Buy whatever interests you. DCS' difficulty curve is greatly over stated.

Went with just a $60 Logitech joystick for a while. Now I'm building up though... :smilewink:
Welcome to the fold! You'll be learning more and more in no time.
That's how starts. It's all down hill from here.

All gave some, some gave all.

It's called the MiG-21. It is a flying object, after all, but its principles of flight are as yet unidentified. So it's close enough.
Darts are an identified object, though.

I was under the impression they'd been retired. I suppose that only applies to the Vultur.

while cool it does look like just another flavor of Fishbed
There are some pretty noteworthy changes between the J-7III's and the MiG-21.

Couldn't resist.

Your art game is craaaaaaaaaaaaazy, M3
-
Some might just cry "It's just another Fishbed" to which I'd answer "How is that a bad thing?"
-
Are we talking ingame AA or driver applied AA?
-
But who watches the developers?
-
Just to chime in briefly about the piper/gun in AA mode...talking with RL pilots about that, even they use the fixed mode for AA gunnery in real AC...
I can definitely believe that. The MiG carries plenty of rounds to fire off a few tracers to range.

Does that mean the underlying software is some form of Windows? :music_whistling:
Haaaaaah.

I'm sure Rudel will come up with more complete response, but to give a basic answer, this change will improve quite a bit state of things for VR users. Original cockpit was made for 1.2 version and while textures were updated, model itself did not take into account VR users since back then VR was far from popular.
Thanks for the answer. That makes a lot of sense.
Im not a VR user but hope to be in the future. What in particular have they found difficult with the current/old cockpit? It's not fit that well. You'll find holes in it. It's not game breaking, but it's immersion breaking to be sure.

Actually, guys, I have a question:
The cockpit will soon be underway for a complete makeover. Your pleas were read, and we're planning...we repeat plan on providing a multitude of cockpit livery options. This includes colors, language, measuring system, and varying degrees of weathering. Though there is no guarantee on the quantity yet. Small fixes are being implemented in patches as well. What are the goals beyond "fixing" with this and the obvious aesthetic benefits of cockpit variations? What I mean is are we looking at a better performing cockpit? Are you making little QOL changes like maybe increasing the interactive box/hitbox/whatever you wish to refer to it as on the switches to make them easier to click?
Not meaning to be a nitpick, this is a great update, end of story.

Last night, I uninstalled the Persian Gulf to switch out for Nevada on my limited SSD space. However, doing so has left DCS telling me I don't have any terrains installed, even though the Caucuses are very much present.
Ontop of it, I can't access my module manager so I can't even start downloads. I've run repair and still no dice.
EDIT: Nevermind, sorted it. A rogue LUA file needed to be dealt with.

things are only funny when theyre true
pretty damn sure you cant buy 3 bigbugs for the cost of one f-35
Well, you'd be super butthurt if you, too, missed out in the gravy-train that was the JSF program.

We're eventually getting the A and we're also getting new assets along with two mini campaigns.
-
the need for a decent MAC version of the mig-21
More than likely. But, if it gets stuff done, it gets stuff done.
-
Fantastic news! The MiG love is very appreciated and the Eagle II is looking fantastic. Good luck!

I've noticed in the debriefing that I have a lot of "engine shutdown" and "engine startup" messages, in mid air, that is! It turns out that the "engine shutdown" is correlated with engaging the afterburner, "engine startup" appears when disengaging it. Probably related to this?
I got that in the Fishbed, too, after a supersonic hop from Beslan to Nalchik. I'll have to try some other aircraft to see if I reproduce it there, too.

You mad bro?
ITT: it's 2011.
What should be fixed asap to make DCS a whole ?

They need to add DCS Black Lion already so we can finally finish DCS Voltron.
