Hi all, Sorry if this is widely known, but what is the best way of exporting the F18 DDIs to multiple other monitors? One monitor for each exported DDI (so 3 in total). Thanks
-
Thanks Deadman, since my post I found those. I was hoping to get something around the 9inch mark if bothering to go to all this hassle. Also $150 is pretty expensive compared to similar sized LCD (of the wrong ratio!) Thanks again though

Hi all, Thanks for all the feedback. I've installed the new drivers and still the same. Only happening in the aggressors campaign missions. No issues with free flight around Caucasus. I'll be honest I'm slow to go back in drivers as do use the PC for other gaming issues. Hopefully, someone has a fix for this.

Does anyone have a link for a square screen to use for the DDIs?

Hi, PLEASE SEE HERE FOR REFERRED TO IMAGES BELOW: https://imgur.com/a/3QrBbDF I've tried all the settings for the F10 map in the main menu settings (Coordinate Display). All the images in the link above are the options, illustrative, and approx some where near Batumi (not all on the same point). I have few questions; 1) What is the difference between "Lat Long" and "Precise Lat Long"? 2) None of them relate to the PRECISE way of putting a waypoint into the aircraft? See imgur for "Waypoint Data". 3) Slightly off point point for the image "Waypoint Data". And specifically in relation to "ELEV 2000M" - I presume this is the waypoint elevation and if so why is it in meters and not feet like the altimeter - would it not be a lot easier to have the waypoints in ft too? Cheers

Hi all, Please see attached image. Each small box on the x-axis is approx 5 seconds. The frames per second start off good then gradually drop and drop and then shoot back up again. There's nothing else going on at the time on the PC and obviously I'm not moving my head/aircraft to such a prefect rhythm. I would suspect something is going on though. The attached activity was observed on the F-18 aggressors campaign, the mission of guns against two Mirage 2000's. I was RTB after a re-fueling and there was nothing intensive at all going on, just normal level flight. Any ideas on what might be causing this sawtoothing of FPS? And/or ways of addressing it? I thought it might be nVidia shadowplay causing an issue but can't re-create it. Thanks BTW here are PC Specs; CPU: 4770k @ 4.2 RAM: 32GB DDR3-2000 GPU: 970 GTX Harddrive: Samsung 840 Pro - 512Gb Harddrive (nVidia captures if saved): Multi Spiny Disk Array

Hi, How do I clear "ADV-BALT," from the left DDI? It comes up from a free flight mission and from a cold start. I've tried Google and and the forums and found this now closed thread - https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=210452&page=2 Its flagged as a known issue in the thread, but it doesn't say that it was fixed. And it still comes up. Is it fixed - therefore something I'm doing wrong? Or is it still outstanding? Hopefully still not outstanding as the other thread is from 2018. Attached image illustrating the advisory message. Thanks

What are the use case scenarios for Emergency Brake
72hundred replied to 72hundred's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Cheers. That would agree with the NATOPS manual which states the emergency ones are off HYD 2B. But I'm still not clear when to use it? Like is it for field landing? But there's no info on warning panel to tell me that 2A isn't working (https://imgur.com/a/gkfCQRH) - am I meant to just react in the case of nearly running off the end of the runway? -
Hi, I've googled and looked at the NATOPS manual (page 139 - I-2-67). I can't explicitly find a use case scenario. Is it just a back-up system for brakes in case of battle damage? How would I know that the regular brakes aren't working? Basically my question is what is the use case scenario! Thanks!

Thanks guys re-read all this with a refreshed head in the morning and it makes a lot more sense! I think I misinterpreting "transfer"; hence my confusion. Thanks for all the replies and info :thumbup: - very interesting and certainly satisfying my deeper understanding itch.
-
And then the next paragraph; 2.2.11.3 External Tank Fuel Control Switches. NORM Permits selected external tank(s) to be refueled. Completely confused!
-
Thanks Tholozor and Gianky. Tholozor for the reason you describe could you not just leave it on and take on required fuel spread out across all tanks? Is there an advantage to skipping the ext tanks? Are you not meant to land with fuel in ext tanks on carrier? Also as I write this reply, I just happened to be on the page of manual covering the refueling probe and it says for EXTEND; Extends the air refueling probe, turns on the probe light, if the exterior lights master switch is on, and depressurizes the fuel tanks. The external tanks will not transfer unless either external tank fuel control switch is in ORIDE. So it seems that by default the external fuel tanks don't fill during air-to-air refueling? Thanks again.
-
Thanks for the quick reply. Why does the weight on the wheels prevent the external tanks being used? Is there an advantage / safety feature that would mean that when on the ground you wouldn't want to use the ext tanks? Why does the probe being out prevent transfer from the external tanks? Also, if they are two ORIDE reasons - any reasons to use the STOP for external tanks? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a deeper understanding - out of curiosity!
-
Old thread I know, but what are the use case scenarios for using these switches - as what advantage does it convey? I'm looking over the NATOPS manual now which is very clear but doesn't indicate a use scenario. Also on a separate point. I presume the "INTR WING INHIBIT" is for use when a damaged wing is loosing fuel?

Typical Balkans Air Defense Network 1980's
72hundred replied to 72hundred's topic in Military and Aviation
Sorry Balkans = Caucasus. -
Hi, I'm looking to simulate what a typical full air defense network might have looked like in the 1980's on the Balkins map. Can any one describe it to me so I can make it up or have a mission file? I've recently been learning about all the Russian air defense units and would like to see it all knitted correctly together. Cheers!

Hi, Just flown the first mission of F/A-18C Aggressors BFM Campaign by Maple Flag Missions, very enjoyable, especially the local info, and looking for some high resolution images of the attached (which are screen captures from PDFs in the install folder); https://imgur.com/a/7gbDpbf Many thanks if any has any ideas. Their README suggests posting here or emailing them ( mapleflagmissions@gmail.com ) thought I might try here first.

Hi All, I've realised that you have to wait 1-2 minutes during start-up with the navigation in ground mode before switching it to navigation, but in the "F/A-18C Aggressors BFM Campaign by Maple Flag Missions" campaign, on the first mission the moving map in the AMPDC never turns up even after waiting for 3 minutes. I've tried cold starts in Nevada from the instant action menu and no issues, only seems to be with this campaign. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

Backer Rewards Section is Finally Here
72hundred replied to Charly_Owl's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
If you get access to the locked out bit of the forum is there a download link there for the game? My previous DCS stuff was via Steam - guess it won't be the case with it this time? -

How to do I actually get a download link for the beta? I back through Paypal and created an account clicked on my 6 options - which was all the aircraft and it says "Saved".
