission 1 successfully (I was told I completed it successfully) I taxi'd to the ramp, and then shut down, left the mission, reviewed the track (I wanted to watch the results) and then it told me that I was not listening (during the playback!?) - now the mission is showing as not completed, so I seem to have to run it again. What did I do wrong?
  5. Thanks. Oh. errr - how do I do that? Or is there a video on how to do that?
  6. Hi - I've set up a free flight mission at the Fujairah international airport - and I dont seem to be able to contact the ATC. I've turned on Battery, Engine (CB Engine Switch), Inverter 1, Inverter 2 and Radio - however when I try to contact ATC (using \) I get nothing. I've tried all 19 channels (it shows 250.6 but Im not sure how to tune into that with the 19 L39 channel options) - not sure if its possible to contact the ATC on the Persian Gulf Maps? Thanks
  7. I'm also stuck on mission 1 - as of yet I can't figure out how to keep my speed that close to 350km/h. This will take a serious improvement in my virtual flying skills but I think that's the whole point - to improve your skillset which then would be able to be applied in a wide variety of other modules and situations. I suppose I would only recommend this module for folks looking to improve as opposed to just having a good time. I think it's quite good thus far.
  8. I also didnt see anything about further development on CA in the newsletter either, which was confusing. I figured they would want to get to enhancements on it after FC3 was out of beta. Perhaps we can get a comment from ED on where this lies in the priority list.
  9. What is with the vast 'dumbing down' of simulator games? I thought the big game developers had learned their lesson already with the abundance of poorly made EZ Button mode games they keep churning out and flushing down the toilet? I know the thought process was "Well if this hardcore group loves it, lets make it easier for others!" but that always results in garbage both groups hate. Oi Vei. When will they learn?
  10. I know this is off topic - but Im not "getting" the concept of the Huey personally. I dont get the added value - unless its possible to transport troops and drop them off at a battle. But this again in my mind would require some sort of FPS expansion to Combined Arms.
  11. I have the full CH Products setup (including pedals) and I have to say, as much as I love the pedals for immersion, authenticity and fine tuning will doing gun strafing, they arent overly necessary for A-10C. Now - in Rise of Flight? - No Pedals = DEAD fast. For that game, if you want to play you MUST have pedals, no two ways about it. In fact, I would say pedals are more important than the joystick. With A-10C - they can come later.
  12. I'm fairly new to flight sims and DCS myself. I got the CH products ( pedals, fighter stick pro and throttle) plus trackir5 and have loved it so far. I worried about making such a huge investment without knowing I would enjoy it, however I love the CH products software and hardware but I don't have a lot of experience with other products however ( so can't compare for you). I found new CH products items for very good prices on eBay. No issues yet. I can't imagine playing DCS A-10c without the gear I have.
