David, thank you for the link. I've checked the post out and will continue to follow it going forward to see what I can learn and what additional information I can come up with. I'd like to respond to more than one person but I have not figured out how to multi-quote so please bare with me. I'd like to expand on and include some new details that can hopefully shed more light on what I'm seeing. Currently, my FPS is locked to the refresh-rate of my monitor (60hz), I understand this can at times cause FPS drops and performance issues, so I've tested all scenarios with both Vsync on and off to rule out any of those issues. As of now, I'm not even 100% sure I'm seeing performance that I'm not suppose to be seeing, but I'd like to make sure. Flying over the strip on NTTR, the Hornet Interdiction mission, etc, all hold a nearly rock solid 60FPS using the settings I've posted below. The only time I'm seeing FPS drops are usually on the ramp, especially during the Hornet "Cold and Dark" and "Ready on the Ramp" instant action scenarios. Looking over my left wing during the start of "Ready on the Ramp" will absolutely tank my FPS. The ONLY thing that brings performance up to 60FPS during those above listed instant actions while on the ground is turning Shadows down. It's actually pretty confusing. Low and slow with the Harrier,Hornet or Viggen on any of the maps? 70-90 FPS uncapped with the settings below. Hornet on the ramp during certain conditions? 45 FPS. Again, while this does not make me necessarily unhappy, I just wanted to see if it can be reproduced or if there is indeed an issue in my hardware configuration someplace. I've also made sure all applicable power>performance settings, be it in Windows or my GPU control panel are set to favor performance. I've attached three photos below that should help show the issue. Two of the photos are the Hornet over Nevada with everything maxed at 80+ FPS (No Vsync or cap) The other photo is with the same settings, on the same map, looking over my left wing the FPS drops an absurd amount down to 31. I feel like I should not be dropping so low in such a non-demanding setting, yet DCS performs like butter in more graphically demanding situations. So far, shadows are the only thing that's alleviating the issues on the ramp for me. (Nothing drops as low as 31 FPS except for the Hornet mission, with the rest dropping to maybe 45 at times on the ramp). Thank you so much for your time and helping me out, it's so very much appreciated. The FPS can be seen in the left corner, it looks like DCS compresses the pictures so here is a HQ link if needed. https://imgur.com/a/NXUIfhT

Hi team, I had a quick question for our fellow GTX 1080TI and RTX2080 owners. I'm currently running an i7 8700, 16gigs of ram and an RTX2080 at 2560x1080 resolution. I thought for sure this would eat DCS for breakfast but I'm finding I'm dropping as low as 45FPS with everything maxed out on the ground in the Hornet "Ready on the ramp" or "Cold and Dark" instant action mission for NTTR. (4x MSAA). In the air, and flying low even over the strip, I'm easily holding 60FPS, this seems to just be on the ground specifically when there are a lot of other aircraft around like the instant action mission referenced above. I'm not unhappy with this performance by any means, but I'm curious if my experience mirrors others or if maybe something in my hardware is faulty. Is this just the nature of the beast? Do those of you with 1080ti's or RTX2080's have to make some sacrifices to hold 60FPS on the ground in busy scenes with high-end GPU's at 1080p or slightly above? If those reading this would be kind enough, I'd love to hear especially about what Shadow settings everyone with similar hardware setups use. Thank you very much, Gimbs

Hi Pilots <3 I'm attempting to make my own little training mission in NTTR. I'm placing a couple of Mig-21's to practice in the F-5 that I've recently purchased. The problem is, they keep engaging the AWACS aircraft that I have on the map regardless of the settings I'm using for the E-3. I've done some research and from what I read setting the AWACS to "Invisible" should prevent any enemy aircraft from engaging it. :( This is how I have the E-3 setup https://i.imgur.com/PNv1TAK.png This is how I have the two Migs setup http://i.imgur.com/yfW083P.png I can solve the issue by setting the ROE to hold and reaction to threat to ignore but this just makes the migs flying drones. My goal is to have them ignore the E-3A and react to my flight once I engage them. Is the "Reaction to Threat = Passive Defense" maybe messing things up when they are getting spiked by the E-3s radar? Thanks a ton for all the help and any information you're able to provide. This is using the latest version of 2.0

With the release of the stable 1.5 DCS build I was curious on which build we will see future Mirage updates? Currently the 1.5 stable and beta share the same version number, as this won't always be the case will future Mirage updates with 1.5 be pushed to the beta build or stable build? Thank you.

Deceter, While you're awaiting a response, you may want to give this profile a try. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81116 I've been using it for awhile now and it's an absolutely awesome set-up for a stick like the 3D pro! -
"Load profile" under control options is not working.
Gimbal replied to Gimbal's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I think I understand the instructions flyco but i'm not too sure exactly what it is you're asking that I try. I don't see anything with a name referring to my joystick and a unique set of numbers in my main DCS folder. I do see my joystick name with the unique numbers in documents/saved games/dcs/inputs/joystick. I've tired renaming the profile I downloaded earlier into this same exact file name with no luck, I've also tried opening the superjoysticknumbers.lua and pasting/replacing the contents from the profile I downloaded into that one. I may be missing exactly what you want me to do with the above instructions, but so far only replacing the default.lua has worked. -

That's a great idea. I'll spend some time with the profile and see how I like it or if I want to make changes. In the meantime I'll start getting comfortable with and learning the interface for remapping commands so I can do it on my own. Thank you for all your help and insightful information it really is very much appreciated. Consider this problem solved. -
"Load profile" under control options is not working.
Gimbal replied to Gimbal's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
After a little bit of trial and error I think I got it working. I followed the instructions on the last page of the thread I posted, unfortunately that did not work. Someone in the thread recommend renaming the profile to default.lua and replacing the original default.lua file. I backed the file up and once I replaced it the profile is working. I had no custom keyboard commands at the time, so I hope there is no negative impact on the sim from replacing that file, so far I don't see any but i'll keep my eyes open. Can this cause a negative effect down the road? Thank you. -
"Load profile" under control options is not working.

Ok I think I understand what you mean, there will only be a TMS Right command but the bind is automatically integrated with short and long depending on the length of time the button is held. This will drastically reduce the amount of work needed to recreate these binds. Flying manually while manipulating the TAD,TGP or any other SOI with the keyboard has been nearly impossible if not extremely confusing and cumbersome for a beginner. Thanks again! Edit: it looks like the last page of http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81116&page=5 seems to provide a work around I'll give that a shot first. Hopefully it still works. -

Roger that, thank you for your help again. Maybe it won't be as difficult to recreate as I'm suspecting. -

Thank you for the reply. That is very disappointing to hear. I'll try and tackle this myself then, the only issue I see that can be a problem is assigning long and short holds to the hat stick I'll get started finding a tutorial, thank you again. -
Hello pilots. I'm trying to use the following control profile for my DCS installation. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81116 I've followed all the instructions in the thread as well as aggressively searching for a solution before posting here. The file is saved as .lua, upon clicking "load profile" under the control options the file is not listed. I select "All files" under the file type and can successfully see and click the respective .lua file. I click the file to add it as a profile, the controls screen flashes for a second as if it were making changes to my assigned commands, although looking at the key binds importing the file makes zero changes to ANY commands or binds and retains my default. What can I do to alleviate this problem? I'd really love to import this profile instead of binding all the keys myself as i'm still learning my way around that facet of the simulation. Thank you very much in advance for any help. Edit: I'm using the steam version updated to the latest available release with a Logitech 3D Pro Joystick.
