  1. I tried everything but nothing seems to be working the R800L radio ain't doing squat. changing the SPU-9 also not doing anything. however, once I land on a FARP or airport, I can communicate with the ground crew with no issues. so the problem is only when I am flying and trying to radio with my wingmen or ATC. I also noticed that if I use the hot keys commands to communicate (Lwin + W for example), the pilot does say the command but the wingmen do not reply back nor do they do anything. so something here is pretty messed up. I'll file a bug report.
  2. Hi, Is anyone having issues with the comm menu in the KA-50. I am unable to communicate with either my wingman or the ATC? even if I manually change the frequency, it still does not work. the comm menu ( '\') is working fine on all other aircrafts I own. Only the Ka-50 seems glitchy. Is this a new bug introduced in one of the recent patches? Does ED know about it?
  3. Hi Guys, Thank you so much for all your kind responses. I tuned my radio to 127.5mhz and then hit / F10 and got a response from the units. they basically replied back with "pushing to target blah blah" :) you have to remember to tune back otherwise, you lose your radio comm with your wingman. cheers
  4. Hi Folks, I have a question regarding the radio comm in Black Shark. in the later missions of the Operation Medvedev campaign, the person on the radio tells me that if needed I have two "on calls" airborne units i can use: on call SAS and on call SEAD, and they are available via the \ and F10 commands. However, I have no freaking clue what it really does. when I invoke the command, nothing happens, I get no response from them whatsoever. I also have no clue what SAS or SEAD is , beside the fact that one is SU-25 and the other is Mig-24. :smartass: can anyone please explain to me how to properly use this feature. I am pretty good at flying the BS so I didn't really need their help, but it would be nice to know/learn how to properly command them. Thank you,
  5. I haven't read the entire life story. that's not that interesting but I agree with the OP 100%. this is 2014, not 1944. I know it is much harder to build DCS modules with Flight Model Fidelity for modern jets or a helicopters, than some WWII junk, mostly due to the complexity of their systems/instruments. But I would much rather resources will be spent doing that rather than WWII fixed wings airplanes.

    DCS projects

Hi Guys, this is my personal opinion only but I recently noticed that ED and Partners are releasing more and more modules for legacy aircraft (WWII era, etc). I know a lot of people appreciate that, but I think at this day and age, we should see their resources invested in aircraft models from modern era. enough with the dogfight stuff, nobody does that anymore :). DCS is probably the most realistic combat sim out there and I am sad to hear every time that a new module for some old arse propeller aircraft is being released. I want to see more modern time airplanes (i know some are in development) and DEFINITELY more helos (I just love the physics of helos that kill me every time) !!!! there is already a project dedicated just for WWII stuff. that's enough :) the rest should be dedicated to more modern fighter jets, helicopters and StarWars spaceships (just kidding). Do you agree, disagree? Cheers,
  7. Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone else noticed the issue with the cockpit texture when playing pilot 1 or 2. basically what I am experiencing is that I can stick my head outside the cockpit thru the top panel. nobody from BS replied back so I am just wondering if this is something other people are seeing when flying the mi-8. cheers,
  8. I recently noticed that when I play "Commander Pilot" or "Navigation Pilot" the top panel texture is messed up. let me explain: I am using trackIR with the default axis binding. when I move my head forward, and towards the top panels, I can literally stick it out of the cockpit. in other words, it does not block the view from going thru the panel and eventually I end up looking at the sky. oddly enough, it only happens when I play pilot 1, or 2. pilot number 3 does not seem to have this problem . Initially I thought it could be my TrackIR, but it does not happen in any other aircraft except the mi-8 wanted to point it out since I know it is still in Beta ;)
  9. Last night, I ran the DCS Repair utility then launched the game, it came up with a prompt about some fixes to the updater. I tried the Cold Start training and the Autopilot worked. I would suggest trying the repair utility. it seemed to do the trick for me. Cheers,
  10. Hi Guys, ED posted the patch notes for the most recent update. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2178959#post2178959 I updated my DCS last night but the autopilot does not seem to work for me. can anyone confirmed that this has been fixed??? also, I lost all my Campaign history? Looks like they removed some old files by mistake. Has anyone else lost his/her campaign history? Thanks,
  11. Just wanted to drop a quick line that I opened a ticket with ED regarding this issue and Matt Wagner (Wags) replied back to my ticket that they are aware of this issue and it will be fixed. He did not provide any time lines.
  12. I understand that, and after re-reading the description, it does say access to a pre-release beta version :). however, I guess the reason I am disappointed is for two reasons: one, because no official announcement has been made, and second, according to finnJ no updates have been released since April 2014. I think for next time, I will just be patient and wait until something is released. To be honest, the only reason I rushed to buy it was because it was on sale :). paying $50 would be too much for me. cheers,
  13. I think Finnj is right. Just because he was able to figure out how to fix this bug, does not mean that Belsimtek can take their time and not release an official statement acknowledging it and also proving an ETA for an official fix. This is a dirty way to do business. ED should be responsible and make sure all their 3rd party partners meet their standards and follow the protocols. If it's easy enough to charge our credit cards for a broken module, then it should be AS EASY to release a patch that addresses this issue. The least they could do it put up a statement near the mi-8 module so people know that the module is currently broken. Most game dev companies do not charge for Beta versions, therefore, if it breaks, well that's the point of Beta. But since Besilmtek charges for Beta, which I assume is to help fund their devs, they need to man up and patch critical bugs. oh and by the way, if you go to http://www.belsimtek.com - their official web site, there is no way to contact them directly via emails. they redirect you back to ED forum. Therefore, i think ED should be responsible!!! That's all I got to say... I will open a ticket with ED and ask them to post an official update.
