  1. I am buying a touchscreen this week to position in the same spot. My main screen is a 40" Sony Bravia tv that I have mounted on the wall. Your video is fairly dark so I can't tell, but how do you have the monitor positioned? Is it just on the stand on the desk or did you have to do a custom mount/setup?
  2. No the slew control on the throttle was not functioning as the slew axis. When I plugged it in the game couldn't find the x/y axis of that button so it assigned it the x/y axis of the stick since it didn't see an axis on the throttle that it was use to seeing. If you open up the target program you can actually watch as buttons are depressed and they are registered with the software. My slew control would not register within Target at all. It wasn't an assignment issue as I had originally hoped. The board was just flat out bad.
  3. Yep I went in and the mouse axis on the throttle was not detected in Target at all. So had to return the stick.
  4. I am actually using the Thrustmaster now so not concerned about the x52 anymore. I may be mistaken in the assignment but in my control profile on the Throttle assignment for slew control it has Joy_X and Joy_Y. Is this what others have in their profile in the control section. My new concern is that I may have received a bad controller if these settings are in fact correct and the mouse on the right throttle is just not being recognized.
  5. I just recently upgraded from an x52 to the Warthog and have issue with the slew control on my throttle. The game recognized everything else (had to change the trim buttons due to using Track IR) but the slew function was not properly assigned. It assigned the Joystick axis to the slew controls for some reason. I tried to manually go in and change it but when I try to set the slew axis to the mouse axis it won't recognize it. Has anyone else had this problem. I found another thread via the search but it was closed without an answer.
  6. Heavy odds are that the component in short supply is the screen. Originally they planned on using a 5" screen for the dev kit and that screen was discontinued. They then switched to a 7" x800 screen. Odds are that there is little to no demand for such a screen and production of that screen has halted.
  7. This is only for the Dev kits and at this point now it really doesn't make a ton of sense to buy a Dev kit with as close as they are rumored to be on the Crystal Cove/HD/Consumer version. This really shouldn't impact their timeline for the final version at all.

  9. Well the hog is in the house. Couldn't wait. This thing is no joke. Stick feels very close to realistic. Cant see me getting much sleep tonight, but going to need some because carpentry on the chair begins tomorrow.
  10. Just looked and the Microcenter about 20 minutes from my house has it in stock for $499. Now obviously it would be fantastic to get one, even used, for $250 but I am going to guess the odds of that happening are probably up there with me going and buying $10 in scratch offs and winning what would be the offsetting $250. That being said how often do they come up for sale at reasonable prices. Reasonable considering the value that has to be placed on the gimmie gimmie impulse gratification of having it in my hands and flying tonight. I am actually giddy about being able to break open my stash of nomex gloves from my uniform boxes in the attic. It never felt right flying with them using a plastic stick and it never really felt right flying without them. Maybe I'll throw on one of my old bags and helmets just to see my wife's reaction when she gets home.
  11. This is exactly the advice that I was looking for. Pretty much what I was trying to get a feel for from current users.
  12. Oh both will be done. It's just a question of timing and prioritization. Thanks for the responses all. I think I'm going to take the Thrustmaster plunge. Now to see if I can get a decent price on one somewhere. Saw that officemax has a coupon code coming up on the 25th for 25% off an online order. Can't find a description of what is excluded and am almost certain the stick is on that list, but for $125 I figure its worth the effort to wait and see. But now that I've decided boy do I feel like driving to Microcenter today just to have it in my hands tonight.
  13. Very good to know but sorry for your results with the Titan. That in combination with the oncoming EDGE does lend itself toward an easy decision. With the hit and miss nature of SLI, who knows, it may actually preform better with the new engine and I can just get by with purchasing another 660. I still haven't OCed my GPU or CPU so I could always go with the Hog and push the 660 to the limit and if it fails just tell the wife it broke and I need to get a new one and end up with both. Wow, as I typed that I realized how much of a military pilot statement that was.
  14. Long time browser but had to register to ask a question since this is really the only location I could go to expect people to understand this question. So I've got about $500 ratholed aside that I am going to throw back into my pc, with a focus on doing so to improve my DCS experience. My question is upgrade GPU or splurge on a Thrustmaster. I currently have a MSI 660TI PE and was thinking about jumping to a 780. DCS doesn't play poorly on the 660 by any means but I think the jump to 780 would be a substantial performance boost. I have the x52 right now and am about as happy with it as expected given the spring mechanic and the plastic parts. I use to fly with the Air Force so the quality of the stick goes a long way in my book. But in the end I'm trying to choose between making it look more real and making it feel more real. I have pedals and track ir pro so really the stick and MFDs are the only thing I am missing from an input standpoint and so far iControl DCS has filled in for the MFDs. I'm playing on a 40" Sony Bravia now but in about a year I am planning on going to a T setup with 3 monitors and a touchscreen once I buy a new house and requisition a gaming room instead of flying in the office. So what does everyone think will give me the bang for the buck.
