Not sure if this is in DCS, but only load visible +10nm of map depending on real world parameters. And only load aircraft models when inside visible range...all depending on height.
So at 1000ft, horizon is at 38.7 miles. No point loading in all the map if you cannot see it.
At 30,000ft, the horizon is 212.3 miles. So see more but at lower res (which is already featured)
So preload is auto based on height and visibility, and loads in outside of visible range as you move - removing what you cannot see or detect from the client. Perhaps this is already the case but if not would this improve performance further?
In essence, wouldnt matter how big the map is and could be the entire earth. Just a thought :book:
