It could, potentially, vaguely, maybe, happen on the 14th of the last month before the previous one, but it will definitely be after yesterday's tomorrow, supposing that now will be still now when then will not be then anymore.
Its not about US aircraft, and its not about Navy, its about Grumman. take a look at any aircraft built by them (we still have some in active service today) and you will see the switches and the readability issue.

Its really odd to me that you have all these carrier-based missions, even one with a landing qualification, and yet neither the TACAN or ILS is setup for the carrier on any missions. how could that be overlooked? it cant be intentional, right?

Windows 11 actually fixed some issues with TM's creation of virtual-device. For many years, i would have to make sure that i started up my PC, and then disconnected and reconnected my AC-powered USB-hub (which every single one of us should have. if you dont, then thats your problem. the motherboard cant produce enough power to light up the device quickly enough for the HID-detection routine.) . This was to allow windows to re-detect the flight peripherals after all the operating system has been spun-up. The way that the operating system assigns ID numbers for USB devices is part of the problem. it wasnt made with this usage in mind like an XBox.
When devices dont recieve power at quite the speed they need it (especially at startup time) they fail in unusual ways that can often look like other problems. start there first, always.
I dont know anybody doing flight-simulators for long that doesnt eventually get a powered-hub , both for its supplementary power, but also for its extended length so we can make a sim-pit of our desks, and lastly because it lets us control reconnection of flight devices (or disconnection for when we want to play other types of games).

that might be a configuration issue. check that you dont maybe have to toggle the value in CTS > HARDWARE C ONFIGURATION > VR: Use Airbrake Switch for Profile Swap
also note that the window for thrustmaster (where we are looking to see the changed text. pictured in a previous post above) doesnt auto-scroll and can sometimes look like its not changing. But if you have audio on, theres usually a voice that speaks up as well. good luck-

This feature already exists btw. you just might not have the FFB tuned for it. when using Andre's SimShaker Wings software, you feel distinctly which side the weapon deployed from. That means that the hook already existed for directx to respond to. (this might not translate to audio-based FFB like buttkicker, if its not using simshaker. thats a much deeper code-state-aware solution than the audio-vibration solution)

When WVR, the pilot should usually be taking over in PAL if what youre looking for is to get a quick hard pulse lock (which jester automatically uses instead of PD-STT when WVR).
IMO that is when a human RIO should be helping to keep SA around the fight and keeping eyes on what his flight is doing (also i like to use ground-stab at 25m scan range with datalink to really see whats happening big picture) while the pilot gets tunnel-focus on killing the target.
Just to add that i kind of miss the older Iceman takeover whereby he would hold the attitude you had when you go to the back seat. it was helpful during a long ascend or an orbit. i feel like there could/should be a way to choose or command which one you want.-

Possible write error. You may want to rename your existing folder to something else and then reinstall. Unfortunately, my server is down for a day so it will have to wait.
Just to +1, I had the same issue. i also tried both Normal and Full and got the error each time. confirmed install bug for first time in years. thanks sir

That CubeHub is a very smart solution. nice work! i have always avoided the video-mfd because of the extra two cables per mfd that would have to get routed. this is really elegant.

Ya thats not a bug in Vaicom, but rather an issue with the new feature. Once Jester is invoked into managing the LANTIRN, i cant seem to get him to stop. even if i latch and lock onto a target, Jester will unlock and do his searching thing.

Lets make sure to confirm and clarify when we are talking about SinglePlayer, and Multi (where other people are making and sharing marker points)
Single-Player, the map-marker system works correctly. I used Vaicom to issue the command and it mapped to Fixed-Point without issue.
Im not sure if MultiPlayer has ever been stable for this due to how alot of the MP servers are running map-mods that set dynamic markpoints for missions and etc. its pretty hit or miss. ill try it though when i go online and report-

Does the profile include LANTIRN commands?
Yes it was updated for the last stable-release which had those features. There is a slim possibility that Hollywood will stick to his release policy and maybe when the next stable-release is out there that needs it, he updates? he was never very prompt or at all responsive to Open Beta issues. As it stands, i have a 100% functional VAICOM with all extensions available. we are, it must be said, talking about something that is not broken at this time.
That said, i would just love the code repository, if Hollywood were to decide to stop support, so we in the community could pick this up from here if needed. Its rather straight-forward logic for 80% of what we use it for, the voice-command side is a pretty straightforward proxy logic layer for voice-attack, which is itself an API for your operating system - no need to rebuild all of that wheel. The enhancements like KneeBoard Extension, now THAT is some pretty fancy mod-making IMO, and without source code, would be really hard to do.

