    Landing

I was having the same issue. I found that waiting to call inbound until you're within 5 miles helps. Or if you call inbound earlier, then cancelling and then call inbound again when you're closer and they will give you the command to land. Yesterday I was doing the 1st campaign mission. During flight I knocked over something on my desk into my mouse which somehow opened my canopy, ripping it off. After the mission I had clearance to land 3 times but every time I was on approach I was called off due to aircraft on the runway. I decided to land anyway on the 4th approach and had a perfect touchdown. All of a sudden I see 2 F-16s ahead of me on my runway. I touched the nose down, slammed on the brakes, had to swerve around 1 jet losing control and sliding down the runway sideways. Jet began leaning over scraping the right wing, which caught fire, broke off 2 missiles and wing tank, blew the front and main right gear tires. Came to a stop and limped my Eagle back to chocks. Then got word over comm that the Mission was successful. I love this game.
  2. When I installed DCS2 initially I did use unofficial torrents because of the slow speeds of the official ones, but the ones I used were the ones recommended by moderators of this forum. Like I had said previously, DCS2 worked flawlessly initially and it wasn't until an update was applied through DCS Updater that I began having issues. The autoupdate log is attached. autoupdate_log_old.txt
  3. Yup that fixed it. Thank you Deezle!
  4. Thank you both for your replies. I tried the repair option with no luck, so will now try a reinstall. edit: I tried removing the module in Module Manager, which opens DCS Updater very briefly. It says cleaning up, then closes along with DCS. When I start DCS again the module is still available and installed. I have attempted to remove Nevada a few times with the same result.
  5. When DCS 2 first came out everything worked as designed, but with the past update that was installed when I loaded the game the ramp/runway texture is gone, as well as the jet overhangs when I am close to them. The runway texture is gone at McCarron as well, and when I fly near the casinos they are visible from a distance, but when I am about 1/4 mile from each casino they glitch out and disappear (but are still there which I found out by flying into one) so the colliders still recognize them as there. Is anyone else experiencing things like this? Does DCS still have a tool to run to check for corrupt files? Thanks, Richard
  6. I was doing FPS testing on my PC (specs at bottom of post) to see which options in the graphics menu were causing the most pull on the system to help a friend out and thought I might as well post the results for the new DCS flyers that were wondering what changes would give them some FPS back. All Air testing was based in a F-15C at beginning of Instant Action / Free Flight All Ground testing was 20 feet over a specific line of trees every time The yellow highlights are the changes made for that test. My Mods are: SweetFX 2.0, Afterburner, Better Explosion Sounds v0.9, Diveplane's Sound Pack 2.9, DTAC Terrain + Highways Villages, Vehicle Fire, HD Building, F-15C HD Cockpit, Environmental Shaders v5.71

  7. I played the first 3 missions yesterday with a friend and enjoyed these missions quite a bit. It was my first time flying missions so I don't have much experience with how the game works, but are these supposed to count towards your Missions Completed in the Log Book on the main menu? None of them were logged as completed post flight. Thanks!
