Ah tnx for the heads up

Hi everyone,
i've got a question about the VR hands. I am using an Ultra leap hand tracker and i can see my hands in game. But they dont interact with the buttons and switches in the cockpit, while in other cocpits they do work. Is this not implemented? if not will it get implemented? I love to use it for small cockpit interactions.
Thanks in advance,

Dont know if already possible or added.... I would like to have an option to setup advanced waypoint actions, and these actions will be copied to all the waypoints instead of doing the same actions manually for each waypoint.

Dont know if already submitted....
I would like to have some kind of 'folder' structure for the triggers. So you can group triggers that belong to each other.
I also would like to have the option to load a mission template...this way you could create random missions.

I find this a good starting point (see link) https://vr4dcs.com/2020/12/24/how-to-nail-reverb-setup/
Also did you try to kill all sources that uses your VRAM? For example... When you plugin/startup your HMD, Do you see the beach house? if yes...this uses alot of memory that is not neccesery. I use SkySpaces program for this and load an empty room. (See video in link)

Thanks - I will consider this if the new cable doesn't work. But I have it connected to an USB 3.0 port directly on the back plate of a (rather recent) main board, I would (carefully) assume that this should provide sufficient power, if anything does?
I hope the new cable will solve all the problems for you. I am still on the original one. Some squad mates have their cable replaced by the new one and it solved issues they had.
The problem with the motherboard usb is..... when other components ask more power (depends on how hard they have to work). It is possible that there is just not enough left for HMD usb, because this one needs alot. Therefore is the pci usb with its own power source so it can deliver the power when its needed.
All the best.

As for graphics driver, I'm already on 527.56, which is the latest.
And for event log, there's all sorts of crashes (WUDFHost.exe, vrwebhelper.exe, svchost.exe_wlidsvc, Microsoft Sign-In Assistant, dwm.exe, OpenVRSettingsUX.exe). They can't all crash due to the actual root cause, so I'm still betting on either RAM exhaustion or something central like, yes, a graphics driver crash.
There's also:
"A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. This may temporarily interrupt your ability to access the devices."
and
"The device HP Reverb Virtual Reality Headset G2 (location 0004.0000.0000.001.002.001.000.000.000) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem."
But I'll try the new cable first before digging further into this.

Hey.
- 70% of the time I get the DCS menu to launch in VR. About half of the time then, the menu is waaaay down in VR (like, the floor is meters below me). Half of the time, I have no mouse control in VR in the menu.
Hi,
Welcome in the wonderfull of VR Wich at the moment is not really plug and play......
I own a HP reverb G2 too and i really enjoy it. For the problem you have when your "center view" is way down, you can do the following thing:
- Start DCS in Desktop mode and go to settings in the main menu.
- in the settings menu go to the "control" tab and instead of selecting a aircraft profile, select UI layer.
- In UI layer assign a button or key for " recenter VR headset" (I set it on my stick so i can recenter it during flight)
- Not necessary but i find it kind of handy.... i also set the controls " toggle VR spy-glass zoom and toggle VR zoom" to my stick to zoom in while in flight.
Now Start DCS in VR mode and when de screen is off.... hit the " recenter VR headset" button and BANG! it hits you in the face
As for the part where you dont have mouse control.
- Do you have multi monitor? if yes.... then your mouse is probably on an other screen and not active on the DCS Screen.
To solve this:
- Go to settings again and go to system settings.
- In here select the option "cursor confined to game window" This way the mouse stays inside the DCS game window
I also have flickering like you mentioned, but i only have it when i am in loading screens.
Since a year i fly in VR and still trying to get things smoother or visually better. Just google thing and fiddle around.
For me there's no way back to monitor flying and VR has really improved my flying skills.
one more thing....Does your usb 3.0 port has sufficient power? At first i had the problem that my HMD would not work..I solved this bij placing an additional usb 3.0 pci card wich has also a power cable to the power supply.
I hope you will soon enjoy the VR experience!

I would love to know that too....Because right now the zoomed out maps in the kneeboard are unreadable. Mainly in the WWII maps the town names are not readable.

Thank You for the explanation Grimes. I would really love to see this implemented some day, or that we can have a mass take-off with Spitfires.

Hi all.
I have a question. When in ME, I setup a group of planes take-off from runway (WWII)
when they take off, they take-off in pairs (2 at the same time)
when i set the same group as take-off from ramp, they take-off indivdual.
Is there a way to set it up so they take-off in pairs? (When set as take-off from ramp)
And if so.... Will the ai also take-off in pair with a human player?
kind regards

Hi all.
I've got a question. Is it still possible to move the radio messages and the command menu to the edge of my middle screen?
In the past i had a mod for this, but it is not compatilble with DCS 2,5.
I did a search on this but i only got results that are not possible with our current version.
I use a tripple screen setup (5760x1080) and use the 1screen setting.
I also posted this in the monitor section, but iwas hoping someone has a mod for this.
Any help would be much appreciated.

AAA 36 1 is simply the name of the "template" group in the ME. Recommend you check out the Moose User Guide from Moose Info channel of the Moose Discord as a very handy primer for scripting in general, and Moose in particular.
I use it alot Also I look a lot in the sample missions. But somethimes i find it hard to understand what they say in the manual.
But tnx everyone for helping me out! I am a step further in the right way. Now i need to tweak it to get what i want.

sadly in lua, random ........... can be very not random at times
I tend to use
math.random() math.random() math.random()
on a line before I ask for any random numbers
Can you give me a sample how to set it up in my script shown above?
Sorry for all these questions.. Am very basic at the scripting side...trying to understand it more and get deeper in i it.
It is hard to understand how DCS reads and execute the script. But it gives you so much more options wich makes missions so much more fun.
-
Or the :InitRandomizeTemplates(templatetable) method.
I use this line in an other test script. I gives me the random templates of the group but not the routes i give it.
-
About as simple as it gets using a table of templates. Can also use a Moose set instead of table.
AAA1 = SPAWN:New( "AAA 36 1" ) AAA2 = SPAWN:New( "AAA 36 2" ) AAA3 = SPAWN:New( "AAA 36 3" ) AAA4 = SPAWN:New( "AAA 36 4" ) Rand36 = math.random( 1, 4 ) TBL36 = { AAA1, AAA2, AAA3, AAA4 } AAA_1 = table.remove( TBL36, Rand36 ) AAA_1:Spawn()
Thank you! I got this working :thumbup::thumbup:
I do have some questions tho....where does th "36" as in "AAA 36 1" stands for? I assume it's for the table... But do you need to name the group also like that?
my script looks likes this as this are the names i use:
SPAWN_PLANE_1 = SPAWN:New( "SPAWN_PLANE_1" )
SPAWN_PLANE_2 = SPAWN:New( "SPAWN_PLANE_2" )
SPAWN_PLANE_3 = SPAWN:New( "SPAWN_PLANE_3" )
SPAWN_PLANE_4 = SPAWN:New( "SPAWN_PLANE_4" )
Rand36 = math.random( 1, 4 )
TBL36 = { SPAWN_PLANE_1, SPAWN_PLANE_2, SPAWN_PLANE_3, SPAWN_PLANE_4, }
SPAWN_PLANE_1 = table.remove( TBL36, Rand36 )
SPAWN_PLANE_1:Spawn()
This works for me.... Only i can not get it to spawn in random zones with the line :InitRandomizeZones(SpawnZoneTable)
Where do i put this line or set it up to spawn planes in random zones?

Hi All.
Can someone help me setting up a little script for MOOSE to spawn a random group out of some templates?
I want to setup a training mission where a random group (selected out of some template groups) gets spawned with the groups waypoints and mission. Even better if the random group spawns in a random zone and after spawning proceeds to his first waypoint and flies the route it has been given.
I achieved to spawn a group out of a template in a random zone. It spawns random units. But it always flies the same set route.
I just can not find the right script to spawn a randomized group with it route.
This is bugging me for 2 weeks now:joystick:
Any help would be much appreciated
Kind regards Naj-Treg

For now i would like to add more routes who will be rondom selected and will random select the unit type..... But that i still have to figure out..
Naj-Treg
-
Mind showing the fix, please?
Well... it was not just a fix... I adjusted the mission units and the script.
For what it now does..... It spawns a random number of planes in the spawnzones. These planes follow the route set by template (SPAWN_PLANE_1)
and will be randomized plane types set to the templates (AXIS_RAND_TEMPLATE_1, AXIS_RAND_TEMPLATE_, etc)
Il put in here the mission and the lua file.

Got it working. Now expanding from this. :thumbup:

To add to your spawn:
:InitRandomizeTemplate(templatetable)
:InitRandomizeZones(zonetable)
:SpawnScheduled(n,n)
-----
See the moose SPAWN class documentation for the particulars, but this is what you need I think.
A scheduler isn't necessary at all here.
Tnx for the reply!
I tried that too... but that stopped the whole spawning...even with 1 plane group. And now even my working script does not work anymore...:doh:
Scripting can be so much fun:music_whistling::lol:
I often make use of the sample missions and then do some reversed engineering. This script comes from one of the sample missions and had the scheduler in the script, I take it out and see what it does.
I am at the beginning stage of scripting and have alot to learn, but i like it.
Tnx for the advice. Gonna try some more.:thumbup:

Hello all.
I am trying to setup a mission where I setup some different groups with different tasks. I want one of the groups spawn randomly in a zone that is also rondomly selected. After spawning the group proceeds its mission and waypoints
For now i have a script that spawns 1 airplane group in a random zone and proceed it's mission. But i can not get MOOSE to random select a plane template and then spawn it in a random zone.
-- this is the working script i use now --
local Iterations = 10
local Iteration = 1
AirplaneZones = { "AirplaneZone1", "AirplaneZone2", "AirplaneZone3", "AirplaneZone4", "AirplaneZone5", "AirplaneZone6","AirplaneZone7", "AirplaneZone8", "AirplaneZone9","AirplaneZone10", "AirplaneZone11", "AirplaneZone" }
HeightLimit = 6000
SpawnAirplanes = SPAWN:New("Airplane"):InitLimit( 20, 4 )
--- Spawns these groups slowly.
SCHEDULER:New( nil,
function( Interation, Iterations )
do
-- Spawn Airplanes
local ZoneName = AirplaneZones[ math.random( 1, 11 ) ]
local SpawnVec3 = POINT_VEC3:NewFromVec3( ZONE:New( ZoneName ):GetVec3() )
SpawnAirplanes:SpawnFromVec2( SpawnVec3:GetVec2() )
SpawnAirplanes:SpawnFromVec2( SpawnVec3:GetVec2(), 200, 500 )
end
end, {}, 0, 15, 0.5
)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Klinkt super gaaf. maar net als Schurem geldt voor mij ook, dat ik helaas niet de regelmaat heb om toegewijd te kunnen vliegen.
