  1. ST0RM you're saying something quite interesting. I can't get an hybrid boom/drogue config on the same plane because of the tanker/refuel code, however I can make multiple versions of the plane (MPRS or boom operation). What I'm concerned about is how I should make the versions and if it's useful to use only the BDA ... Maybe MPRS and boom (without BDA) versions are the more relevant for now. If ED staff read this : do you have any plans on improving the tanker modding capabilities of DCS ? Could be really helpful for this like boom + drogues :D
  2. Snoopy : I know about the BDA but the problem here is that I can't modify an already existing DCS model. Otherwise it would be the easiest solution ! NeilWillis : it should be easy to use this mod as a base for an Airbus tanker ;)
  3. I'm back for haloween ! Thanks for the interest in this mod ! :D I managed to keep up the work on my side but hit a wall ... You can find news here : New post for the C-135FR !
  4. As you probably know, aerial refueling in DCS is quite limited right now. We have 1 boom tanker (KC-135) and 2 drogue tankers (S-3 and IL-78M). But with the incoming modules like F/A-18C and Harrier, NATO drogue tankers are becoming a serious need. So I started (few month ago) the "C-135FR for DCS" project ! (And asked for help here !) The C-135FR is a modified KC-135 with the Multi-Point Refuel System (MPRS) and a Boom to Drogue Adapter (BDA). Its frame and motorization are almost identical to the KC-135 last versions (i.e. the DCS tanker). That should be simple ! Well ... yes and no ... What is DONE : Added to DCS 1.5 Added to France aircraft list Added to refueling aircrafts Added TACAN and radio comms (thanks cdpkobra !) Created basic but quite detailed external 3D model Made the mod JSGME compatible What is IN PROGRESS : Forums threads Get a good 3D model (w/ textures) What is PLANNED : Make it work in DCS 2.X Rigging + animation of most important elements (refuel system, flight control surfaces) Rigging + animation of least important elements (landing gear, flaps, spoilers) Make a nice theme for DCS What is NOT POSSIBLE (and why) : Hybrid tanker (boom & drogues) (Need access to tanker main code in DCS) Make it flyable (Need access to tanker and refuel main code in DCS) What is SUGGESTED : Feel free to suggest ! In theory this project is mostly done and should be easily finished but the wall I need to pass through is the 3D model. I'm not a 3D artist so I can't really hope to get a finished product by myself. Maybe the rigging and animations are things I can deal with, I don't know until I can try :D If you are interested in this project and can help me with the 3D (if you're an artist or if you know one), send me a message ! I'll keep this thread up-to-date and post a link to download the mod when it will be "useful".
  5. WHAT KIND OF BLACK MAGIC DID YOU USE ? That's working ... perfectly ... In less than 24 hours the problem seems to be solved ! Thank you so much ! I think you're right because the "Tankers" tag alone didn't work. However the refuel points can be modified without breaking the game (cdpkobra did it in his exemple) and the AI planes manage to refuel (not well in a Mirage because they don't use the refuel switch  ). So, I am both happy and sad to see that the "programming" part is overall finished and functional ! Happy : because it works :D Sad : because I didn't managed to make it work myself :( But it's ok ! I'll work on the 3D model to make it real and complete ! I think this topic is solved for now and I hope I don't need to come back asking for help (but I'll do if I need to). When the mod will be usable (at least an animated 3D model) I'll post a new topic in the mod section with a full presentation, a changelog and things like that ! A really big thank to everybody which helped me so quickly (far beyond my hopes !)
  6. You're right, and in fact I messed up my TACAN testing because it works :music_whistling: Maybe I missed the A/A switch and didn't checked ...
  7. Hi everyone, I'm in love with the M-2000C but I was quite disappointed of the refueling possibilities offered by DCS : S-3B or IL-78. I know about the AdA Mod (which add the french tanker) but it seems discontinued or at least in pause. So I started making my own mod in order to add the C-135FR, a modified version of the KC-135R with the Multi Refuel Point System (something like that) and the Boom to Drogue Adapter. I'm not a 3D artist but I'm making a model by myself (even if I will need help with textures ... but not today !) while I'm using the KC-135's model included in DCS (for reference, animation, etc.). The mod currently works half as it should : the C-135FR appears in the list of planes, in the encyclopedia and do basic things (takeoff, flights, landings). DCS doesn't crash and the KC-135 works as usual. BUT I can't call the C-135FR on the radio ... More precisely it doesn't appear in the comm menu ! But the KC-135 works as usual in the same conditions (both in the same mission/ TACAN also does not work, as if the plane wasn't on a list of "interacting aircraft" or a "tanker list". I searched every KC-135 and IL-78-related keywords (name, "WorldID" ...) possible in every DCS .LUA files (thanks Notepad++) but I didn't found anything about comms or radio ! It's the last piece of code tweaking I need before being able to release a "test" version with my own 3D model (not fully detailed and without textures but that's not impossible to do !). So if you have information, an idea, anything that could help me, please tell me ! Just to motivate you, here are renderings of the current model : And if you want to test it by yourself there is a JSGME-compatible .zip for DCS 1.5.6 (didn't check the compatibility with 2.0.X) but currently it's only the KC-135 model renamed and added to the plane lists of France and USA :music_whistling: P.S.: I'm french, I'm young, and I'm human (oh really ?) so I make mistakes. If you see big ones about my English writing skills, tell me and I'll edit :) JSGME_C-135FR_MOD_WIP.zip
  8. Hello everyone, With a friend we're trying to import an Alphajet-E into DCS and for the beginning we just want a 3D model with basic animations. The model is done, exported with anims and (very basic and not yet finished) textures and nicely opened with the ModelViewer (build 102936 for MV and plugin). The differents animations works, the textures are satisfying. We're very happy and proud of it :smartass: When we try to import it into DCS with our own "Mods/Alphajet" directory we can't get the animations to work. But if we replace the Su-33.EDM file with our exported AJET they works ... Maybe the args need to be "linked" to sim values in one of the .lua file ? If yes witch one ? How ? I also tried to copy the whole TF-51D folder and change a few things to get it use our .EDM file but it didn't work ... (I'm probably in the wrong thread to ask help for this, but I also wanted to show you our work and ask you what do you think of it :notworthy: ) Thanks anyway for your time !