your hardware is working perfectly, as stated earlier. there is no need to question your stick or install it on another machine. this is a DCS mapping/detection issue. if GameControllers panel shows everything working as expected (thats your operating system. thats running beneath all your games. trust that), then its the software. always and forever.
Just to be clear, In DCS, you have Pitch and Roll set to two appropriate axis on the stick (for the specific aircraft and its Sim or Casual variation listed in the dropdown !! lets make sure of that too!), and after you set those, you hit the AXIS TUNE button on each mapping. you see that Roll is moving and accurately shows the current deflection of the axis. you see that Pitch is not moving at all.
is that correct? we dont need to go into the aircraft to test this, we can just use AXIS TUNE to confirm that a mapping works. (and of course, laterally slide our device-list to ensure its the only mapping to that specific control, as mentioned earlier ). this must be done for each aircraft individually, and both the simple and advanced variation -
help! instructions unclear. i just sent Sedlo my fifty dollars

@markturner1960, i saw your post on RealSim forums. at last you explained that you see axis-inputs working fine in Game Controllers inspector, and thats all you need to know about your hardware. This is a software issue in DCS and we can definitely help you with that here
This is going to sound silly, but have you made sure that you slide the Controls list laterally? Do you know what i mean? When we see the Controls in DCS, they are in a kind of scrollable spreadsheet, with vertical seperation for each device the software detected at startup. that scrolls laterally as well as vertically (and its sometimes hard to realize that or easy to forget about.)
From your selected aircraft, filter the list to AXIS COMMANDS so that you see Pitch setting. Now, scroll laterally and ensure that no other device is also using that axis. DCS allows for more than one device to have an axis, and actually in a rather dumb logic, it also wants to automatically assign pitch, yaw , and roll. Lets see if maybe something else is overriding your axis. -
when you goto the flightpanels github page, you will see that they have their own actively-maintained fork of the dcs-bios scripts for you to run with their application. these are, of course, seperate repositories DCSFlightpanels · GitHub (also the very important profiles repo for different aircraft). it all works very well

man i didnt know about this device. thanks for sharing!

If it helps, i had the same issue happen too (one direction just failed to respond), about 3 weeks ago. after a restart i didnt see it happen again. i think i did a firmware update on the base as there was a new one. I actually run inside of a TARGET virtual combined instance too, as a detail. I think its nothing to worry about. i fly alot and havent seen it again.
Is it possible we accidently triggered the SMM Special Menu for the R3 base? I think i recall changing that from S3+CMSPress to the alternate option of S3+Paddle. maybe i was hitting when going for DLC on the tomcat -
This installed fine and works great. thanks alot Delta! way to followup on your great upgrade!

When youre dealing with an aircraft thats too slow, and youre in the powerful B-model, just know that alot of other fighters use air-brake (maybe not fully open, but slightly, for drag) while refueling to dirty up and get more range in your throttle response. its allowable

That was fun to watch and you guys seem to have a good time flying together. keep it up!

In the game's Options/Special/F-14 section, make note of that drop-down menu and see if some of those options are maybe in need of investigating.
Also note that SRS will get involved and can mess this up until its all configured right. I have unfucked this situation a number of times, whenever doing a reinstall or something, and like me, you will eventually configure it correctly, and run it for years until you completely forget how you solved it, and then rinse and repeat... good luck-

IC safe?
I have been using it the past week with my squadron and had no MP issues. IC issues tend to be more texture related. (thats a common game-development best-practice because its easy to cheat by , for example, changing all aircraft to bright orange, or cockpit textures to transparent) - audio modifications are usually fine.

This issue may have been due to a 3rd party mod aircraft, UH60L. removal of it seems to have addressed my issue and im now getting full features on MP again. thanks all for your help

Got TACAN? ACLS?

youre saying that deep water operations take place without broadcasting TACAN from the carrier (or one of its escort ships)? in the 90s before GPS? So how are they doing their CAT3 recovery without TACAN or ICLS when deployed in that era? im fascinated to find out
