  1. My X65 (had it for years, really like it...) stopped working a short while back. I'm thinking probably a windows 10 update. It shows up in device manager, says it needs the driver reinstalled, but the reinstall fails saying there's a file missing and to contact the manufacturer. The latest drivers I can find are from Jan of 2014, I believe these are the latest available. It'd been working great. Looks like Saitek has been acquired by Logitech whose support system just seems to take me round and round in circles and is no help at all. I really love this stick and would hate to have to switch to another. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Lol, ok, I feel like an idiot, that did the trick, thanks.
  3. I'm having a problem starting the missions. I unzipped them, put them in the multiplayer mission folder, open multiplayer, do a new server, select the weapons training mission, pick an aircraft, go to briefing, then choose Fly. it takes me to the A10 in the hanger, but I can't get any further... Everything seems to look as it should except there's a "pause" symbol blinking in the upper right of the screen. I've hit every key I can think to hit, but haven't figured out how to un pause it... what am I missing?
  4. 109? I'm not seeing the 109 as an option in mission builder. I've only got the 190 for WWII aircraft under Germany. Am I missing something or was that a typo and he meant to say 190 again...?
  5. Thanks for the replies. ShuRugal, the water looks a bit cold, but it is probably best to just jump in. thanks for the list, that'll be a big help. I've used the X65 for IL-2, IL-2 CoD, the A-10C, and the P-51. I've always left the game setup as the default and used the SST for config. Ran into trouble right at the start getting it to do what I wanted in the sims setup, so went to the SST and never looked back.
  6. Hi, I've been using the X65f for a couple of years now on the A-10C (and more recently on the P-51) and have (what I consider) a real good profile for the A-10C, my hands never leave the HOTAS. Mode 1 for takeoffs/landings and mode 2 for flying/attacks. If anyone would like to check it out, I'd be more than happy to share. This is my first entry into helicopters and being clueless was hoping that someone had a profile for the Ka-50 to get me started. Thanks, Rabble
  7. Just finished setting up my new system and can finally get back into the Hog, and see what helicopters are like. Went to the Saitek website and get an error page after clicking on the Download button. Anyone know where I can pick up the drivers/software to run this fine stick?
  8. Exactly the same Situation I'm in the exact same boat, Trouble Ticket # 23672 submitted over a week ago (and still no reply). I'm a DCS fan, pretty much an addict, so I'll keep trying to work with them for a while, but this poor response from customer service is not a good sign for the future of DCS. Their customer base, because of the learning curve and the system and accessories (HOTAS, TrackIR, etc) needed for a sim like this, is relatively small. I've seen things in these forums with predictions of it going main stream when (if) it gets World and the other modules on Steam, but I have a hard time seeing that happening. If they alienate too much of that base through frustration with terrible customer service (like buying the product, but not being able to use it), I'm worried about the future of DCS for any of us.
  9. Trouble Ticket # 23672 Put in the trouble ticket on 7-14-13 and still haven't had a response. :helpsmilie: pretty much says it all... so I can :pilotfly: in multiplayer!!
  10. Yes, I downloaded the standalone DCS A-10C from the DCS website a couple of months ago (version 1.1.1.1 is what it is now) and it works fine using my Steam Key. I didn't know there was a problem till I downloaded DCS World so I could get additional modules (I want the KA-50 and the P-51 to start) and do multiplayer. When I first purchased DCS A-10 back in 2011, I did the same thing, downloaded it from the DCS website, not from Steam, but used the Steam Key, and it worked fine. Not sure if i ever attempted to get into multiplayer, don't think I got that far, but i might've popped in for a peek. I can also still log into Steam and see it there as one of the usable items in my library. When I go into DCS World and try to go into an A-10C, it comes up with the window for the serial # with it already filled in with the Steam Key #. It won't proceed with that one saying I have a hardware conflict. I've only had this system for about a year and a half, so it's not the one I installed on when I first purchased DCS A-10. So, yes, I'm in single player in DCS A-10. the problem is getting into DCS World and through that getting into multi-player. I went ahead and purchased another copy of DCS A-10 from the DCS website figuring that key would work with "World" to activate the A-10, but now it gives me the bad serial # error. I've tried to copy/paste the serial # I got in the email, typing it in (very slowly) with and without the dashes multiple times but so far no joy. Still a lot of practicing i can do in solo, so I'm not suffering withdrawal, but i would really like to get into some of the other aspects. sorry for the length, but i'm trying to anticipate questions.
