  1. @ VJS161_Fire RADAR locks information is sparse in DCS World 1.2. If DCS World 2.0 can export more data, then they will be available in Tacview as soon as the new exporter is complete. @ grunf I’m glad you found a combination of units which fulfill your needs! By curiosity, which one is it? Were you looking for meters/second vertical speed? For which use? (this is important for me to understand because I want to remove useless options from future releases of Tacview and I don’t want to remove something which can be useful!)
  2. I have indeed planed improvements for the charts. And you are gong to get more parameters soon like fuel consumption. If the aircraft weight is available in DCS then you will get it too :) What do you mean by preferred units? You can already choose your favorite unit system from the settings menu. Are you looking for an option to mix metric and imperial system depending on the data? In which case would you need to mix units? I’m working on the other points. And when you see upside-down parachutes this is probably a "network" issue in DCS. I hope to get more reliable data with the new exporter and DCS 2.0.
  3. Sorry for the delay, I was quite busy during the past week… Can you send me by email or pm the detail of your license? (email address, date, full name) I will check what is going on with it. It looks like that you have entered a valid Home license key several times. Maybe your Professional product key is in another email? FYI you never have to run Tacview as an administrator. Also, Tacview is compatible and developed with the last version of Windows 10 x64.
  4. A lot of cool things are going to be released in Tacview during the upcoming year. Meanwhile here is some good news for this year-end: The Holiday sale has begun: From Dec 19th to Jan 3th, 30% off on all Tacview licenses including group buy (volume pricing)! Your squadron misses you during the online debriefings? It’s the occasion for you to join them! If you want to upgrade from Home to Professional, just send me an email with your product key and I will send you back a special link. http://www.strasoftware.com/buy/tacview

  6. I hope DCS 1.5 bugs are going to be fixed soon, so your server will be available DCS 1.5. Because your map is definitively a hassle-free place to have fun, relax and learn with cool guys.
  7. I didn’t have the time to test it, but does anyone know if the F10 view performance issue in multiplayer has been fixed? (Just as a reminded the same F10 view is smooth in DCS 1.2)
  8. Tacview 1.4.1 is now available! Tacview 1.4.1 is now available! http://www.strasoftware.com/download/tacview It offers an even better online debriefing experience and a better support for DCS World 2.0. Now you can use a professional grade 5mW laser pointer to show to your team mates where they must focus their attention! You can also temporarily give control to one of your fellow instructors so they can share their point of view with the audience. And the performance issue with some Radeon graphic cards has finally been fixed! Now, I can focus my work on Tacview 2.0 and the next intermediate release 1.5. Which will feature improved telemetry and the long awaited real time flight analysis! And for those who want to know more about the past and future of Tacview, do not forget to listen the exclusive interview in the last 476th Podcast from Dojo! https://t.co/DLC8r0ml8N Enjoy! Vyrtuoz FEATURES & CHANGES The online debriefing host can now temporarily give control to a client A laser pointer is now displayed when holding SHIFT during the online debriefing Screen space visible by all peers is now highlighted during online debriefing Italian translation by Diego Festari The export script is now automatically installed in all DCS.* folders (inluding DCS.openalpha) DTC files stored in \Data\Static Objects\ folders are now automatically loaded (relatively to the last active theater) Added support for BMS 4.33 tilesets in Data-Falcon4Theaters.xml Updated Korea to BMS 4.33 terrain Updated Balkans to BMS 4.33 version Updated Israel to v1.0 for BMS 4.33 Updated Aegean to version 1.6 Updated Nevada terrain with DCS World open alpha data Integrated ITO Range 602 from Uri Ben-Avraham for BMS 4.33 Added an option to open the current flight recording folder in the File Explorer Improved support of csv files with trailing tabs FIXES Fixed performance issues about terrain streaming with some Radeon graphic cards DTC files drag & drop on Tacview window was not working anymore It is now possible to display a 3D mesh for objects not in Tacview database DCS World export script was not working in some rare cases Charts were not properly synchronized during online debriefings using different files It was not possible to open some files by dropping their icon on Tacview icon It was not possible to copy/paste a shortcut when no data was loaded CTRL+C was creating a bookmark while moving the free camera
  9. Joebloggs, I’m not sure what you are calling 3D effect, because all versions of Tacview are displaying DCS World terrains in 3D and with shadows. That said, the strategic view in the ability to see as much of the battlefield as you want. Just play with the zoom and you will be notified when you are in the strategic view “mode” or not by a message at the top of the 3D view (in the demo version). All features are detailed on my website: http://tacview.strasoftware.com/features/ The professional edition may interest you if you want to go deeper in your analysis by drawing charts and looking at some battles from a strategic point of view. This version also enables you to host a debriefing your friends can join and soon you will also be able to analyze a flight while it is taking place.
