I'd quite happily take the SW rails on the caster positions and have be a "Gr.5" would be good enough given how, until we get the Typhoon or Tornado (both of which will be German variants), we have no RAF or RN aircraft post WW2.

I know it isn't an E variant but any time I think of the Phantom its usually in either the USN paint jobs of the 1960s and 70s or in this:

I realise I'm re-opening this a little but, I had a look around and I couldn't seem to find any discussions about the TGP and where it would be mounted on the aircraft (I appreciate this may not be the place to ask this, but I'll ask it anyway). I wasn't concerned as much with the F-16 having a targeting pod, but was more thinking along the lines that if it does come out for the aircraft where will it be mounted. Personally speaking I like doing A2G, and a lot of people want to turn this thing into a bomb cart. I dont really think it would be prudent to wing mount it, but rather if your taking the TGP mount it on the add on "fin" (dunno what else to call it) as shown in the photo? would that not be a far better mounting point that a hard-point on the wing?

I'd have to go with no for now, although it would be nice a lot further down the development line, like after say a Sea Harrier FRS.1 (cause you if your gonna do both at some stage might as well make it a Falklands War Pack... which would be rather awesome...)
