  1. GGTharos is correct. this phenominon points to the flight model being very good rather than lacking as rlouge suggests.

To affect 'crisp' movements one must coordinade the roll and counter (especialy with the SU-25).

Alhough i have never flown FBW aircraft, I belive that the F-16 and F-18 (correct me if iam wrong) have a mechanism that does this automaticaly which would point to the 'crisp' movement disparity that Scott28 is describing.

  2. From my definition FM signifies a single vector describing the entire airframe in the entire flight envelope.

AFM signifies an array of individual and somewhat independant vectors defining seperate parts of the airframe over the entire flight envelope (wing removal in su-25 acts realiusticaly).

Also the calculation of the non-linear regions of fluid flow over the object (wing rock at high alpha) i.e. not laminar all the time with as stated above, scripted flight model actions and reactions for landing, stalls and especialy spins.

BTW does any one have a decent CFD program that allows simple calculations to be done over importable 3D models (i wana make a skin that displays the surface fluid velocities over the su-25 :))

  3. Definatley need this, like an automated print showing TOW, TOT, package and friendleys for each mission such that for each new mission, just press print and a single page with all the relevent info.

that would rock and be novel in the combat flight sim market i think (i know F4 had a similar type but that one you filled out your self)

  4. I my self have not had any major problems with starforce but another system which has proven popular and effective is the Live for Speed system, quick and effective. it discorages piracy as each user has their own login to use one at a time. granted this may not work in lockon as LFS is predomiately an online game.

  5. Nice, will check it out.

I have "Aerodynamics for Engineers" by Bertin

    http://www.amazon.com/Aerodynamics-Engineers-4th-John-Bertin/dp/0130646334

I got it for my 18th (yes its sad i know) and its great, not so great if you dont understand or want to understand vector calculus... but thats like everything in life ;)

I was more wondering on how ED implement aircraft measurements into a functioning model and which variables are of most importance?

  6. I was just wondering if this is a simmilar process that ED use to create their AFM for the SU-25 and KA-50?

    http://www.dsto.defence.gov.au/publications/2256/DSTO-TR-0988.pdf

and if so can they do the P/C-9A as this would help me out alot :)

P.S. DSTO have alot of excelent quality data on offer pubilcy in terms of journal artilces if that can be utalised for Lockon so rather than the community finding some obsqure avionics article (for the F/A-18 :smilewink: ) that may like to concentrate on finding accurate and viable flight data.

If ED could respond that would be great as Iam interested in the simulation process and iam sure other people are also.

    Cheeres

  7. I have been using this sim for years also, it was a worthy upgrade from microsoft space sim (1994). i love it, even took it back to my old high school and they now use it for an teaching tool for space physics!

its great stuff, i recomend it to any one even if you only view the tutes

  8. Later on this year or early next year i was looking to either get a projector for sims or a 3D visor.

The Z800 looks fairly good and it has come down in price alot, but the 800x600 res and other little niggles but me off.

Now i hear they are going to relise a 1280x1024 res unit, the Z1300.

what do people think in better? iam not looking for a desicion (i have proty much made up my mind on 3D visors if the res comes up + my TIR4) i was just wondering what people thougth would be the best upgrade.

p.s. i also herd that you can still use TB by looking down when using the Z800, that would be awesome
