1. Alot of other post are talking about slew issues being off center etc. Because of the weight of this mod. So I was curious to see what it's weight was in comparison to my nylon part. If nylon is half the weight then maybe that would be better than resin for this mod. James
2. Here's one for everyone. What is the weight of your resin prototypes? I'm pretty sure the nylon will be a fraction of the weight. But would be interesting to find out the difference. See if this could be the reason for so many like Wasyl00 to have centering issues with this mod? James
3. I see what you mean. Surely that would be the same problem for the real A10 pilots? I will look into putting a foam ring/doughnut behind the slew control when I install it or even reduce the diameter to stop catching it. Also has anyone else out there noticed the switches on the hotas are flimsy and cheap! The toggles are not even pinned !
4. If there is anyone out there to share the love and tell us how you got on or how you produced mod. James
5. Thank you for the update. Have you managed to get about the brittleness? How much were they to produce? James
6. Lobin thank you for your comments. What would be as light as plastic and as strong as metal. I'm curious as to why thrustmaster didn't bother with the slew control in the first place. Because targeting when your in the thick of the is rediculously hard when you have a tiny nub to target with. And let's be honest it's not like thrustmaster bother to put any high quality parts into the throttle in the first place! James
7. Wasyl00 is that company I the UK? James
8. Apologies it's late to add to this topic but I'm based in the UK.
9. Just confirmed with Hans that staples only offer resin prototyping in the US. Staples prototyping is not available in UK.
10. Yes I looked into resin and in the UK not many company's do resin because of the cost. Resin is very brittle where as nylon is more flexible and less prone to warping. What staples did you order it from so all can check it out. Are they based in the uk? The detail is pretty close with nylon. The best resolution you can get with nylon is 100 microns, but with resin 16 micron so has much higher resolution but much more prone to brittleness. However that said the actual feel of slew control on the finger I can't tell the difference and with a gloved hand I don't think you can tell the difference at all. I'm ultimately going to get this mod made into aluminium and then anodised in black. But that will cost as much as I spent in the hotas in the first place. This mod looks good and the instructions on the website are comprehensive to say the least. Thank you Taz for the hard work and being so kind to share it with us all. I look forward to adding this mod to my throttle. Any questions everyone just ask and all are welcome to pm me. James
11. Here is my current effort in dying prototyped parts in black. James Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
12. I take not credit for the time and effort Taz has put into this slew mod. I have attached a few images if the 3d designs. James Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
13. If you check out the link to Taz's mod page. There is a multitude of pictures advice and instruction. The mod is sound as far as I can see. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
14. I haven't yet modified throttle but I am confident in the mod it's self. And I'm mechanically minded so should be a breeze. I'm waiting for the parts to finish dying to black anyway. To be honest I haven't actually thought of a cost. James Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
15. Tazintosh's website for slew mod. http://tazintosh.com/en/thrustmaster-hotas-warthog/ Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
16. Hi all I have managed to produce the parts in prototyped nylon for Tazintosh's slew mod. I have added a photo to show you what I have. There is a picture of parts from prototyper. As you can see I have a few spares drop me a line if you want one. Sorry for poor quality as I have used my phone camera and parts are small. Any comments please don't hesitate. Many thanks James
17. Hi all, Yet another silly question. As we all love to enjoy this simulation software. I like to see the mission map/setup for multiplayer before even getting into my flying tank. I don't seem to be able to find any general keys or list for ground target symbols. I'm having a little problem planning my attack run and suddenly finding the ground targets do not match the mission symbols or discription. Once again sorry for the silly question thank you all for your time and help. James
18. Has anyone produced a DCS A10c colour printed flight manual for a more reasonable price than the £150 lulu.com quote. To be brutally honest that is a rediculously over priced item. Many thanks
19. Wmiles I had the sane problem before. However it's not a problem the A-10C is very sensitive on trim. It's something have to constantly do. I have the hotas warthog and it makes a huge difference being able to constantly trim as you fly.
20. Hi all Again a silly question. I'm having a lot of trouble getting my Hawg to fly straight. Is there anyway the set of at the least check weather settings? I want to be able to confirm a crosswind but nothing visible to indicate to me! Thanks again for your help.
21. Thank you Trev for your input. An I right in saying If I trim the rudder that should get rid of it. If so I have trimmed rudder still no change. And at take off I have exactly the same amount if deflection of the nose at 55 knots? I will try else where and see if it changes !
22. I have just checked axis viewer and everything is indicated as it should be so why all of a sudden is this happening!
23. At 10k feet. I have already considered that it's only happened since update? Any one else got the same problem. I have trimmed and trimmed and trimmed. I have got thousands invested but I am fed up with it all now. Can anyone please shed some light on this issue! Even when I'm taxing it's still happening. Is there anyway to calibrate rudder pedals?
24. Hi All Please see attached pic explain problem. No matter what I do I have to input about 10% left rudder pedal to get the damn hog to run down the runway or fly straight. Just recently updated to new DCS World! I'm using saitek pro rudder pedals.'I have tried to trim rudder but makes no difference. Please can some else out there help as Im about to throw my whole project out the window!!!!
