For me, what's missing is the sensation of speed. Everything looks so calm at 700 knots and 100 feet off the ground that I could have my best nap ever.

This is mainly because of the small FOV, lack of world detail, and lack of colour variation in DCS.
In the real world your sense of speed comes mainly from peripheral vision. This is also magnified by the amount of stuff actually zipping by you in real life.

Hey all, I have a strange problem.
I noticed that when starting up DCS the first flight I play is buttery smooth with no stutters.
If I fly a second mission i notice fps is down and there is some mild stuttering.
If I fly a third mission fps is much lower and the stuttering is extreme.
The only way around this is I have to "quit to desktop" after every mission and start DCS fresh each time.
This only started recently although I dont recall after which update exactly. Maybe in the last 2-4 updates
Any ideas? Are there any logs/details I can provide to help find the root cause?

I just made the switch from the F18 to the F16 and this is exactly what i needed.
Thank you for putting this together.

I would also like to extend my thanks to the team. I've been able to enjoy DCS more than ever lately. VR performance has been outstanding.

Excellent update, great work ED!
Truly amazed by how far DCS has come over the last decade.

Will DLSS play well with VR? Are there any limitations?

It's always behaved the same for me. Maybe run a DCS repair?

Facts. I couldn't A-A refuel until I went VR.

Been having this problem for a while, it's really bordering on being unplayable.

Agreed, great job team. DCS has come a long way and I'm excited for the future of DCS.

I did not see any change in behaviour when testing this.

Don't want to hijack the thread but I have almost exactly the same issue.
In case it may help, dcs.log and dxdiag.txt attached

Agreed. I fly in VR and it has become increasingly difficult to see through the canopy. While a tiny amount of this effect can be realistic, the current implementation seems to be unrealistically overdone.

I've had tremendous improvement from using OpenXR. Ofcourse it took some time messing with the settings to get it right, but it was well worth it.

What I've been doing is reading the briefing of the mission to get an idea of what weapons i will be taking and then brushing up with some quick training before completing the mission. With so little time to fly (2-4 hours/week), it can take a whole week to get a mission completed but it gets the job done since i can't stay sharp on everything the Hornet can do lately.

But looking at the tutorial videos, it seems there are 20,000 different weapons that the Hornet can deploy (approximately), and even a couple of different targeting pods.
Is there a list of weapon types, (or at least which targeting pod) I should study before getting into this campaign, or would that be too spoilery?
Also it's your fault since your campaigns get me to buy and learn modules that I wouldn't have otherwise been interested in

I started seeing this with the most recent update also. Didn't have this issue before until now.
-
Yup, can confirm this is still a problem.

....They also realize that their original code base is going on 15 years old, and fixing anything major would involve a complete re-write of the game engine's core.
Which is well overdue at this point

I had this problem with the A10 also and it was because i had the "synchronise controls at mission start up" enabled. Using TM Warthog Hotas and Saitek pedals

If its possible to do in real life then it should be possible in game. We've become accustomed to low-intensity warfare (especially regarding air combat). Warfare with a near-peer opponent would be very different. DCS can, and should, be used to simulate all types of combat.

Just received mine and installed it. I gotta say, Grade A piece of work and the installation was simple and well explained. Many thanks for this.

I think this is a great idea and one of the nice things about DCS.

What does the unified version mean for the MT executable. Will we have a MT and non-MT executable? Or will this all be pushed to a single MT executable?
