is this still true if our representative aircraft doesn't have TF, and thus no FLYUP program?
I'm not any kind of expert, just asking. Thanks.
Shouldn't it be capable of automatic TF by coupling to the digital terrain database? I know the digital terrain system can provide database terrain cueing (DBTC) in the HUD.

So I didn't include this image because this is a test aircraft from Edwards, as such it's not very compelling evidence IMO.
Fair, I just thought I would include it because it's a blk 50 bird.

The switch is there, but right now it seems all it does when in the covert modes is disable various external lighting.
-
Why did he arm the laser?
For TGP laser ranging, something that appears to not be functional at this time.

I’m glad they’re adding seeker bore sighting for realism, but I wouldn’t mind if this was a special option that we can enable or disable, sometimes I find it a bit tedious. Besides, do Mavericks lock onto anything but vehicles in DCS currently? Would make it hard to boresight.
They lock on to buildings as well currently.

We're still verrrrrry early access with the F-16 but eventually you should be able to do that just fine with DTOS and HMCS queing.

I find it impossible to believe that the harrier hornet f14 warthog can all designate system targets on the fly to attack but the viper cannot.

Once we get ground radar, snowplow will be infinitely easier to use. But until then we're stuck with snowplow at a fixed range.

I am still waiting for anybody to provide a FLIGHT MANUAL Diagram that says Viper can safely go over 800 kts on the deck, Lockheed engineers don't spit on their fingers, rise them in the air and set the limit... they have their reasons... if you can't everything else is a hearsay and useless.
Who is saying it can go safely above 800 knots? It seems like you're arguing yourself

This seems to have done the trick.
It seems all that did was remove the yellow tint on the yellow tint canopy option.

Change the plane's country to Israel

Don't aim for the most armored part of a tank.

I tested snowplow out some and it works fine for me. CCRP release data (SPI) correlates to the TGP when I exit snowplow wih a tms up or right.
My only issue is that the SPI reverts back to the selected steerpoint when you change master modes. IE switching to mrm override mode to scan the area causes the spi to revert to the steerpoint when you exit mrm override and go back to ground master mode.

And if BMS community has not already added such a feature, is it possible that it is not there?
I guess MIDS is not there.

I don't think that striving for being exact in what is simulated is a silly idea. But I also like to have options. So if our Viper variant was technically capable of employing the TFR, I am all for it to include it.
I agree with this statement. With that said though, our viper should have the digital terrain system which offers coupled autopilot terrain following just like the lantirn pod. The only thing missing in that case is the flir nav camera... which was made obsolescent by nvgs.
-
No lantirn nav pod but 16's did get an altitude map(Digital Terrain System) that kind of made the lantirn nav pod obsolescent, in addition to offering terrain and obstacle avoidance cues and passive bomb ranging like the A-10.

Also when do you use the dogfight/missile override switches vs the a-a/a-g buttons on icp?
When you don't want to take your hands off your hotas.

The cockpit and avionics for this specific model should be different. I guess this unit has two glass display in the cockpit.
There was a glass cockpit version.

You have crew chiefs in this thread telling you that they never loaded it and never trained to load it and you still want it? It’s a slippery slope to make concessions like that because when the next plane comes along people are going to look at the precedent you set and ask for an unrealistic configuration.
So don't load them on your jet.

I'm hoping Kiowa will bring more RW pilots into the fold and make it easier for things like BS3 to get prioritized.
+1
Of all the FW aircraft in progess or planned, I'm still more excited for the upcoming kw and bs3 upgrade.

I hate all the obsession with super modern helicopters. Plus who knows how much guesswork they would have to do with the longbow radar.

I didn't know APKWS was in service on the f18 during the mid 2000s which is the timeframe of the f18 we've got.

Going to be interesting when they make the wing tank pylons jettison as part of the tanks.

That is just the default list. It has been stated that they will be releasing the codes for more radars as well.
