Hi gents, i know from books and from the red 7 pilot that the cooling system from the 109 was very effective, but was it so effective, that you need to close the cooler manuel in a dive from 4000 to the deck and still end up with 40 degrees, water when you dive without throttle? Also in the landing pattern till tuchdown i have to close the cooler manuel and still go down 40 degrees water. Landing pattern are at 2000 2500 rpm by manuel 12 a clock proppitch gear and flaps out speed between 300 and 250 Km/ till final. regards Little_D

Hi gents, @razor+ yes i had a track from this, but as it killed my plane in a crash after halftime, i think it is not help full. The engin damaged was with rear tank empty and forward tank at 150liter, so i thing after 60 min of flying. Is this to mutch for DCS ingametracks? The track stops with 150 liter in the back tank. @MAD-MM i fly i think the 190 like you, use MW50 only for running, hard climbing after a dive to get as high as possible again, intercept an enemy fighter. I also watch in this periode my coolers closely and let the speed never go under 420 Km/H. Also normaly it is not realy nessesary to use MW 50 as the 190 has up to 6000m no one that can tuch here at "Steig/Kampfleistung" climb/combat power. And this you can use, as you can read in the handbook for 30minutes in a row, than you have to cool down the engin again, but could use it again if needed. Also a nice feature in the 190 are the cooling instroments with this little L at the end of the skale. If it stands on the I from the L than you are at the optimum for the automatic cooling system. It will cool more down it you fly at fuel save mode, but nomaly it hold it there. If you hit the _ from the L you reach the cooler limit, where the cooler starts to overheat and starts to bleed the hot steam over the ventiel, so the cooler dont burst. Normaly this can be hold up for 10 minutes, if the speed is right. After this you need to cool down the engin a long time, but can if needed go back to this condidions without engin gets killed. I realy dont know what it is as even the longest MW50 time where i have it in use is about 1 - 2 minutes. Some thing comes in my minde is, how the MW50 work if you activate it. Will the pump only give MW 50 to the engin if we hit the higher rpm`s 3150 and if we go less again the pump stops giving MW 50 to the engin or 1 time activated and gives the engin MW 50 all the time even on low rpm`s without the MW50 instroment show that it is active? Do i have to switch it on and of all the time? regards Little_D

Hi gents, since the last 2 or 3 patches me and my squadmembers have the following problem. The engin stops without any warning or that you could see it at the tempindicator that water or oel rise. Also doesent matter if you run with or without MW 50 at high or low rpm`s, it happens when it happens. Last time it happens by 450 Km/H at 4000m with 2300 rpm`s straight flying, oel and wather temps where ok, both in the marker that indicate the "good" temprange. I checked my temps and 10 seconds later as i watched my six and scaning the air around me bang, engin stop wather over 130 degrees, no flak, no enemy, nothing around me. Do you have the same problem? regards Little_D

Why the 109 feels heavier than Fw190 at low speeds?
Little_D replied to Little_D's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Hi NeilWillis, I had a long talk in Manchingen 2016 with both Bf109 red 7 pilots about how the plane feels and handle, compare to the simulation i play and what i can do there and what not. We spoke about high speed stickforces, low speed handling, take off and landing. And a lot of other stuff. I think in 2018 they will be back in Manchingen at the airshow, so than i will if they dont minde recorde the interview. regards Little_D -
Hi gents, i had yeasterday a nice suprising DM in the 109. I had to run from a P-51 and got some long range hits from the .50. After some seconds my engin starts to stutter and i saw my fuel pressure drops down to 0. I was flying on max power with MW50. As soon i reduce the throttle back to only ATA 1.45, my fuel pressure starts raising again and the engin run mormal. After i go to full power with MW50 again, the fuel pressure starts to fall again, at ATA 1.45 or less all fine again. Looks like 1 fuelpump can handle ATA 1.45 but you need both to give the engin max. fuel at full power with MW50. Nice job regards Little_D

