  1. Still working through the tutorials also....I have run into this issue many times,,,eventualy I figure it out. If you do one little incy bincy thing out of order..hit a wrong button, turn a dial the wrong way it's time to restart......I am replaying the nav tutorial again because I hit the wrong button on my joystick.
  2. saw this posted after my last post. will re compute.
  3. Thanks for the great comeback! Very helpful! I managed to find the airfield, land and park A-10C! Not the most perfect landing (used all of the runway) but the plane is not damaged....forgot the airbreaks are in increments..looked over at my wing and said oops and quickly got them the rest of the way up. With the HSI just to be sure I understand......if the line is vertical and to my right and the arrow is pointing to my right......that would mean I am flying beside the runway which would be on my right? If all things were the same except the arrow was pointing straight up that would mean I am going to be flying beside the run way?
  4. Thanks Rongor, Is the neared direction something a pilot knows before starting a flight or something the tower will give him. Is it somewhere on the MFD? I am wondering how I would get this info if the tutor did not tell me.? Lookin foreward to hearing back....thanks for the help! takin 'er up now.
  5. I am working through the various tutorials and they are starting to make more sense but I certainly don't have it all down pat. At them moment I am working on the landing tutorial with ILS. I do fine up until I radio the tower and it gives me coordinates of 228,30. I am not sure what I am suppose to do with 228 for 30 as well as qfe 29,89 Am I not seeing anything on my HUD to steer towards beyond the tadpole? Also the tutor tells me to set the HSI to 130 (if I am remembering correctly) What is 130 corresponding to. He just told me to set it w/o an explanation. I probably need to revisit the nav tutorial again. There certainly is a lot of information.......but I am actually making baby steps and doing better as I go. Thanks for any help!
  6. Yes indeed! I have been youtubin' away! I just glitched the navigation tutorial....time to start again! I guess after rinsing and repeating you eventually learn a thing or two! Still trying to come to grips with understanding it. Small milestone today.....I did a solo start up and downloaded flight info ( successfully I think, basically mimicking the start up tutorial). I used notes but I was familiar with locations in the cockpit so that's a start!
  7. I recall reading somewhere that there is a procedure for uninstalling so as to avoid using a activation. Will deleting local content use an activation?
  8. I have switched over to non STEAM for DCS and am looking to uninstall from STEAM. If I uninstall does use one of the activations? Is there a specific way I should uninstall from STEAM? Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the reply! Still pluggin' away at it.
  10. Sometimes I would like to review what the instructor says after the written instructions disappear, especialy when I think I have followed the instructions and the tutorial does not continue. Is it possible to get he written instructions back after they disappear? Sometimes a I get pretty far in to a tutorial and then I am stuck having to restart it. Thanks!
  11. I have also (tonight actualy) started to get away from the STEAM installation. I purchased Combined Arms and STEAM does not recognize my game key yet. So once everything is honky dory with this version (still downloading my planes) I will uninstall the STEAM version and go this route. I will say that the bandwidth /download speed isn't too peachy with the non-STEAM version though.
  12. I decided to get away from STEAM version but it sure seems slower on the downloads..I would like to download my planes a little faster. I downloaded the torrent link and opened it but all it says is a bunch of this.......... 8:announce37:http://tracker.eagle.ru:2710/announce7:comment52:P-51D module for DCS: World 1.2.5 (download version)10:created by26:Enhanced-CTorrent/dnh3.3.213:creation datei1378309074e4:infod6:lengthi827616280e4:name29:P-51D_1.2.6.17746.255_263.exe12:piece lengthi1048576e6:pieces15800:õs9u#dÑyƒ‘îw^ÈäÉHäf†8üÀp(!ˆÿF…ÔgšÜ.r^@fÖU‚Å&˜B‰ò˦ ™gõZÅ› öÅÒ‰@PÄïïßY/³|7n©÷¸×Gozñ What am I suppose to do with it? Thanks in advance.
  13. Thanks for the info...kind of makes a case for just using the non steam version of dcs and migrating back over.
  14. It tells me I have an invalid product code. I have tried typing in the code as well as copy / paste the code I received from Eagle Dynamics. Do I need to wait for STEAM to receive a batch of serials or is it not suitable to add Combined Arms to STEAM? Thanks for any info!
  15. I went ahead and ordered mine yesterday! Sounds like it is a quality product. Figured the A-10 is going to be a project to learn and this can only help! Thanks to both of you for the links and advise!
  16. Is this something still in the works or abandoned by DCS? I see some folks made their own. Are folks still making those available? I only see a manual available for the Black Shark from DCS.
  17. Well, I have taken to the skys online....managed to land safely a few times with some helpful advise from fellow flyers.......but still can not get the tutorial to work lol! Love the quality of this sim....more are in my future.
  18. I still have not been able to get the tutorial to continue. I did manage to land again though. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong though.
  19. It tells me to get the rpm to 2700 and turn off the targeting. I do both of those things by taking my "P" lever to 2700 rpm's and I click the targeting switch it wants me to turn off so as to protect it from possible damage on landing. My manifold pressure is 30. The little helper things do not turn off and the tutorial does not continue. Is this a bug? I have actually managed to land (not consistently mind you) by having a general idea of where everything should be (flaps, rpm's, manifold pressure etc) from outside the tutorial in a quick mission. Thanks for any help!
