  1. I noticed that during the frame rate drop, my 1070 doesn't step up to the high clock speeds. It stays down at idle. This is so frustrating. One thing I don't like about these newer cards is that I can't force constant speeds on them! Or at least I haven't found a way to do it with my card... Also I did update the driver to the latest and it hasn't helped.
  2. No, I just made sure the old AMD drivers were taken out. I thought the card is so new that can't be an issue but I shouldn't assume. So that's what I will do next, then if that fails I'll record a play and post it for more help. Thanks!
  3. Yes that part I was able to confirm before I came here, using CPU-z. The CPU is clocking at 4.4Ghz using a multiplier.
  4. I did a fresh reinstall of DCS World and went to the AMD website and used their clean driver uninstall utility. It didn't make any difference. I would like to take a video of exactly where the FPS drops the most in hopes that experienced people might be able to assess the problem better if they can see it. How can I record the game? I know the in-game "replay" won't do because that's literally a replay, not a recording. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the input everyone! Taking all your suggestions I am now going to go the route of deleting and then doing a fresh reinstall of both the DCS game and Graphics Card drivers. I'll check back in and let you know how it went. Cheers!
  6. Didn't work for me. I made sure the the graphics setting was on HIGH not VR, and I hit alt + enter to make sure it is in full screen, but no cigar. Thanks for the input, I'm open to any other suggestions since I have no idea what is wrong.
  7. Hey thanks WatermanPC - and thinkr, its a bit late tonight but I will try this fix tomorrow after work and check back in to let you both know how it worked. Cheers!
  8. Title says it all. I am playing the first mission in the Georgian Oil Campaign in the Su-25t. While following the Enroute to the AO as I pass the mountains to my left the frame rate slows down so much I can actually count it. (3-4 fps) The FPS gets better if I turn my view directly to the mountains - when I look forward in the cockpit again, it drops. I have no idea what is wrong, this graphics card is much better than my previous R9 290x GPU in every game except this one - on DCS it actually does worse! I have set graphics option down for the MSAA to x4 and Anisotropic filtering to x8. I also set cockpit resolution down to 512. Still no difference. Edit: All other settings at default HIGH preset. Edit2:It's only the environment FPS that slows, the cockpit seems to be unaffected. Anyone have any ideas? 9. GTX 1070 sux for me. I am happy with this new card for every other game except DCS. When flying the first mission in Su-25T Georgia Oil Campaign, as I fly past the hills on the left the environment FPS goes down to what I suspect must be below 10 fps. I watch it click click click the frames that's how slow it gets. I lowered MSAA to x4 and Anisotropic filtering to x8 and still the same. My last card the R9 290x worked better.
  10. "Why do you buy early access then?" I really didn't know it was early access. I should have been more careful. I came here to find out when the training missions and everything else that is on the list of features will actually be out. Also, if you are talking about DayZ, I never bought it. I have been a fan of Operation Flash Point and ArmA for a long time, so when DayZ standalone came out marketed to mostly naive kids during the big Zombie craze I was extremely skeptical, because I knew how glitchy OFP and ArmA was and how much of an effort it was for the user community to get Bohemia Interactive to make any meaningful improvements. When DayZ started making the same promises to the users when those promises weren't even met in the base game, I started posting that point in the Steam Forums. And, Baltic Dragon. They used to put out games with very few bugs quite fine before this whole "early access" thing. What, are you too young to remember? When people put out games, they either put out their own money upfront, or they had to convince investors who would have a very close look at the business plan and what the developers had in mind before they committed their money. Now devs can cut that process and get the consumers to buy early instead. In some cases that may be a good idea but I have to be honest I think in more cases than not the traditional way is a better deal for the consumer. So anyway, I am also here to find out when the training missions and the campaign will be out. But while I'm waiting I'm also voicing my opinions about this whole process in general. Sorry to be a party pooper.
  11. Have to say, I am also one that thinks this recent (like, last 10 years) trend of releasing digital products before they are finished is a bunch of BS. Sure, it's a way to help support the developers in the process, but it's also asking consumers to open themselves up for scam. I trust the DCS third party devs have more passion and respect for what they do to be above such things, but take for example DayZ on steam... 3 years later and it's still in early alpha... And what incentive do they have to finish it now that peak is sales is already way WAY past...and the original mastermind has already left the company? I was one of the vocal people that pushed Steam to at least put up a big banner telling people that there are no guarantees that a early alpha release will ever be finished just because consumers buy them...it used to be much smaller almost like fine print. Ah, i remember the days of my comments on Steam DayZ forums being deleted immediately by fanboy admins when I was only speaking the truth...some of the promises of fixes that DayZ was making just couldn't happen because I know I little about the relationship between Bohemia Interactive and the proprietary bits of the original Codemaster source codes... nuff said. But my point is...I really don't think it's good practice in general to sell something claiming to have features that isn't there yet...even with 100% good intentions...because there could be a nuclear war tomorrow and those promises might become impossible to keep and you know what they say survives after a nuclear war? Cockroaches and... LAWYERS!!
  12. Ok. I fly the ka50 mostly too, but with that the crosswinds start affecting the aircraft before I can even start shooting the vikhrs, so that may be why i didn't notice it much flying that. If that's how they are supposed to be then I can at least stop being frustrated and start thinking about other solutions. That is one thing about simulations, the more accurate they are its hard to tell sometimes if it's a flaw in the design of the game or a flaw (or limitation) in the design of the simulated object irl.... thanks for input
  13. Also having problems Su25T Vikhrs' I just found this recent thread as I came here frustrated by the vikhrs. I just had a run where out of 6 shots 6 missed, usually dropping way short. The mission where it most often happens is the first one in the Georgian Oil War campaign. The OP's sample youtube video I think shows that exact mission. This happens often, most prominently in the first mission of said campaign. It just happened so consistently just now that it motivated me enough to come to the forums about it for the first time (or, I may have posted about it once before). Usually there will be 1, 2, or 3 consecutive misses for one hit in that particular situation. 6 consecutive misses really got me flipping tables. I have no idea why this is happening, but it really affects my game. At first I thought it may be low light, because it usually happens when the virtual environment is cloudy or getting dark, but laser guided weapons should work even in the dark, like xaoslaad said, is that correct? Certainly the other laser guided weapons like the 29L, 25L, or 25mu works just fine even when I'm having problems with the Vikhr. It's gotten to the point where I often replace Vikhr's with a pair of 25L's or 25mu's since at least they hit. Edit:I read the post about the crosswind. Having doubts if that's actually what's happening, but will explore. If so, my next query is whether it's a bug or that's how vikhr's are in real life. Having doubts about it being that finicky IRL, it was Russia's premier AT weapon for a long time and if it failed to hit 50% or more because of a little crosswind I'm sure it would have been soon fixed or replaced....
  14. I also had the Steam version for a while. Just forget the Steam version and get the ED standalone. All your vehicles will transfer across. On the ED standalone, you will get early access and certain vehicles will become available much earlier. There literally is no reason to keep the Steam version, unless you are too lazy to download the ED version again.