  11. I've just been on YouTube looking at some multiplayer videos. Last night spent some time as a spectator in a few open multiplayer server missions. Someone has got to figure this out for me and get me in there... I've got plenty to keep me busy in the standalone version training additional aspects of this sim, but multiplayer looks like a real kick and a good way to learn even more... PLEASE!!!!!! HELP!!!!!
  12. Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm sure it's the Serial #.
  13. Windows Registry Under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Eagle Dynamics DCS A-10C (Folder) (version 1.1.1.1) DCS World (Folder) (version 1.2.4.12179) Warthog (Folder) Keys (Folder) (LastNumber is the Steam Key) License0 (Folder) (Number is Steam Key) License1 (Folder) (Number is Steam Key) I don't want to lose the ability to use the 1.1.1.1 Steam stand alone version. Does this help?
  14. Error message. I tried typing it in and copy/paste both multiple times. the error message is: A-10C - error (this is in the upper frame of the error window) The system requires the correct Serial Number of the application to perform this operation. The Serial Number entered is wrong or mistyped. Enter a valid Serial Number and try again. I'm entering the serial # that came in the email after I bought it about an hour and a half ago. the window has a Back, Exit, and an Error report button. The error report comes to over 21MB. I didn't email it.
  15. Tried that multiple times, just to be sure...
  16. On June 20, 2011 I purchased DCS A-10C Warthog on my Steam account. I have it loaded on my current game system computer, it's different than what I had in 2011, and it's working fine using the activation key from Steam. I'd been a solo, off line player previously, but have recently put time in and new gear and decided I would like to try it online. I installed DCS World and tried to use the Steam key to activate the A-10 module, it gives a message about a hardware conflict. Rather than try to deal with support, I just went ahead and purchased it again from this site figuring it'd work with a new key from here, but now it's giving an error message saying the serial # is wrong. I copied and pasted from the confirming email. Any suggestions on how i can get this thing going? thanks, Rabble
  17. trim is your friend I found trim was more of a constant effort in WW2 prop AC, take up a P-47 in IL-2 to see what I mean. You get that huge prop spinning on the front of that enormous radial, and it puts out a lot of torque. Large wing and tail surfaces are more affected by the wind, etc. As long as both engines are at the same output, that’s not the case with an A-10 but you still have to contend with load balance, air resistance between the loads on each wing and wind is a factor to push you sideways or lift one wing more than the other. As was said above, if it’s convenient to use, once you start using it, it’ll become second nature and you’ll tweak it a lot. I’ve got pitch and roll trim controls on the hat under my index finger on the X65 throttle and rudder trim and airbrakes on the one under my middle finger. Use them all a fair bit. It can help you get the nose into position rolling in on an attack, or make it a lot easier to do air-to-air refueling. It will ease the strain of constantly applying pressure to the controls, but it also makes the plane fly more efficiently (and faster), using it in a turn can bring you around just a bit quicker (haven’t tested this last bit in an A-10, but it definitely helped turn quicker in WW2 AC). For dive bombing, I tend to set the trim for say 230kts as I make the approach, then when I retard the throttle to get to around 200kts or below before rolling in, the nose will drop making it a better flow to put it on target. Can even add one or two clicks on the way down, it’ll change the attitude without pushing forward on the stick. Do it gently, one click at a time in the direction you need. I usually start by getting on course at altitude and speed, then adjust pitch , then roll, then rudder (if needed) last, just remember to set the rudder dial back to center if you want to hit the button to revert to TO trim or it won’t light up. For AA refueling, I stabilize and trim before the pre-contact position, with the AC set as it will be when I move forward. Trim will be different after taking the GUN/Pac to safe, and changes when you open the nose fuel door. Trim for straight and level and you hardly have to touch the stick when you ease forward.