  10. The automatic script installation does not work *yet* because DCS open alpha is using another folder to store its scripts. It will be supported in Tacview 1.4.1. Meanwhile please follow the provided instructions in Q14 http://tacview.strasoftware.com/documentation/dcs/#q14 to manually install the export scripts. The target directory should be something like: %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha
  11. I think what Mirknir is wondering about, is about social and gameplay implications of the new maps. Don’t get me wrong: I think this is normal to pay for well-designed maps as we can do with FSX for example. And it is logical that servers as well as clients have to play for them (one can reasonably assume that a person hosting a server can also use its license for its own flights as a client). The real question is more about how the community is going to be divided and will the new comers suffer from this “abundance” of maps. Let’s put it this way: Actually, any player of DCS World, especially new comers can join any public server. Simply because the only map available is literally free… Now, new payware maps are coming (starting with NTTR), and we can assume that the most popular servers available today will probably switch to NTTR. With the side effect of cutting them from new players... Since there is a relatively small amount of public servers available (compared to other games), new players may end with not so interesting things to do online in the good old Caucasus map deserted by the “advanced” players… I have no idea how this is going to turn in practice. But this is an interesting social/gameplay concern…
  12. @Ragnarok The real-time flight analysis will be available in coming release of Tacview. I’m working on it right now... @IASGATG You do not have to load the exact same file on clients’ computers. Everyone can load its own version of the flight recording as long as it was taken during the same mission. Now, like HiJack mentioned it, since it would take a huge amount of time to transfer such amount of data over the network to multiple clients, I’m leaning toward some kind of real-time streaming solution. And I have to complete my work on the real-time recording feature first...
  13. Tacview 1.4.1 beta 1 is available You asked for it: A professional grade 5mW 650nm laser pointer is now included for FREE with each copy of Tacview Professional 1.4.1. Now you can now highlight any part of the battlefield and even charts during your online debriefings! Please, be responsible: Don’t point laser beams at faces, eyes, kittens or real aircraft.
  14. Thank you! I think the vertical speed is correct because it is calculated using the object displacement, not the cockpit instruments.
  15. I have also noticed the problem in DCS World 1.5. I have double checked my export script and didn’t find any obvious error in it. So I have created a bug report for the beta but I didn’t get any feedback yet. Could you post your observation in the dedicated thread please? Maybe this will encourage the dev team to investigate the issue and to explain what is going on... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=150912
  16. Maybe Mirknir can confirm this, but I think that the “same” map is currently working fine with DCS 1.2. That’s why I don’t really think this is a network issue. Also, I hope ED is not going to create a network “bubble” like Falcon 4 do, because this is so frustrating to watch in Tacview :( (when you see just a few objects around your aircraft... that would be a step backward feature wise) Note that I'm not talking about a nice and clean gameplay fog of war.
  17. If my memory serves me right, there is no limit to 3D models polygon count. Obviously, the more, the longer time it will take to load and to display the objects. According to my tests, 4K polygons is perfect because it is very fast to display and you cannot really notice more details within Tacview. I would say that 10K is the maximum reasonable number of polygons. You may start notice longer loading time and lower frame rate above on an average computer.
  18. What is strange is that in single player its mission is smooth in F10 map.
  19. The performance issue with ATI graphics cards and the new terrain engine has been finally fixed thanks to the help of ShortBuss and JLX! The fix will be published next week in Tacview 1.4.1 beta 1. Thank you guys!
  20. Even if my computer is in the lower-end, I’m running at 45 fps in average with 90% of details and effects (great job for than on the 1.5!), so my config is not the problem in single or multiplayer. Only in multiplayer, when I enter the map (on Open Conflict beta server), I’m running at 1 frame every 5 seconds. It is so slow that I don’t use the map anymore… My ports are open and multiplayer gameplay is smooth (out of F10 view) qnd I have a solid wireless connection. (this is not a network ping or bandwidth issue) I really don't think this is a hardware issue because Mirknir has the exact same issue with a competently different system.
  21. I'm running with one monitor only, Windows 10, latest official nVidia driver, nothing fancy as you can see in the attached dxdiag DxDiagVyrtuoz.txt
  22. Fixing ATI graphic drivers issues My current 3D engine sends textures to the graphic card driver in a generic format and let the optimization task up to the driver. This is why I think this is a driver issue, not a hardware performance issue. From my point of view ATI is making great hardware. However, they are providing terrible drivers… I wish we could have ATI graphic cards with the smooth and stable nVidia drivers… Now, that said, I can try is to optimize manually the textures before sending them to the graphic driver. This may be the right workaround. But this is going to take some work and to be sure I’m going to work on the right solution, would you JLX or ShortBuss help me by testing some special version of Tacview so we can pinpoint the issue accurately? If you are interested, please email me and I will send you back special versions to test.
  23. I tried several themes without any noticeable changes. I don't use the clouds theme which stutter a lot compared to the smooth in-game frame rate (!) As for the F10 map view, it is always super slow (unusable) regardless of my actions, aircraft, respawns...
  24. I’m sorry to hear about your performance issue ShortBuss. Can you share more details so I can understand what is happening? Please see the list [How to report a bug?] on http://tacview.strasoftware.com/support/reportbug/ For example, can you tell me what is the brand and the driver version you are using for your graphic card? Is this the first version of Tacview you have this issue with? Can you share your dxdiag file please? Please note that removing the landscape data will just improve loading performances, because a default empty world with the same level of detail will be generated to be displayed. Also, the strategic view should be smoother than the zoomed-in view because there is less detail to display from a satellite point of view. According to your last remark, I’m suspecting a graphic card performance issue (slow real-time textures/meshes upload to the graphic card memory).
  25. (Looks like this was not yet reported) With any open beta 1.5 (at least up to 1.5.0.46175), the F10 map view is ultra-slow in multiplayer sessions. For no obvious reason, it runs at something like 0.25 fps while in multiplayer… Absolutely unplayable and it obviously generate huge lag and teleportations. It happens regardless of the aircraft piloted and also as an observer. When not in F10 map view, or when in single player mode, the frame rate is very good as usual (30 to 60 fps with details and effects at 90%). This has been confirmed on several computers as a client (did have the time to test it as a server). For Steam as well as non steam version of DCS World.
