VHF radio panel love your radio panel, is there any chance in you tellming me how your made it?

all looks good, I have worked out most of how to make these panels it is just the dame mini displays. Out of a mater of interested where did you get the tops of the knobs from they look good?

so would I be correct in saying you are working on a radio panel there and they are for the tuning of the radio? and also what you are saying is that one way can be used to turn the number in a upward way and Turning it the other will make the number descend? Have I got that right?

hi Sir, No I have no intentions of paying the money on offer for a plug and play system it is just far to much. I guess I will have to wait for someone to give me a hand with the radio, I am not spending any money on boards which I have no idea what to do with them, it is a waste. However when I get to building that other display I may give you a email if I get stuck if that is ok? P.S there is one other thing you could help me with on rotary style switches. Han I am so sorry, did not see your reply that seems a lot more like, can this be used for other things like the radio displays? How do you go about changing the program for it?

not really, not any further along, still do not know what component I actually need and what software I need to drive them and how to do that. making switches and LEDS flash is totally different to making a display with date sync with the game. need someone to tell me what items I need how to make the software control them within the game. No one has done that. that is why I am prepared for someone to make me on if no one will give me instructions on how to make it. it is very easy for someone who knows what they are doing just to say or u get this and just stick this in there and do it work. some of us who have little or no understanding of these things need to be walked thought the process step by step. If has in my mind been a comman failing when making these display no one will go through the process of making them in detail and many people I have come across trying to make them have felt the same That is why I have offered money as know one wants to give any sort of straight guidance display.

OK had a look at those, not really sure what I am looking for there but something with those sort of displays will do. I have not started building my pit yet, looking at my options then I will design the panel around what is on off. I understand how to how to make the warning LEDs work but the name of the board to do that escapes me (got it written down somewhere) using a leobodnar board for types of switches. Seen alot of use of the arduino board. I like this display http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82399 but I need the dummies guide to making something like that. Any ideas?

I have seen lots of different types of things on Youtube, personal I would not mind having a single line Led but would prefer a segmented setup I have not got a clue where to start, or how to achieve it any help you could give would be welcome as I have said I am willing to pay

yes the radio one and all ther others with small displays for number are what I am truly after

yes I was thinking about a laser myself just don't know much about it and what is needed. would rather have something ready built than have any sort of kit.

Hi Guys I am in awe of your electrical abilities. I have found out how to make lights flask how to make my CDU screen sort out the rotary switches and of course the toggle and push switches this week. Trying to get all the knowledge together to plan and price up my cockpit. But how do I make one of these wonderful CMSP led displays? I am afraid that my electronics experience is very limited i am willing to learn.

Thanks sir for that. Yes I have gone through the part of making basic switches and know how to do that. i have worked my way through also making mechanical rotary switches with up to 12 points. You have now told me how to get my LED's working so I am getting there slowly. Thanks for your help I will let you know if I find out anything about the LCD display for the CDU. Regards HornetUK

Ok I total understand what you said in your PM, Yes I guess I will have to have a further look around the forum but it is a bit of a pain for me as I am rather dyslexic but there we go. But basically you are saying you use Helios to interface with your Phidgets and give it instructions to that board which turn the light on and off. is that how you have done your other lights to the left of your controls. also one other question if your do not mind you are making a GDU how are you going to make the monitor section on that work? Sorry to be a pain it is just nice to find someone who will in part a little knowledge to me. How are you finding the two of Leo Bodnars boards you bought as well are they any help at telling you the sort of equipment you need for a certain task? Now I have got in touch with the guys at ultimarc.com if anyone has not heard of the they have all sort of things to build arcade game machine stuff. they have told me they can possible supply most of the stuff but would need more information about the DCS software to see if the sim if compatibly with there SST software. There must be one of you guys who know about the software that integrates the boards used into DCS, can one of you give me some advice what I should tell them or where I need to get the information to them? so in other words with out dcs changing so you can it can not be done at the moment?
