  1. The Mig21 is great, but I think it would be hard to compare the quality from 2 different 3rd party devs unless they do the same thing. If BELSIMTEK would make a mig21 too it could be just as detailed. I mean their F-86 is great, but the gameplay is not as deep because there is less things to do on the plane. Also customer communication does not matter at all for me. All I care about is wether the plane is going to be great. And unless I fly a VEAO module I have no opinion bad or good about them. BELSIMTEK never talks but their modules are awesome. that is all that matters.
  2. I was able to kill an abrams with a fab500 but it was a near direct hit, bomb was probably 2-3m off target.
  3. Ok the game fooled me, fun story: As ericoh mentioned, the chute key only appears to work when the thrust is at near 100%. However what actually happens is the chute tearing off by itself, however if I press my detach key around the same time that moment more or less overlaps with the tearing off. All with the button cap not removed. Works flawlessly with the cap off. Silly DCS is so hardcore it plays tricks on you
  4. As ericooh said, it only appears to work when I am near 100% thrust. Not sure if that is a bug or by design? Also the cover for the switch does not matter, if I am near 100% thrust the hotkey I assigned works and detaches it, but it dont do that if I am at 50%.
  5. Thanks but I dont mean the recovery mode (A) but the stabilizer (LALT + A)
  6. When using the KH66 on ground targets, how precise does the pipper have to be on it when lock is pressed? In the tutorial it advises to aim slightly below the target (ship) and it still hits dead on. When doing the same on a tank, will the missile home in to the spot the pipper locked on or will the missile snap to a target near it?
  7. What is the stabilizer SAU for? When I turn it on the plane appears to be stabilized to whatever the nose is pointing at (heading and attitude) but I cant use any cyclic to influence it. I was thinking the stabilizer is only supposed to dampen the control input?
  8. The chute cant be detached on the latest patch.
  9. Tried again, now with dropping to 200km/h before touching the runway at crazy high AOA (cant see runway). Now I can land without breaking it. But the manual mentions that faster, low AOA landings are better because visibility. Any tips on landing with 300+ km and low AOA? For me the plane always sinks too fast. And why is this plane so dangerous to land while the F-86 is so easy to land? I can eyeball landings with the F86 from crazy angles with no regard to AOA or drop, the gears never break or bounce, even if I come it at 400kmh. Runway length is another problem but the F86 has excellent belly slide capabilities once the gear tears off when you overshoot runway.
  10. The 400hz tone playing when the AC is on is way too loud and very annoying. I modded it quiet on my installation. It pierces through the engine sounds even and can get very disturbing to peopel with sensitive hearing.
  11. The track in the attachment features 2 landing attempts. The second was smooth and yet the suspension on the gears act like a jack in the box, bouncing my plane. Its not me, its the suspension being way too stiff. I will not believe its supposed to be like this until I see the lead developer of the mig land 3 times in a row on a live stream. mig21_landing3.trk
  12. What you said basically is "delta wings are the easiest to land but they are the hardest to land". I appreciate everyone's detailed instructions for landing and I will make use of that information to get better, however I still think the suspension on this plane is acting too weird. Which is causing these issues I have on landing. Either its jacking the plane back up or simply breaking unless I get the tiny window where it is just right right. Which I think is not consistent with 1. The difficulty of landing with other planes, because It is very easy to land the F86 or the A10c. The WW2 planes are tricky to land, but I can see why, for example if I bounce I dropped too fast and they dont have springs to absorb the shock. 2. The Mig21 has huge tyres, and the gear looks way sturdier and has supposed springs to cushion the drop, but as I explained before that, it either breaks or bounces the plane up
  13. And another attempt, even smoother with the plane hitting the ground with all wheels at the same time almost. mig21_landing2.trk
  14. I have attached a landing attempt which I would consider smooth, I can land safely like that for 100% A10c 80% F-86 60% ww2 planes However on the mig, as soon as my gear touches the ground, its like a spring loaded catapult. Take a look at the track file in the attachment if you like. mig21_landing.trk
  15. Thanks for everyone's advice, however considering how easy it is to land with an F86 which has a flimsier set of landing gears and is 10 years older, the Mig21 landings are too rough and difficult. Even if I go down at a smooth angle, if there is the tiniest amount of banking one wheel instantly bends, flipping the plane on its side or the whole aircraft bounces back up into the air, and on the second bounce the gears are completely wrecked. And this is the weird part, the plane very quickly drops to the ground when losing airspeed compared to the sabre ( I assume because less lift on delta wings on low speed) but as soon as the gear touches the ground it bounces back up in the air as if the springs in the gears only purpose in life is to catapult the plane back into the air with so much force that it overcomes the migs afore described desires to quickly lose altitude on low speeds. I just think the Mig21 being more modern and more advanced than the F-86 and only up to 3 tons heavier and with a visibly more massived set of gears should not be this unconsistently harder to land.
  16. I hope they will fix/adjust the landing gear in the next patch. On most landings either it bounces off too hard or one wheel simply breaks causing the plane to tumble down the runway like a metal trashcan.
  17. But this contradicts it:
  18. If the switch is up, does that mean the system is on or off? The tooltip is confusing. Also what other things need to be set for the system to work? Manual says:
  19. No my throttle was at 55% (on the control indicator) I have attempted a landing with the BLC switch in the down position (default is up) and the plane seemed to behave more liked I expect and the landing worked. Can someone clarify what happens when the switch is up or down and how that affects the plane descending?
  20. What is the BLC for and is it by default enabled? I find my mig dropping 20m/s on landing approach with 600 IAS and the nose being level.
  21. I think take-offs are too rough, feels like I am taking off on gravel. Also most of the times bouncing is happeing which gets worse and shortly before the end of runway, the back tires of the gears get damaged. I still manage to take off, but with blown tires. Countering that by keeping the nose down to eliminate bouncing only increases the violence of which the gears keep hitting on the runway. Pulling the nose up early does not work either because then I lose forward speed and cant get into the air before the runway is ended. The manual specifically mentions that the gears are made for rough landing so I wonder why they cant absorb or not handle like taking off on rocks, while any other plane, even the 30 ton A10 can smoothly take off.
  22. Getting the same problem, however only on a friend's server. He does not own the Mig module and he just updated the game. It can not be on my side because I can play it on any other server.
  23. When pressing the IFF button on the radar the following thing happens: 1. pressing it with mouse in the cockpit, the button depresses and unpresses when the mouse is let go. I suppose that is the default behaviour. 2. When pressing a joystick assigned key, the button stays depressed. However on both times the functionality remains the same, the targets are IFF checked and are reset after a few seconds, so it is just a visual bug.
  24. How to use cluster bombs properly with the mig? in the average dive bombing the radius at which the bomblets scatter is barely larger than 40m and unless the target is bunched with vehicles it will rarely ever damage more than one target. Can the fuze be changed so it explodes at a larger height?