Why the 109 feels heavier than Fw190 at low speeds?
Little_D replied to Little_D's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Hi Echo 38, here the answer of a real life pilot: Goggle translation: A plane no matter whether with 80, 270, 800 or 2000 HP engine power is in travel with approximately 70 -80% Powersetting in a stable flight condition without large control inputs on the road. For example, The side wheel moderately (of which we go in the example, as also in the game made) on the right, steered the plane to the right. As a result of the different flow conditions, the right surface is lowered while the left is lifted. Usually, it takes a few seconds until the rolling motion of the aircraft begins to roll around the longitudinal axis. The aileron can be used here to a certain extent as a replacement quiver. If the lateral impulse is only brief and the rudder is neutral again, the aircraft fuselage is aligned again in the direction of the flight. It may be a little longer around the high axis but also stabilizes due to the flag effect (side round) . The flight condition when you press the rudder is when you look at the ball in the Turn & Bank Indicator ("Turn") "unclean". An instability as with the 109 where a strong pendulum motion with moderate lateral wheel input took place, which also has a strong effect on the transverse axis is unrealistic, no matter how much horsepower the aircraft has. The only factor that affects the high horsepower is the strong torque forces acting on the aircraft, which are compensated by the rudder, when the acceleration is fast (as the commentator wrote about it). german original: ein Flugzeug egal ob mit 80 , 270, 800 oder 2000 PS Motorleistung ist im Reiseflug mit ca. 70 -80 % Powersetting in einem ausgetrimmten stabilen Flugzustand ohne große Steuereingaben unterwegs. @NeilWillis, yes it has, if you fly ww2 simulations for more than 10 year, you have more expiriance as a guy that fly for 1 year. This you can also see in dogfigfhts on a server. regards Little_D -
Why the 109 feels heavier than Fw190 at low speeds?
Little_D replied to Little_D's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Hi gents, razor+, sorry for the late answer, had to test and speek with my squadmates and other friends from other squads out of Cliffs of Dover about this. So now here is the answer :). All pilots that i ask about the 109 in DCS say the following: 1. At speeds about 250 - 350 Km/H the controls feel like chewing gum 2. At speeds about 250 - 350 Km/H she feels like flying a Bf110 or Ju88 3. At speeds about 700 - 800 Km/H they have more control than they expected. Compare to CoD ( i know apples and pears ) but it is the only way to describe it. At speed about 700 Km/H you have hard controls in CoD with an E4, so manovering is very hard ( turn, climb, etc. ) in the K4 in DCS up to 800 Km/H she is better/easyer to control, or let it say this way, she reacts faster on control imputs at 800 Km/H than a E4 at 700 Km/H and this was describe as the K4 feels like an old Il-2 1946 FW190A8 at 800 Km/H. Al pilots i ask have more than 10 years of simflying on ww2 birds. Also some real life taildragger pilots and owners of sutch a plane where saying, that the nose up behavior on right rudder imput is to much, it is there in real life but not so hard. Little imput on the right rudder in DCS let rais the nose to fast, it should be mutch more gentle. It cant be, that 5mm of right rudder imput rais the nose of the K4 so mutch, they also sai, that the nose up right rudder behavior in the 190 is mutch more realistic, compare to real life. regards Little_D -
Hi gents, why the 109 feels heavier than Fw190 at low speeds? This is the question i have. Since the last patch, the 109 changed and feels mutch more like a 109, but still i have the problem that in low speed 250 - 350 Km/H manovers the FW190 fells more lighter and more easy to control than the 109. I am not talking about knif fights with spits down low and slow, thats for Idiots and noobs. I am talking from manover like this, where you can feel the difference between 190 and 109. Come in at high speed 600 - 700 Km/H on an enemy, he breaks left away and you go into a high yo-yo manover. The enemy see this and change direction to the right, so you go from a high yo-yo into a nose down spiral to close in on his six. When i reach the nose down position in the spiral at about 250 - 350 Km/H (tested in this speedrange ) the 190 is easy to control like a light plane, the 109 on this manover feels like a havy plane. I know DCS is the next level in FM about other simulations like Cliffs of Dover and Battle of Moscow and i like it realy mutch, it is an challenge to learn and to master, same goes for shooting, but in now over 20 years of flightsim i never feel sutch a difference in how the 109 feels in other simulations or against the 190. In all other simulations i flow, the 109 was easyer to control at speeds between 250 and 350 Km/H than the 190, here it is the other way around. I also spend the last week with finetuning on the controls and have now for me i think the best settings for both planes. I also dont fight at high throttle in dogfight i use normaly in 109 about 1.2 ATA by 2100 rps on automatic in the 190 i use ATA 1.1 - 1.2 and 2500 rpm`s, full power and MW50 only for run or climbing away. Also i dont fly the 109 on manuel proppitch as there is no need for it, when it is moddeld correct as it looks like. Also the stallturns that SiThSpAwN postet and flown by Yo-Yo i think with the 190 are mutch easyer in 190 than in 109, also there the 109 feels havier than 190. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128270&page=49 regards Little_D

