IIRC it's near the RWR power on switch.

They work just fine for me. Check you're not into a special Close Combat Mode, which sets the range at 10.

Are you sure marker beacons are related to ILS? If I remember correctly, the marker light flashes in my A10C even though I don't set nor activate my ILS

Will it be possible to have a French cockpit every time and not according to the nation?

I don't think you realise the amount of work being put behind each plane. It requires a good understanding of the DCS modeling tools, and a perfect knowledge of the plane - not just a good 3D model.
