  1. I'm confident that the F4 will be released when Heatblur is happy with the sim. Id rather they wait and get things sorted than release a bug ridden and unplayable mess. What Heatblur has set out to make is a huge jump in many areas of sim technology, and these things, understandably, take time, and as I've come to learn, deadline are never truly set in stone. . It saddens me to see people this upset over this.
  2. Hi! Im Goldeagle, A Phantom Phanatic! I'm looking for a group/ squadron/ community to fly/ WSO the F4 once its in early access. I have some experience with the A10, UH-1, KA50, FW190 D9. I enjoy WW2 to cold war aircraft and am not much of a more modern aircraft guy. I'm looking for a group that is willing to help me learn and improve. I don't know much in the way of tactical comm.'s and am admittedly a bit rusty in the dog fighting area as well. But I'm a quick learner and have worked in aviation for almost 10 years. I'm located in Michigan so a group with members on the east coast is a big plus.
  3. SgtPappy, many thanks for the info! I've always wondered what the t shaped antenna where on the APQ series dish! KlarSnow, thats some diggin you've done! JNelson, thats a great point!.
  4. To add to this, the navigation is old school by modern standards but pretty typical for the day. TACAN, ADF, VOR/ILS, and an inertial navigation system (INS) (controlled via the AN/ASN-46 panel in the WSO's pit). The INS gives aircraft lat long, bearing and distance to 2 stored targets, aircraft ground speed, magnetic ground track and drift angle. This all integrates into the HSI and ADI (as applicable). As for IFF, my sources show provisions and mentions of the APX-80 or APX-81 set as being installed, but as to how the system works/is integrated or if they were retained, I'm not sure.
  5. From the video I noticed a few things. -No AN-ANR-101 antennas or Target Identification System Electro-Optic (TISEO), so no DMAS (Digital Modular Avionics System) So judging from Iron Mikes FAQ post the birds used here represent the "Classic era" F4Es Super excited to see some internals and the late model airframe as well! null
