  1. Would be nice to be able to call up a 2D representation of any panel, and interact with it in Alt-F1 view, especially those panels which are difficult to get a good angle on when using TrackIR.

Perhaps there could be a small line-diagram / schematic of the cockpit layout in the corner of the screen, and hovering the mouse over a certain section would highlight the panel or group of panels, then if you click, it opens up, and is interactive, until you close it.

You might be disappointed, while the in game settings are the same whether you run ST or MT.

I understand the settings will remain largely, if not exactly, the same. What I mean is that I only want to be worrying about the same settings which affect performance in ST - cloud detail, view distance, level of detail, display resolution etc etc.

I don't need to be buying third party software such as process lasso, and messing about with various settings outside of the DCS UI to tell my processor which cores to use, or manually editing config files etc. This, for me, will be a showstopper and I'll find another sim if that's what we are expected to keep on doing to use DCS at satisfactory performance levels.

That being said, I trust ED have this in hand and I'll give them my trust to provide us with a MT version of DCS which performs well, hopefully even better than my current ST experience.

I don’t do any of this and MT runs totally fine for me. It’s possible that people create their own problems by screwing with their PC too much. The best thing is to just run MT and report a bug if you see one. Provide all the correct data as well, specs, logs etc.

MT, for me, has been an utter nightmare. Unplayable. Tried it a few times and each time it devolved to slideshow framerates every couple minutes or so. I never made any changes to any settings out of concern for it having a knock-on effect elsewhere. Single Thread has always been smooth as silk.

I'll wait and see for when MT is the only show in town. I'm generally positive that ED will have ironed out the vast majority of the issues I and others have been experiencing. I'm always in favour of utilizing the available hardware efficiently and understand that this is the way to go.

  4. As long as there's no need to fiddle with windows settings (and others) and manually update config files.

Hopefully Multi-thread simply works without having to fiddle and tweak outside of the DCS UI. No problem adjusting settings within DCS itself to fine tune performance, but I'm just not interested in having to manually tell my CPU which cores to use, edit config files, change OS settings etc.

I fully understand that during experimental / beta phase, some manual tweaking was necessary, but hopefully seeing as there will be no Single Thread version available, it works 'out of the box' with minimal to no settings adjustment within the UI

That being said, I'm looking forward to improved performance and I trust you guys have this in mind as well.

  5. Definitely seems like an issue with slewing MMS. I'm using my analog stick on my TM Warthog Throttle, but also have the same issue when I disconnected my throttle and set up one of the analog sticks on an X-box remote.

I use the X-box remote when in the AH-64 and have no such issues at all.

Hopefully Polychop have managed to recreate this issue and find the cause.

Loving this module so far. I wish the AH-64 could get a similar AI interface.

  6. Has any thought been given to implementing a visual / drag & resize interface for setting the position and size of displays such as George AI or the displays when in Alt+F1 view.

Doesn't need to be in-game but could be something via the settings.

Exiting / messing with config files / re-starting / exiting again to make adjustments / re-starting etc etc is somewhat on the tedious side. I can imagine that re-starts may still be necessary, but the trial and error would be so much less tedious and most cases would involve only a single restart, and not multiple

Could apply to all aircraft, so if this needs to be moved I understand.

I've been working on/off on something like this, but as I spend about 99% of my time in the front seat as it is, I'd like a little more info as to what you might consider relevant/necessary. Like techniques and tips? Or just get down into the "press X to do Y"?

Glad to hear there's some like-minded people

While I've only just started getting back into the AH-64 and have decided to focus on the CPG role (and I'm going to be doing my own manual/forum-reading/video-watching on this) I was wondering about the following:

    - I know it's been mentioned by many others - the ability to start a mission in the CPG seat

     - Whether or not there could be some kind of two-seater autostart/autoshutdown routine i.e. press a key combo, and the pilot starts going through their start-up/shutdown sequence, but there will be pauses or points at which the CPG might need to do something before the pilot can move on with their checklist (if such points exist), perhaps guiding the CPG with a prompt/message, and also some things each seat can do at their own pace, until the sequence is complete.

