There are both still in use so their systems are still Secret Défense. Even the symbology on their screen is likely to be protected. Anyone who talk about them risk several years of jail and thousands of euros of condamnation. It makes those plane unlikely to be seen. And before you quote the 2000c, it is a whole different story as it's no more in service.

I don't think a Rafale (or an Eurofighter) is realistically doable. I know some claim the contrary but I won't believe it unless I can see it/play it. They are just too modern and too much of their avionic is classified. For the next European airplane I would like to see a Jaguar A. It has seen some action, its systems are relatively simple, it was efficient and in use in several countries (though in other versions).

Neither the D or the C are true multirole. Eventually the C was used for AG duty whereas the D never was used for AA missions due to its nearly blind radar.

It seems the whole time I was not using the Vikhr properly and those words were told based on what I thought was the proper way to use them. I thought they used the laser from the Shkval to guide themselves, laser that overheat in a matter of seconds and require quite a long time before cooling down. Firing with the laser activated and waiting for it to cool down after so I could shoot again, I was able to fire only two missiles per pass. And 11 km is indeed a short range. I agree bombs or gun do suffer from that drawback to a larger extend but that is not why I prefer them.

You are lucky. From the launch to the end of the explosions I'm down to less than 20 FPS with a Core i5 4670 and a GTX970 when firing rockets.

My computer is having a very hard time rendering rocket explosions so even if I would like to use them, I don't. Is that not an issue for you ?

Vikhr seems to be a popular choice. I don't really like them because they require the firing plane to keep it's trajectory until the impact, they have a short range and they are not very accurate. I prefer bombs, rockets and guns because they are fire&forget (well kind of) so you can make evasive manoeuvres right after having fired them. How many vihkr do you fire in one pass ?

Whatever you prefer when you have to deal with armored vehicles. Why the heavy Kh-29 if I may ask ?

Hello everyone, I was wondering, out of curiosity: what are your favorite loadouts on the Su-25T for anti-armor missions ?

I am not arguing the fact that the 2000 is a light fighter whereas the F-15 and the Su-27 are heavy fighter. Those are facts not to be debated. My whole idea with my initial comment was just to say that comparing in terms of capabilities two planes that were not supposed to be in opposite side was less interesting than comparing it to what would have been its logical opponent. And I was using the 27 because my understanding of the MiG-29 was that it was designed as a defensive fighter so not really supposed to enter enemy airspace. I just wanted to orient the debate on a comparison that seemed more interesting to me than the one with the F-15.

No, I meant the 2000 would have been an opponent to the Su-27. By the way I don't think you can say the Su-27 and the F-15 are equal, at least in DCS. But this last point as already been enough discussed in this forum. My point is that to be fair you should compare the 2000 with the Su-27 not with the F-15. Because back in the 80's an offensive from the east would have been composed of bombers escorted by Su-27 not by F-15.

I don't think the F-15 was the kind of threat the Mirage was intended to counter. I think it was more designed as a guardian against Russian bombers entering the French airspace. Its main opponent would then have been the Su-27 which is similar in terms of capacity I think (according to what is modelled in DCS)

I developed a software (for myself) not so long ago that would compute the point to aim on the visor of an il-2 to hit a target with an iron bomb. I only considered the initial parameters of the delivery (the attitude of the plane) in the computation. However for short time of flight it is reasonably accurate. I would very much like adding drag coefficient to my calculations but they are hard to find for WWII ordnance. I don't think loft bombing is a good idea in th Su-25T because it really lack the speed and the agility to those maneuvers. In an F-16 I pull 4/5g to loft my bombs and I thing the Su-25t would take so much incidence from this it would just stall. However I don't have much knowledge on aerodynamic or on the Su-25T so it is just a guess.

Had the Viggen been provided with a TGP and/or a laser designator for its air to ground missions ? I am not particularly interested in this plane but I would love to have a fast jet able to carry out precision strike.

As far as I know all official documents (flight manual for instance) are still confidential. You may found a few interesting books but nothing really technical.

No. It has the RDI radar which is not compatible with the Mica. You are mistaking with the 2000-5 which is a modernised version of the 2000C.
