I am confused about NWS and taxing in a A10C. I have been working on my cold-start up knowledge by running the start up training mission and a simple mission I created. When I got my A-10C ready to taxi, I pressed the "insert" key and verified that my NSW light came on. I pressed W to release the brakes and increased throttle. My plane moves forward but my joystick (no rudder and the stick doesn't twist) doesn't turn the plane. I have tried turning on and off NWS with no effect (trying to turn the plane).
After searching the forum, I see people suggest using Z/X to accomplish the turning the plane while taxing and that makes sense.
My true confusion is this: When I run the takeoff training mission, the stick seems to turn the plane left or right with no problem (with NWS). I just increase throttle and if the plane deviates (seems to always pull to the left), I just push the stick to the right and the plane veers to the right.
Any ideas on either 1) what i am missing or 2) am I misinterpreting what is happening in the takeoff training mission?
