  1. You can continue with Windows 7. DCS will not be switching to DirectX 12 (windows 10 only) and will rather go with Vulcan, which is platform independent and works on Windows 7 also.

Just note that companies may stop developing HW drivers eventually, so you will eventually (in some years) will have to switch as you will be upgrading.

Windows 7 support will end in 2020 which is probably the time when vendors will stop supporting it with driver releases.

  2. Haha that would be a great ongoing joke!

Well that comes through my mind every time when new module comes out. I'm always like "YES, this is the last module I will buy, because I will not feel like flying anything else ever!"

And then somebody announces a new module and I'm like...

But to be honest The one and only I'm waiting for is A-7 ... but of course I will buy anything else that will come out. :D

  3. Everything is working fine, the Cougar problem was solved with contact cleaner aerosol and is doing well. All graphics settings are at max, but I'm little disapointed comparing the DCS videos with what I got inside the simulator...they are not quite the same. Do I have to install FC3?

You mean not the same in quality?

Running max settings on 1050ti will not work for you. You will have to reduce them a bit. :)

  4. I'm thinking buying this rig, do you guys beleive I can get 30fps at full Graphics?

You should do well enough with this system. You will probably not be able to max the settings but 30fps with most options on high should be possible in 1080p. The recent 2.5 optimisations are good even for AMD cards.

The graphics card market is bad at the moment though. Demand is high due to the mining craze which pumped the prizes up. DDR memory is right behind.

  5. "Some time (maybe one-two weeks, we hope no more) for wide test of this procedure."

Does this now mean you will be missing the "End of January" deadline you have promised?

One week takes us to the 31st, and 2 weeks takes us to February. If you're testing it on the 31st you are sure as hell cutting it fine!

I suppose the Open beta will be available this week and the release one in "few" weeks as stated.

But they will still meet their deadline to release the 2.5 in January. Even if it is beta, it will still be available to the whole public.