Tail Coming up at ~70 km/h on Takeoff
Little_D replied to Frederf's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Hi Frederf, little kick on both brakes to get the tail up at around 70 Km/H. But if you hit the brakes to strong, you go nose over :). On the other way i take off like in the 190, hold the stick till 120 Km/H back and than center it slowly, this make here going easy of the ground at about 160 Km/H, Now you need to pull the stick little bit forwart or you will stall. gear in, flaps in and down to ATA 1,25. I alsway take off with ATA 1,45 and 2600 rpm`s no MW50. regards Little_D -
Tips and help needed on low speed fighting and flying
Little_D replied to Little_D's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Hi gents, @otto, Yes i know how the 109 was before the last patch and i know the vid from DavidRed, where he show the wrong stickforces. I also have set my curves new for the 109 and 190. I fly now with 0 curves on elevator with a saturation for y from 70, ailerons have now a curve of 5 and saturation for y from 100. Rudder is on a 30 curve and a saturation from y of 90. This makes cointrolling both planes at all speeds mutch easyer. But it still feels that the 109 is mutch more unstable at speeds from 250 - 350 Km/H. The 190 is at speeds from 250 - 300 Km/H mutch more stable than the 109 and easyer to control. Also it looks like the stickforces are still not right for the 109, see here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=174867&page=10 maby this is the problem, whey the 109 is so unstable at low speeds between 250 and 300 Km/H. I also know that the G-6 had problems in low speed handling, but this was again solved with the later models. regards Little_D -
Hi para504, yes of cause i do it like this, i have controls maped to this and also use the mouse in the cockpit to ejekt the canopy, befor i try to bail. Also new control settings dident work. But this is not only in the K-4 iots also in the Fw190. regards Little_D

Hi gents, I need help and tips for low speed fighting in the K-4. Here is our problem: At speeds between 250Km/H - 350 Km/H the K-4 feels verry unstable and wobbeling like there are some Rubber bands control the plane. Controlls are fittet with curves to fly the plane smooth and nice, also the engin power and rpm doesent matter, at this speeds she handles like shit. Not realy possible to make at this speeds clean manover in a dogfight. Yes i know K-4 is no dogfighter its an energy fighter, but she should handle at this speeds like a nice plane and not like this and i am not speaking from stupit close hard turnfights against a spit, i dont do this, not in 1946, not in Cliffs of Dover and not in DCS. What i mean is something like: climbing up again after an atack and at 300 Km/H you are coming out of a high yo-yo with an half rolle and nose down to go on the enemy again, and she is flying like she is in a verry hard stall, no nice clean combat moves possible. Also i find it strange, that at ATA 1.2 and 2200 rpm and 450 Km/H even with nose trim down to 2, she starts to fly a looping, dont get it done till the end, but still ...??? I know it was build nose up, but this? Even at ATA 1.05 and 2000 rpm at the same speed and trim she trys to fly into the sky. Building a plane nose up to avoid not coming out of a dive is ok, but i dont think they build a plane, that is not able to be trimmed for level flight with light nose up, so you need to push the stick a little bit forward, but not that the plane is able with neutral stick to fly a looping is a bit to mutch. Doesent matter if on autoprop or manual. All my teammates have the same poblem, some with cheep controls (cheep stick and CH rudders), some with mixed controlls (X52 and thrustmaster rudder) and some with expansive controlls (Warthog and Crosswind rudder) Also i have never flown a 109 in a sim, that handles like this and i fly flightsims since Red Baron, i know Red Baron was not a sim:megalol::music_whistling:, but you know what i mean. I also finde that DCS has by far the best flight moddle than the other sims out there, even when there are still some things not right on all planes. So no whining only whant to know it and learn :smartass:. So please help what do we wrong. regards Little_D

