Sweeper - Blue Reserve F-16 or F-15
-
OP you realize your very first post in this thread refutes your point, right?
The 120D started testing back then. It entered service within the past few years.
You're gonna need a Viper from 2017 at least, AFAIK, if you want 120D. That's totally ignoring the apparent lack of data on how the 120D works.
-
Left alt F1 removes cockpit and leaves VSD + HUD afaik.
-
not even speaking about fact that we must go with equipment from 80s against equipment from begining of 21s century
Well that's historically quite accurate, tbh.
And, umm...

You're drifting into flat earth territory.
Powers was shot down.
Some sad, deluded people in the states (who were too chicken to do the job in the first place) thought he should have crushed his cyanide tooth rather than allow himself to be captured, but not even the conspiracy freaks at the CIA thought he deliberately handed the Russians the plane.
In America, you follow guidelines.
But in Soviet Russia, Comrade Weta, Guidelines follow YOU. :P

I have a question i've wondered about for years. The Amraam has so many advantages over the Sparrow. Why use the Sparrow at all? I understand in real life it's a cost reason but i'm talking about in DCS.
Coz it's good for learning fundamentals of BVR.
And besides that, shooting Sparrows at Redheads is just plain fun.

And Av8B N/A -surely the limit is something with the digital seekerhead or something something something reasons. :(
Replace your Harrier with an F-35B and maybe you'll get Xrays. :megalol:

2560x1080 checking in. Poor man's ultrawide for the win.
-
That'd be nice.
Considering we got the Lima and the 7H...

" At longer ranges, the F-15C and the F-15E still have the advantage over the Su-35 with their active electronically scanned array radars. The Raytheon APG-63 (v) 3 and APG-82 (v)1 on the two Eagle variants are still considerably superior to the Su-35S’ Tikhomirov IRBIS-E phased array radar. " . . . This was Not True. In the real live the F15-C, from Alaska using this radar meet the Indian Training Su-30MK, that uses a Training Pulse Doppler Radar and seen the F-15C at the same distance. This is all we have for this simulate combat that put the F-15C vs Su-30MK. All the rest is classified by the US side.
You mean Cope India '04 before the AESAs went into service? I mean, I guess any Russian radar could see an Eagle further than a radar that didn't quite exist...

GG guys. I concede the election for "Ruling Party of the AOR" to Blufor.
I finally got an A/A kill in a TF-51D! Very satisfied with the opportunity to fly Red Air this round and poke some Eagles, Hornets, and an unlucky Huey's tailrotor...

Some kinda unpopulated SA-__ site?

As soon as I find the time, all exports will be active.

I always say that Cessna's don't shoot missiles or go mach speeds.
Well, SOME Cessna's do shoot missiles...
-
If your target is circling he might be passing through the "DCS Notch" - Doppler Notch but worse.
Sparrows really don't like that.

Does the AIM-9X do anything different to the M version in the absence of JHMCS? Or is that stuff almost ready as well?
Yes. The 9X has thrust vectoring, different fins, much better seeker (it should be extremely hard to defeat with countermeasures, if not impossible in some circumstances, idk how ED will simulate it), expanded seeker FOV, expanded WEZ, etc.
If the radar was finished I'd say it'd be a total gamechanger, but right now with the ACM modes not really working...IDK. It's gonna be a mean missile though with or without JHMCS.

meh.
Bug 1 merged, hostile, "Meh"....Fox 2.

Thanks alot for that, exactly what I was looking for... But why is the HUD not visible on takeoff???
I think it is visible, just really washed out.

All the Flanker drivers are like "xdddddd don't merge" :D
I say merge...
But...
Have an advantage...Or two...Or three. That's the beauty of the Eagle, you can get quite a bit from BVR and pre-merge, if you try. Whether it's altitude, airspeed, knocking down half the enemy flight, etc.
I'd try to merge with a numbers advantage. Get a loyal wingman if you can and try to merge 2v1.
As for fighting Flankers 1v1 in PVP (in a likely to be LAGGY environment)...Min range the Archer. I'd say take the Flanker in a level or oblique one circle if you can.
Remember, their trim system screws up their max AOA if they don't reset trim at the merge. Stupid little things like that will cost them bigly. And the Flanker is very configuration-dependent. It ain't a great performer with 5-10 AAMs and a lotta gas. Take your best guess at what its carrying before the merge and plan accordingly. If he's heavy, maybe you can do some weird stuff. Some out of plane maneuvering, nose-tail stuff, etc. - It depends.
As for Fulcrums...Cik is pretty much right on (can't believe I'm saying that :P). The Fulcrum is like an Eagle but a bit crappier.Fight it like it's your clone, but respect the Archer. If you disrespect it, he'll unleash the archers...
F-5 is pretty simple: Don't lose sight. You'll outperform it pretty much no matter what...But you wanna keep it really close-in. Its biggest advantage is its ability to disappear.
I had a merge a few years ago with a Flanker where I was FAR more aggressive than he was and ended up high to low in a vertical rate fight for about two turns. I ran him out of energy and gunned him, after defeating quite a few missiles. Anything's possible, just don't give up. I thought I was dead for sure after the first turn in that fight. :pilotfly:

Ok it was 60 not 30 sorry couldn't remember, but in the ALR-47 one chaff is the same size cartridge as one flare so that wouldn't make sense it must be that they can't be loaded on the left for tgp reasons im guessing.
No, they're just bigger in DCS. Look at the F-15's belly in-game sometime for example. I'd pull up a screen of the F-18 but I'm pressed for time. Probably the same way on the Hornet model too.
DCS simulates the 'big' flares (I can't remember the designation lmao)...Ya know, without any real benefit of having them. Remember, countermeasures in DCS are quite simplified, after all. There are some other, smaller types that could be 'simulated' instead IIRC.
And who doesn't want an A-10 with ~400 flares? :D
-
Who wants to fly it into real combat?
Real pilots?
-
If the AIM-9M is better, why does it have an earlier letter?
Because the P was basically an export missile.

Edit: Just realized this link was posted in the other thread earlier today. Oops.
Degraded Su-27 aerodynamic lift
in Su-27 for DCS World
Posted
vEagle Gang stopping by, check the pfp yeah we lift bro. Do you?
Y'all know what the difference between engineering grad students and lowly bachelors-holders is? The latter know when to drop the sort and switch targets, because we actually play the sim. To the point: Source the claims about the Flanker's perceived issues, or stuff like F-15/18 where appropriate, and people will take you seriously. Its really that simple, man! Dissertations on basic aero don't provide substantive argumentation for why the sim is wrong or not - it attempts to beef up personal credibility at the expense of the discussion. Or something like that IMO, anyway, nothing that ain't been pointed out already I guess. I'd also be careful to note certain features (tm) about certain aircraft (tm) that may affect certain flight regimes (tm). Funny though that the Eagle has pretty unremarkable wings...eh?
