  1. What is your end state? If it is to just have all the modules in one install of DCS you do not need to get the keys validated in steam to have them work. My only steam valid modules are A10C and Combined Arms. But all of my modules run through either install of DCSWorld. -C
  2. Just did some digging, I may not be correct about steam creating an account for you with ED. I was looking at my account and it appears it is an old account I made many moons ago. Regardless if you have the serials from steam you can bind them to yer ED account. Also for my own edification I wanted to see about the compatibility of Steam purchased modules working in stand alone. I copied my A10C folder from my Steam DCSWorld over to my stand alone install. Works no problem. Again to clarify I did NOT re-download the A10C in the stand alone from I simply copied my Steam downloaded and installed module into the stand alone DCS world and it works.. I do not see any reason why P-51 or Huey would not do the same. -C
  3. While I cannot speak specifically about the Huey or P-51, I assume they should work the same as follows. I have successfully moved my MI-8 and FC3 (both non steam) to my steam DCS world. All of my modules launch from my Steam DCS world, and I have no issues with multiplayer. All It took was first installing into the stand alone DCS world, then copying the specific module from the /mods/aircraft/(specific aircraft) folder from the stand alone into the Steam DCS. For example: 1. I install FC3 to my stand alone DCSworld: D:/Eagle dynamics/DCSWorld/ 2. I copied from: D:/Eagle dynamics/DCSWorld/Mods/aircrafts the "Flaming Cliffs" folder 3. I then paste the "Flaming Cliffs" folder to: D:/Steam Games/SteamApps/common//DCSWorld//Mods/aircrafts. The only thing you have to be sure is that on ED you have all of the modules associated with the same account. If you do not do this step multiplayer will NOT work. If you are unsure of this you can copy the keys from Steam and use the search on the ED website. This will show what account the modules are associated with, I had an issue with mine but soon figured out that the actual DCSworld was associated with a different account than my other modules. I think when you purchase from steam it automatically creates an account with ED under your steam account name. When I first purchased the MI-8 (in my excitement I did no research) before the steam version was out, I found a second account with my keys for DCS world and A10C which I had purchased on Steam. This can be found using the serial number check on the ED website, under the personal link. I simply unbound the keys from the account that steam created, and bound them to the account that I had created on ED to purchase games. I suppose the easiest thing to do here would be to bind all the keys to your Steam created ED account. That way any future purchases either on Steam or directly from ED will be associated with the one account. Hope this helps -C
  4. Biba I am in the same boat as you. I have 27” monitor and play at a resolution of 2560X1440. I also have been playing with trying to balance between what I feel is a natural position vs playability w/ the tiny /masked HUD. I found in a thread about exporting the HUD a method to change how the HUD is displayed. I have not been able to dig too much yet, and I am fairly new to DCS, but maybe we figure it out here. Check this thread. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89974 If you read though it you will see a few ways to get the HUD to display differently. Editing the HUD_init.lua file allows you to modify the tye of HUD. The three HUD types that I’ve found in this thread: COLLIMATOR, COMON, and HELMET. Some photos showing how each look from my default head position, leaned forward, and right and left. Here is the link to the album so you can view them at full resolution if you want. https://plus.google.com/photos/115957688958801642530/albums/5941907042356164273?authkey=CJLnkeKoo_zTvwE COLLIMATOR: default HUD setting in the game. COMMON: appears to bring the HUD display back to a position on the HUD glass itself. HELMET: Turns it into an HMD, just follows your eye point. But it does display it in a to low position. Note that in anything other than collimator the edges of the HUD are fixed and anything that falls outside of this area is simply not displayed. This can be fixed by editing some parameters in HUD_base_page.lua. Even doing this however, you are still left with the sides of the HUD being masked by the (virtual) physical structure of the HUD. What I am trying to figure out is if there is a way to set it to the COMMON option but then bring the HUD display back toward the pilot more. This will not give a realistic representation of how the HUD works in the real world but I think it would be a reasonable compromise. -C
