I wonder how many people will want to be RIOs instead of Pilots.
-
Are you on budget? If yes then go with Ryzen. If not, Intel will be better, not by much, but it will be.
We may see a big difference though when the game switches to Vulkan API (and hopefully more cores will be utilized).
-
For Ryzen build, yes it makes a difference. Also using two slots only combined with high mhz is the best combination.
-
Speaking about the upcoming Vulkan (hopefully this year), is there any way how I can help with testing it? I suppose that it will not hit the open beta for a long time.
-
I'm waiting for the A-7 for so long already. Too bad it's not even announced yet. :(
-
Thank you for the comments.

I'm interested in how these GPU handle DCS. I have a new freesync monitor I would like to use fully and I'm considering buying Vega 64. I'm well aware of the differences to 1080ti. I just want to know some first hand experience from someone who already have it. Thank you.
-
Where is the A-7? I'm crying a bit inside. :(
-
You can continue with Windows 7. DCS will not be switching to DirectX 12 (windows 10 only) and will rather go with Vulcan, which is platform independent and works on Windows 7 also.
Just note that companies may stop developing HW drivers eventually, so you will eventually (in some years) will have to switch as you will be upgrading.
Windows 7 support will end in 2020 which is probably the time when vendors will stop supporting it with driver releases.

how would i go about doing this with bands?
It's a long time since I owned X-52 but this should help you.
https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=19638
This is going through the software setup too.
You can also download already created profiles in the download section of the eagle dynamics webpage. Maybe one of the have bands set.
-
The easiest way is to sell your current memory and buy new ones. Its not worth the trouble to mix them up.
Just buy new 2x8GB kit and be done with it.
-
I do not recommend using the X-52 slider for zoom, you will have a lot of problems with stability of the image. Either use buttons for the zoom, or set the axis as bands and set the outer bands as key presses for the zoom buttons.

Haha that would be a great ongoing joke!
Well that comes through my mind every time when new module comes out. I'm always like "YES, this is the last module I will buy, because I will not feel like flying anything else ever!"
And then somebody announces a new module and I'm like...
But to be honest The one and only I'm waiting for is A-7 ... but of course I will buy anything else that will come out. :D
-
Relax, it will be out in due time. :)
-
Are you doing this every time a new module comes out? :D

Everything is working fine, the Cougar problem was solved with contact cleaner aerosol and is doing well. All graphics settings are at max, but I'm little disapointed comparing the DCS videos with what I got inside the simulator...they are not quite the same. Do I have to install FC3?
You mean not the same in quality?
Running max settings on 1050ti will not work for you. You will have to reduce them a bit. :)

I suppose the main reason why people ask for the option to mute RIO will be acrobatic flying in which case you do not want to listen to him ... like at all.
That is possibly the only reason I can understand in this case.
-
I thought that we will see full Top Gun campaign in Nevada with combat deployment later. :)
So I suppose that will be something that will come later...
-
Having all the switched preset like the A-10C would be great.
-
Hopefully with Vulkan in pipeline, we could see Linux support too?

Anyone interested to visit Prague? :)
There is an aviation museum in Prague Kbely... and also there is an airshow in Pardubice each year which you can get to by train from Prague. It will be during 2-3 June.

Thanks!
You should do well enough with this system. You will probably not be able to max the settings but 30fps with most options on high should be possible in 1080p. The recent 2.5 optimisations are good even for AMD cards.
The graphics card market is bad at the moment though. Demand is high due to the mining craze which pumped the prizes up. DDR memory is right behind.

"Some time (maybe one-two weeks, we hope no more) for wide test of this procedure."
Does this now mean you will be missing the "End of January" deadline you have promised?
One week takes us to the 31st, and 2 weeks takes us to February. If you're testing it on the 31st you are sure as hell cutting it fine!
I suppose the Open beta will be available this week and the release one in "few" weeks as stated.
But they will still meet their deadline to release the 2.5 in January. Even if it is beta, it will still be available to the whole public.

It looks so good! It must have taken a lot of time and work to do it like this. The animation of the displays is simply incredible.
And to be honest, now I want my bobble head too! :D
Will server hosts be able to "ban" JESTER in MP?
in DCS: F-14A & B
Posted
Additional level of control for the hosting server is always welcome. Even more so if the feature can have performance impact on the server. We will have to see how RIO will affect multiplayer performance, maybe RIO will not be even usable in heavy lag situation.
