  1. I did what Zaelu suggested. I removed the mig21 folder from mods/aircraft, ran steam validation, which redownloaded the module. After starting the game and loading the AA Missile training mission for the first time, the textures were fine, I quit out to main menu to try the GROM missiles, they appeared broken, after going back to the menu again, and restarting the AA Missile training mission, those were broken again as well :S So the fix only worked for first start up lol I think I will just take this straight to DCS support.
  2. Dont think I can just "repair" if I downloaded it through steam. Like I said validating integrity of cache didnt show any errors so it didnt do anything.
  3. Bump. Also restarting mission using shift + r can sometimes result in key bindings to not work and the sound is gone in F2 view.
  4. So I have purchased and installed MiG21Bis from the steam store, I started to mess around with the plane and I noticed few problems. So far I have noticed that the radar missiles and Grom missiles have broken textures. It looks something like this: I tried validating steam cache but the check didnt find any problems and no files were downloaded. Is there any other way I can try to fix this, except reinstalling?
  5. Adding 40 curvature to my slider helped, whenever i wish to increase the speed of my descent I no longer push the heli over the 3m/s limit and end up shaking out and crashing. I also managed my first landing, it took me about 10 minutes to put the heli down but I did it :D Now I need to practice starting the landing from a much lower altitude to cut the time it takes to land, I was staying within that 3m/s and going down from 1.5km hue hue. I also managed to figure out the weapon systems, partially at least, I was able to unload all of my rockets. However I could not get the gun pods to work, so I guess i'll look at the manual and see if theres anything helpful there. Once again, thanks for the helpful posts you guys keep posting. They really help :)
  6. Would adding curvature to my collective slider make this easier? From what I read here, it seems like doing it slowly and smoothly is key, so lowering the sensitivity should help, especially since my slider has a very small turn radius, so even minor movements end up representing a 5-15% change.
  7. Thanks for your help guys, gonna keep practicing.
  8. Managed to keep it flying straight, but whenever I attempt landing it starts to shake, regardless of what I do :S Seriously having issues with this module, Im just awful at it :( Anyone could point me to a vid or maybe explain what I need to do to be able to land this without shaking?
  9. Damn! That sucks that its so difficult with twist grip :S Oh well, I guess I'll have to just practice.
  10. Do you recall a default bind for any of these? Something I can use to easily track it down in the controls menu.
  11. So I've picked up another module, the Mi8. After few video tutorials on YT I was able to get the engines running and upon taking off, the helicopter just started to spin to the left, while being slightly tilted to the left as well. Could someone help me out and briefly explain what I should look into to make the helicopter more stable? I was able to keep it hovering by twisting my stick and manually adjusting the spin with the rudder and roll axis. And yes I did click that green button on the central panel, the spin and roll happens with it on. This is my first helicopter I ever attempted to fly, so Im obviously a massive noob. Thanks for any help in advance :)
  12. Thanks for explaining this in detail. Seems like the way I wanted them to use in, was the real issue. First I tried shooting down propeller planes, then agile migs hahah
  13. Well I knew that I shouldnt expect to snipe people from 10km out, but from what Golani said, the sound should change to the louder one indicating locking on from 2km or less, but it only changes when Im really close :S
  14. Soooooo, I find the Missiles on the Sabre to be useless. I did a few test runs vs various aircraft, such as Yak40, Fw190s, P51s and MiG 15, all of which have given me disappointing results. It appears that I am unable to lock on unless I am within 1km of the target. Is this how it is supposed to work? And before you ask, yes I did turn the radar range up to max, I have it turned all the way to the right unless I am close to the ground and ground clutter starts to mess with the radar ranging. Can someone explain to me why it is that the missiles seem only usable at ranges where I may as well switch to guns, close in to 500m and just use them instead?
  15. Quite possibly I am, is that the issue? :S
  16. Hello, I've owned FC3 for a while now, but only recently started playing it. I ran into something that kinda worries me. Upon reinstalling the module on steam, I was asked to activate it, and all activation attempts kept failing, so I removed the game from steam, reinstalled using the torrent found on the DCS site, and activated from there. However after the activation was completed, it told me that I had 7 activations left. I am unsure if I will have to rebuy the module after those 7 activations are used, so I was hoping someone on here could tell me how that works :S 7 Activations seem like a lot as they appear to only be triggered by OS change (I tend to format and reinstall everything every few months), but flight sims tend to last people a long while so Im pretty sure eventually I'll run out of these :D The second problem is the sound, I mainly fly the F15C so I am unsure if it happens with all other aircraft in FC3 or not, but if I look at the plane from the front in the external camera view, there is absolutely no sound, and also the cannon firing sound tends to bug out, by playing continously even after I let go off the fire button. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?
