  1. Thanks alot for the quick replys. Think i'll be ordering the rift!
  2. Thanks guys, how about snap views? Do they work?
  3. Hi guys, I am about to order a rift CV1 however, one thing that is holding me back is the worry of not being able to carry out missions and campaigns as well as what i can now due to lack of resolution. The reason I am asking this is due to reading ALOT of peoples opinions on here saysing its great for immersion and Low level flying gives you a great sense of speed. This is all great however im yet to see someone comment on the ability to manage youre aircraft properly during missions, for example, changing weapons profiles in the A10c, hooking targets etc on the TAD, or spotting targets on the TGP? I have put alot of hours into learning the A 10C and feel im an above average pilot in it now, i dont want to feel like im being handicapped by the resolution issue in VR. One quick question to add, do snap views work in VR? So i could snap to a close up of the CDU for example? Thanks
  4. Excellent! Thanks for the quick reply Swaty appreciate it!
  5. Hi, Just have a quick question. I own a TM thrustmaster hotas warthog and all works fine with DCS A10c (I don't even have the target software installed) However I have a profile for another sim namely bms falcon and it requires you to load the profile in target before launching the game. Will this mess up my dcs a10 controls? I appreciate this is not a bms forum but I thought I'd ask you guys as I really don't want to mess up my DCS A10 controls. Thanks
  6. Hi, I know FC3 requires Lock on Modern air combat to run. I have Lock on Air combat simulation (box art looks like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lock_On_Modern_Air_Combat.jpg ) Is this still considered modern air combat and will it run FC3? Thanks Daz
  7. Ive had this...I can never get my AI to rearm with me? Is there some kind of trick to this?
  8. Does dropping flares as you enter a known Manpad zone actually help at all? I am playing Op Bacteria and have the mission as Hawg flight to help infantry on the ground having a firefight across a river. Everytime with this mission without fail I get shot down by a manpad even when i'm popping flares like a madman. They still just lock, shoot and i'm hit within seconds. This mission seems impossible to me. Does anyone have any tips for this particular mission or avoiding Manpads? Thanks Daz
  9. Peter, this is the mission pack I am talking about.... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68802
  10. Thanks Habu, yes the smoke disappeared so I guess I just presumed that meant the troops had gone aswell, I wasn't aware the smoke had a lifespan. I'll give it another shot.
  11. I had a play for the first time with this mission today on my own using the multiplayer version. I was flying the Hawg mission. When I got to the IP i got my tasking to help take out enemies troops ambushing friendlies. After I was out of gun ammo I started to head back to the IP in the hope id get another tasking from the awacs but this wasnt the case, so I returned to the target area and all troops friendly and enemy had disappeared. How do I go about getting a new tasking in the above situation? Thanks and from what I played it looks like a great mission that i'll spend many hours playing.
  12. drz400dude, make sure the TGP is searching for the correct laser code given to you by JTAC in the 9 line (usually 1688 ). Make sure your TGP is "looking" in the general direction of the targets and then hit the LSS button on the TGP. It should acquire the laser quite quickly.
  13. just a quick update. Tried this again but used the second JTAC at the medium training zone (freq 42.000) that lased perfectly so I presume ENO is correct in saying that the first JTAC (freq 41.000) is being blocked by buildings or terrain.
  14. Got this app yesterday, one word...Excellent! Although I couldnt find Kutaisi in the airbase list
  15. I'm not at my own pc at the moment so I can't check but i'm 99% sure I use easy radio but had to select the frequency manually on this mission.
  16. ENO, now you mention the terrain blocking. There was alot of buildings surrounding the JTAC so maybe that is the problem, I tried the mission twice and the same thing happened. Darkwolf, I was using freq 41.000 I think its axeman 1-1, its in the briefing as the first listed JTAC at the medium difficulty training zone, I had trouble getting them to talk to me at first, just make sure you are transmitting using the correct radio and selecting the correct JTAC in the radio menu.
  17. Hi my first post here after lurking for a while. I have been trying the Dragon training pack's Jtac daytime training mission (on my own as a single A10). JTAC gives me coordinates and i find the targets on the TGP, however they say they will lase the target. I make sure the laser ID matches on the TGP and search after trasmitting "laser On" to JTAC but, the actual point JTAC is lasing is a point only about 50 metres away from the JTAC itself (about 2km away from the actual target.) Is this something im doing wrong or is it a problem with the mission? Thanks Daz
