  1. I get it. I don't want to master start up procedure, I just use the cheat. I don't want to master the radio communication, I just take off and land.
  2. I had a hard time figuring it out too. Since the F/A18C has short legs air refueling is an essential part of the F/A18C experience, so I was determined to learn. It is easier to dock a spaceship then to do an air refuel! So that is how I looked at it, it is like docking a spaceship in KSP. In a spaceship you turn on your thrust, then turn it off when you achieve your desired translation. Aircraft are different, you need to manually turn off the 'thrust'. For every action you have to do a counter action to correct. Want to increase your altitude pull on the stick, then push the stick to counter. Want to go faster, push the throttle forward, then pull the throttle back. Do everything in increments. Catch the basket then fly in close formation with the tanker. Make continuous adjustments, for every action do a counter action. Takes practice but once you get it down it is very rewarding. I still have trouble when the tanker is turning, why does it take so long for a tanker to turn?
  3. Thanks Steve and Wags, I will try your advice. Really not a big deal, but I appreciate you getting back to me. I would rather AI planes run out of fuel and bail then having the AI cheat with unlimited fuel. I am a programmer myself and I imagine it would be very difficult to program the AI to keep formation and conserve fuel. I have been a big fan of this series since the Lock On days. Have only really had time to learn to fly the F15 and P51 with proficiency, but still buy the other aircraft to help support the franchise and have a little fun. Looking forward to the Friday update:pilotfly:
  4. I am playing the 3rd mission and am having a great time doing it. I have played this mission a few times and my wingmen keep bailing out of their planes for no apparent reason. No battle damage, they are just ejecting. These planes are very expensive so this behavior does break the immersion a little. I have noticed that since I have to fly so far to the operation fuel conservation is much more of an issue than it was in DCS 1/1.5. My wingmen do not seem to be considering this and are using their afterburners all the time. I think what is happening is that they are running out of fuel and bailing. Am I doing something wrong?
  5. Nice gesture, would love the L-39.
  6. Las Vegas is very cool. I can see most of the major hotels and casinos but the Hard Rock is suspiciously absent. It supposed to be just north of McCarran International but I cannot find it for the life of me. If there is some trademark reason I would hope they would maybe replace the giant guitar with a saxophone or something.
