  1. I've been waiting for the panels for a long time. I'm excited that this is close to fruition. Thank you for all the hard work.
  2. Thank you for the in depth response. It saved me because I didnt think to put a jumper in to disconnect the MAX487 for programming. Once I get the boards back and verify they are working I will make the gerbers, BOM and sketch available.
  3. Hey guys, I am about to spin off a RS485 LED board and I dont know if I missed it or it wasnt explicitly stated for the connections to the MAX487. Here is the connections to the nano: TX-DI RX-RO D2-DE AND RE (these are supposed to be tied together correct? I just want to make sure I dont miss anything and find out 2 weeks later that I screwed it up. Thank you.
  4. Looks great. Is that a steering stabilizer you have on there?
  5. I would give the teensy 3.6 a look. It's small, has a boatload of io and has plenty of horsepower. It should be able to handle all the buttons and the display with ease. I haven't used the 3.6 but I have used other teensys and they are phenomenal compared to thier avr counterparts.
  6. I wouldn't go with the tle5010. It requires too much computation on the arduino side. The tt one above is a good alternative and and melexis makes chips that output a 0 to 5 volt signal much like a standard pot but without the noise. Much easier to interface with in my opinion.
  7. I shouldn't have said plans. I am very interested in the consoles and will purchase them when available. Perhaps the most important part for me is the light panels and backing plates. With those I would be able to get started on the electronics side of things which for me would be the most time consuming part of the process but the part I most look forward to. Maybe I am taking a backwards approach but I would rather start with the panels and then be able to drop them into a pit later. But as always I truely appreciate the work you have put into this.
  8. I am waiting on your panel plans. I will have to build a smaller version until I get more room for this full size version
  9. If you end up running more than one LED directly off of the arduino pin you will exceed the current the pin is capable of handling. The best thing to do would be to is to have the arduino trigger a MOSFET that is capable of powering the LEDs properly. This is something I would integrate on the PCB. I probably would also use 5050 LEDs on the PCB since you seem like you don't mind soldering smd components.
  10. I just made myself an edtracker with the magnetometer, there is zero perceivable latency, my biggest problem with it is that I am either not used to it or haven't found the proper settings for it.
  11. I just updated DCS world to the latest version and now when I go to launch an A10c mission the game hangs right when it gets to loading land surface. Things I have tried: Uninstall/ reinstall Rename DCS folders in Saved Games directory Delete all folders in MODS and repair I am out of ideas and dont see any other things to try. System: Intel Core 2 Duo Quad Q6600 8 Gigs Ram GTX560 Ti Windows 10 x64 Please see attached logs and let me know if you need anything else to try to solve this. Thank you DCS 1.5.3 Logs.zip
  12. Thank you guys so much for this. It really opens up the door for this project. I have a question about the mip and the consoles. Are these open ended or are there plans to release these designs separately?
  13. Are these panels compatible with deadmans cockpit plans? I would like to make some panels to get started before making the actual cocpit
