  1. Hello everyone! With all the new GPU launches, I decided to grab a bargain on the Dutch second-hand market. I found an RTX 3090 for €600 and sold my RTX 3080 12GB for €450, meaning my net upgrade cost was only €150. I mainly play DCS in VR Quest 3 with resolution maxed at 130% and benchmarked the upgrade in the AH-64D on Syria with all settings maxed out. My FPS increased by 50%, which was a massive improvement. The extra 24GB VRAM really helps in VR, and I no longer get stutters in heavy scenarios. I also managed to get a Ryzen 5700X3D for €150 and sold my 5600X for €85—another great deal. The extra L3 cache seems to help in CPU-bound scenarios. Some Observations: VRAM Usage: Before, my 3080 often maxed out at 12GB; now, DCS uses up to 17-18GB. Overall Experience: Way smoother in VR, especially in multiplayer and dense missions. If you're on a budget and looking for a cost-effective upgrade, the RTX 3090 and 5700X3D combo is fantastic for DCS VR! Happy flying!
  2. Thanks a million for sharing @Jself! My cockpit is and will never be a full cockpit like yourself since I simply lack the space for it, but I have to do with a monster tech clamp that I can remove. This post started my 3d print experience about two months ago and I love it! You triggered a creative side inside myself I never thought existed. Here is my humble setup which uses parts of your UFC enclosure and your CM panel.
  3. Thank you all so much for sharing your files, and all the instructions, parts you used etc. It has been a blessing. This forum post is the whole reason I got into 3d printing, and convinced me to get an Ender 3 S1 online for a bargain (only a 100 euros) get to know it, tune it with Klipper etc and start building this project. Within two months of getting the printer I have finished it, and even designed my own parts to mount it on a Monstertech Joystick mount together with the two Thrustmaster MFD's. Because everyone here was so kind to share their designs I decided to do the same too!. As you can see there is still some finishing up to do such as adding sticker prints and cleaning up some damaged plastic parts, but it is a 100 percent functional in VR (hence no displays) and I'm super stoked about the result! I took a bit of a different design road than most because of my extensive programming experience in Python. This whole project runs on a Raspberry Pico running in Circuitpython. I designed it to connect as a HID device, instead of using DCS BIOS. Reason being so that I can also use it in other games, and other planes. I used three MCP23017 extender boards. Which brings the total costs of the electronic chips up to less than 10 usd. Pico: 3 usd, mcp 23017 about 2 USD each. I got all my buttons and encoders from AliExpress and I am really happy with the results. I'm using pots for all the rotating switches except for the comm channel switchers. In the bottom I'm also sharing my design which I used for mounting this whole thing on my MonsterTech mount. This also includes the URL to the post from @Jself which I got the encasing from. The mount for monster tech I designed which houses the MFD and the UFC. For the UFC I used the casing designed and shared in this thread: and are downloadable here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CxYMFzfWFkWKXHwS2IiQCrdIfeTMGgU4?usp=sharing nd You can download this mount here: https://www.printables.com/model/1119776-monster-tech-mount-for-fa18-ufc-mfd Once again. Thank you all so so much, I'm having a blast here and this has been such a fun ride! Especially thanks to @Brun and @Jself for being so generous in sharing your hard worked on 3d designs!
  4. Good morning! I've been, for a while now, encountering this issue with my VR kit in DCS and I hope someone here could help me out. I'm running the oculus CV1 on my i7-7700k and GTX 1080 with 32GB of RAM, dcs installed on an NVME .2 SSD (evo 970). When in DCS, sometimes but at least once or twice a session my FPS in VR will just drop to 1 or 2 FPS and the game will stutter horrendously, only rendering the screen in front of me. Usually if i take of my headset for a few seconds, and repeat this, the framerate will return back to normal. I'm currently using the oculus tray tool and I've already set ASW to forced 45HZ but this doesn't seem to fix the problem. When this happens during a dogfight in MP it's really terrible because I can't do anything until the framerate resets. I hope anyone here has a clue in which way I could go to hopefully fix this. Thx!
  5. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm using Webroot Secure anywhere and even with turning both firewall's to OFF, webroot and windows, the problem still persists =( So I guess it has nothing to do over there =(
  6. Dear Comrades! I've been happily hosting a server for my friends the past 2 years but since my upgrade to windows 10 I find it impossible to get one running =( Previously on windows 8.1 this was no problem, I just forwarded the ports in my router and voila! I'm still using the same anti-virus (but now on windows 10) and the same ISP. I'm running DCS 1.5.5 Actions I've taken: - Googled the hell out of this - Searched the ED forums - Forwarded port 10308 on my router - Allow port 10308 through windows firewall (inbound and outbound) - Allow DCS through firewall - DMZ'd my computers local IP - Rebooted my pc a 1000 times - Performed various checks on Canyouseeme.org , and the port remains blocked (where on windows 8.1 this would show open) I'm getting a bit clueless and hope anyone else had similar issues and could help me out! Thanks a lot!
  7. Hello Guys! I'm running Windows 8.1 and like Ron535 I'm also getting the following error: 14.04.2016 06:06:16 version : 2.1.451.4491 1 Message = [iNFO : No Saitek FIP driver found. FIP support not loaded. (assuming no FIPs are connected)] I'm a bit clueless on what to do now, I installed the NET 4.6.1 which was recommended earlier in this thread but it did not solve the problem =(
  8. Wow! I'm such a dumb***!! Apparently you have to map the controls for each specific airplane, almost bought a new joystick hehe. Thanks a lot anyways! Problem solved!
  9. First of all! Thanks for the reply, the point is that it is set correctly in the settings, and the throttle DOES work in the f15, but not in any of the other airplanes =(( Any suggestions on this?
  10. Dear Pilots, After feeling nostalgic and reinstalling flaming cliffs 2 I flew around my f15 for 2 hours without any problems, after that I tried to fly the A-10 (or any other aircraft) and my throttle is not working!!! I'm using a Thrustmaster Afterburner II (yeah its an oldie) and I've tried everything. Conclusion is that the buttons on the throttle dont work either (but the rudder rocker pedals do), remember they do work in the F15, but they just dont in any of the other airplanes. In FSX or FS9 it works flawless as well, im running windows 7 64x. Any hints or suggestions? Thx!
