I get a slight pitch down initially, but that it followed by what feels like runaway trim to nose up. Need almost full forward stick to stay level at 200 kts.

By any chance were you coming out of AP just before that?  For me, I notice the "exteme" nose up if I have been in AP, disconnected, then started my approach with gear and flaps and trimming to onspeed around 220 knots. Need to fight it to keep nose level.

  2. Don't think they are the best for a 4090.

Many settings are good for 2d but not for the Pimax Crystal. No need for example - vsync on or AF 16x.  Just run it in Anti-Aliasing DLSS - Quality. Terrain objects can stay default.

Clear, fast, no FR needed either.

  3. Hi,

    F-18 Throttle on II Base

Pinky finger three way switch not working correctly. Checked tru/false log and it is incorrect between Switch 3,4,5.

I could correct this if I new how to edit the file. Checked everywhere and most files are coded. This was corrected in the previous version and is now back again.

Or where to get a previous version before DL version 1.10.47  ?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

I got my tail wheel busted pretty much always when i pass boundary grass/concrete at Caucasians airfields. No matter the speed it always generates loud bang sound and in 90% cases tail wheel is dead.

Fully agree!   Same issue here.  Channel map.

  5. The problem was a 0 setting in the VR forced IPD settings. Moved it up to 10 and all works fine.

    Hi, title says it all.

When in VR and using mouse or not using mouse, the pointer will flicker and disappear when hovering over buttons.

This makes it hard to ensure that it is over the correct button. Has anyone experienced this and corrected the issue, or determined where it might lie?

    Cheers,

With the 2.8 updates of the last couple of months, my system has been increasingly unable to deal with high terrain textures.

In attached mission, sitting in an F-15E at Nellis, with terrain textures low and textures medium, I get a solid 40fps looking towards Las Vegas. For some reason I get a dip in the 30s and some stutters when looking north/northeast, but still playable.

I can confirm the framerate drop when looking northeast. Always been there for me over the last year. Look elsewhere, framerate goes back up.

Attached is a track of the Spitfire engine degrading and failing at around +4 boost, 2200rpm while crossing the Channel at 20,000' with +1 degree surface temperature. This is with DCS 2.8.1.34667.1 Open Beta in Beware Beware Beware sortie #6. I don't know much about historic accuracy of the thermostats in these planes, but if they behaved like it's modeled, the war would have had a different outcome.

Flying the P51 in long climb to 25,000 within advised engine settings, had to watch temps and switch rads open and auto as oil and coolant temps climbed to max on a continual basis. Climb speed 200 mph. RPM 2700. Boost 45 lbs. (maintained 45 lbs as altitude and engine boost kicked in)  Mission was Blue Nose Bastards . . . . by Reflected.

I'll make a new one and send.

Just reflew the Channel Cold Start and Free Flight missions. Now the guages are working. Warm up and climb at 12 lbs boost and 2850 rpm at 180 mph temps at 60 degrees'ish. Cruise at 10,000 ft. maintained 60 degrees'ish and full boost and 3000 rpm diving to the deck and maintaining for 4 minutes maintained about 90 degrees coolant and oil temp was just above 80 degrees. Rad was in auto.

I am happy and cannot understand why yesterday the guages moved very little. Yesterday's missions were flown just after the upgrade install.

    Thanks for listening.

    Cheers

60 C is good to apply full power, it is not a matter of faith, because it is from the manual...

Please, show the original manual with 80C, and we fix it.

    Please attach the track/

What do you consider "overcooling"? The lowest temperature of the coolant is  about 50C that is the thermostatic valve setting. If 60C is ok for takeoff, this temperature is ok for climb power, for example, and after a while you can apply full power without any hesitation.
If you see some differences comparing to P-51 with the same engine, take a brief look to the remaining radiator installation exit  area for both planes, and no further explanation is necessary, I think.

P.S. The new model does not change heat balance basics, so nothing changed in this regard.

The temp guage for me stayed at 40 degrees or less. Did not rise on warmup with rads closed before takeoff. During flight, it was usually around 10 degrees with a variety of settings from cruise to full power including rpm changes all prolongued. Only once did the guage get to approximately 60 degrees. If the cooling process has been changed, should not the guage reflect that? Not sure what I am to expect in this regard.

    Thanks,

  11. Dec. 16 after upgrade the rad temp guage still runs very cool. Does not rise above 60 deg. at 20K alt. and on long descent drops below 10 degrees. Ran prolongued rpm's at this alt and experiemented with boost settings from full to 4 lbs. Temp guage did not deviate. Engine does not stop as it used to when on prolongued cruise despite cool temp guage.

What should the new numbers be?

About $100 CAD total to Fedex/government for the Orion throttle/joy combo last spring.  Prefer my WH F-18 joystick grip/WarBRD base combo for that part, but it only came as a combo originally.  The Orion throttle is great!

You are generous in your figures.  🙂