Hi gents, same here, also the Artificial horizon dont work, no matter if make it free or close it again. Also i have the problem, that all spits are lagging away, when they are in gun range, when they are on my six no lag anymore :-( regards Little_D

[CLOSED] K-4 module completely stops rolling at high speeds
Little_D replied to Kurfürst's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi gents, wow, what a nice discussion without this bannana forum behavior, as on other flightsim forums +1. Could this also aplay to the 190 witht the snaproll behavior at 400 km/H. I know she was known for this behavior, when you pull to hard she stalls, also i know that it was used by german pilots as an last change manover if they spot a enemy close in there six. Its onle a question as what ever i do, even at high speed she make this snaproll / stall allway around 400 Km/H not at 600 kM/H or more. You can pull here nice and hard at 600 Km/H or more but as soon you reach 400 Km/H she stalls/snaprolls without give here more control imput. regards Little_D -
[CLOSED] K-4 module completely stops rolling at high speeds
Little_D replied to Kurfürst's topic in Bugs and Problems
Is this normal for the K-4? Hi gents, is this the normal behavior for the K-4 in a dive? What ever settings i use, diving with power, without power, rads closed, rads open or on automatic, 100% fuel or 20% fuel. When i hit 750 Km/H in a dive, she starts to roll right, even when i use full left rudder and full left aileron. No change to stop the rolling. So where is the sence in makeing it possible to dive with up to 850 Km/H, when i have from 750 Km/H no controll of the right rolling, but no problem with the elevator, there i have full controll and can bring the K-4 easy out of the dive without using trim. Also she becomes between 250Km/H and 350 Km/H very wobbeling not nice, where the 190 flys like on rails at this speed, should not the 109 be better at low speed handling? regards Little_D -
Hi gents, and a nother question, sorry for that. Is it normal, that the 109 is to fly with max trim down to stay straight? Even with 1.05 ATA by 2000 rpms in cruise mode the nose whants to go up. Also i saw in the menu 2 sliders for elevator and rudder trim? For what and how to use it? regards Little_D

Hi 9./JG27 DavidRed, thx, but this is strange. Did some tests and it looks like both, the 13mm and 30mm, cross the gunsightline the first time at 100m. Some other thing is why we have no tracer in the 30mm? As from the "Schießfiebel" 1944 the guns should be loaded like this: 1x Mine + 1x Brandgranate + ......... and the german 20mm/30mm Brandgranate had a withe tracer. https://ia600204.us.archive.org/13/items/Horrido-DesJaegersSchiessfibel/OberkommandoDerLuftwaffe-Horrido-DesJaegersSchiessfibel194436S.Scan.pdf regards Little_D

Hi zerO_crash, i needed 2 weeks to get the 190 in the air and back on the ground, the 109 was finished in one flight. You need mutch more stick imput and corrections for the 190, the 109 is easy to hold at the glidepath no big corrections are needed. From what i have read the 109 is a beast at landing and start, the 190 not. But when i compare both planes in DCS, its harder to get the 190 straight airborn and back on the ground. regards Little_D

Hi gents, after the FW190 i now own the Bf109 from DCS and have to say, its 10 times easyer to take off and land this bird than the 190, even without stickcurves like i have to use in the 190. Should it not be the other way around? regards Little_D

Hi gents, is there somewhere a chart or something like this, where i can see the convergenz settings for the 13mm and 30mm in the 109, like in the FW190D-9, where i know the "visierschuss" is set to 600m and the 20mm cross the first time the visierline at 125m? regards Little_D

Hi Weegie, thx, but this also dont help. my own tracks run well. only the track`s from my teammates dont want to run with the right view. Its alsways 180 degrees turned. no matter if i run it with track ir or without, if i center it or not. nothing helps. regards Little_D