     - Perhaps some kind of expanded pilot flight commands eg taxiing, rolling take-off, rolling landing, 'land-on-that helipad which I'm looking at', 'take off and start flying the flight-plan' etc

     - Perhaps some kind of ability to command/request the pilot to perform a rocket attack on a designated target

I'm sure I'll think of more, and it's still very early days in my re-exploration of the Apache, but stuff like this might make for a more immersive experience.

It is indeed very relaxing to sit there, taking care of the radar and the weapons. Love that RIO seat in the Tomcat too! (I have always only flown the Fenix with autopilot always on and ILS CAT3 autoland in FS2020 - that might explain a lot) that´s why using the front seat feels just like using an autopilot while controlling all the cockpit navigation computers and systems.

Adding this two-seater concept of many planes and helicopters was the best idea ever! So relaxing and immersive.

    Completely agree

  8. Any chance there could be a dedicated training section covering, in a fair amount of detail, the CPG role?

I've seen some posts requesting the ability to start the mission in the CPG seat, which I'd like to see happen

But I'm talking training missions covering how to fulfil the CPG role all the way from startup, navigation, sensors, weapons, to shut-down.

From what I've found so far, I enjoy the CPG seat more than the back seat, and there must be many out there who feel the same.

I'm sure a campaign from the CPG seat would be awesome, but would probably take a fair bit of scripting to set up.

  9. Just a suggestion that the page for all terrains include an image file among the screenshots, showing the exact area of coverage.

None of them seem to include this, and it's the main thing I'd like to know.

I realize that we can often find some kind of map on the discussion forums, but I'd suggest that each page in the store should include something as well

Just a little gripe, but I think there's some merit to it.

  10. Firstly, really really nice DIY TEDAC grips. Well done with that. It's a near certainty you'll be covered for the F-15E pilot and WSO

I've been thinking of getting a Left & Right hand Virpil Constellation Alpha.

The two aircraft I plan on focusing most time on (other than my favourite - the A-10C) are the AH-64 and the F-15E

These joysticks will be able to cover most, if not all CPG (TEDAC) / F-15E WSO functions

I'm currently getting by OK in the AH-64 CPG seat with a PS5 remote (I spend 100% of my time in the CPG seat with George as pilot - I currently cannot enjoy flying the AH-64 with my HOTAS Warthog, but that's just me, and I find the CPG role fascinating), but I think the left & right Virpil Constellation Alphas should help me cover the F-15E WSO functions and improve my AH-64 TEDAC control as well.

  11. I looked and couldn't find a wishlist item for this

I am really enjoying playing as CPG.

Perhaps there could be some training lessons set up to operate only from the CPG seat, which could cover more detailed aspects of the CPG role/s

    Hopefully this can be considered

I will think of it. Maybe we will open up the preorders to our previous customers first. I am not sure if we can limit the sales for each customer. Will look into it.

Apache MFD moulds have now been ordered. To us, this is huge

Seems only fair for long-standing customers.

I will be a first time customer, and will be happy to wait my turn.

I really hope these will be popular, and subsequent batches will be made. And if they are really very popular, hopefully consideration will be given to additional things such as TEDAC controller etc, but one thing at a time 😃

Best of luck with great sales on these. I'll most certainly own a pair in the future.

  13. Morning all

    Loving the AH64 so far.

I couldn't find other reports on this. I have a strange issue in Alt+F1 view, where I can see the CPG's floating/disembodied head (screenshot below)

Is this a feature, for multiplayer(to allow the pilot to see the general direction the CPG is looking)? Or is it a bug?

    Thanks

  14. Has anybody tried using one of the keypads which can be added to the PS or XBox remotes? Something like this one below (made by Numskull). It appears they pair via bluetooth with the console (or via the controller, it's hard to tell), but I'm wondering if they will be able to pair with the PC and be seen as a device in DCS, where we could configure it as our Keyboard Unit.

Anybody tried using one of these? Does it work or not?

If it does, I think it would be pretty neat. I'm already getting a PS5 controller to set up as my TEDAC, as described above. Just wondering if this would be a worthwhile addition.

I believe the OP is referring to the Single Missions that come packaged with modules, not to the training missions. So I have no idea why the training missions were highlighted in Wags' FAQ above.

OK, fair enough. I must have misinterpreted the OP after seeing the list which Bedouin posted. My mistake.
