Key Bindings not saving between sessions GeForce Now

How about this instead, ED and GFN get on the same page for a product they agreed to be listed on that service, and either remove the product, or fix the issue? -

Key Bindings not saving between sessions GeForce Now
Terribletwo replied to sjpateys's topic in General Bugs
#1, I am VERY familiar with the issue. GFN is not saving any changes to the directory on their server side that DCS uses for saved .lua files. The location of the directory is where the .lua config files are saved. All keymappings, graphics settings, log in details, EVERYTHING. Every time you play, you have to reset it ALL. It's like youre very first time setting up your keymappings each and every time. ED and GFN both know this is unacceptable, but neither cares a flip. #2, ED does not care about this issue. I sent a ticket to support and they replied, sorry DCS is not meant to be on GFN, and the settings will not save to the GFN game platform. This, despite the fact that ED has authorized their game to be on Steam (yes I know that not the same as GFN), but if they didn't allow DCS to be on GFN, then why aren't they sending a demand to be removed from GFN? Because $$$$$$$$. More sales, and they don't care a flip their keymappings aren't being saved correctly. #3, when a new user sees DCS on GFN, they of course will subscribe to Ultimate and pay extra for "persistent storage" of which they will need at least 500 GB because DCS needs well over 200 GB to install. This is the "Install to Play" feature on GFN where you can play games that do not have a Steam Cloud save system, which of course is DCS. So you pay more but yet it DOES NOT SAVE like its supposed to. #4, Pay $$$ for modules on Steam. Buy the A10 II, go into game, spend 15 minutes setting up your keymappings, play, exit, and then go back to play only to find out you have to reset it all again. But its wonderful that ED, Steam, and GFN get your money for the module, that you will likely never play again because of the hassle of resetting EVERY THING each and every time. #5, there is currently no fix, until either ED or GFN allows a fix. Don't waste your time or money any further with GFN. -
I guess I just assumed everybody was already very familiar with Falcon's Dogfight mode. It been part of F4 since it's first release. I don't know maybe someone will create a mod someday that will recreate it.
 -
The dogfight mode in Falcon 4 is more than that though. If you get shot down you respawn right away. If you shoot the enemy aircraft down, it respwns a new one. It's a perpetual dogfight..
 -
No. The purpose of dogfight mode is to see how one aircraft performs against another. If you're unfamiliar with Falcon 4, then I suggest maybe checking it out. It's slick, it's fast, and it serves the purpose to see how you as a pilot, or you and your particular aircraft perform against another particular aircraft. Messing with date time and all that other stuff is irrelevant.
 -
Yes. That's what the Dogfight mode is in Falcon BMS. Surprised DCS is lacking such a basic option.
 -
Unfortunately that's not what I had in mind. We should be able to have a dog fight mode like in Falcon 4, where you can quickly select the enemy aircraft type. You can also quickly select the loadout and distance from each other with a simple slider.
 -
I know how to set up a quick mission etc.. We have to go in and select the flight, and change the type of aircraft. But I was wondering if there's a mod or if there's a way to set up a very quick furball mission where you can actually select the type of enemy aircraft? In Falcon BMS this is done very quickly with a drop-down menu for the enemy aircraft type.

P47 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75RwPrdAej8&feature=youtu.be Ima getting tasty excited.

Like most every airplane during WW2, there is NO standard version. What does one consider standard anyway? The official production version? Sorry that doesn't work either. Production versions weren't always in service the way that their manufacturers intended due to field modification, and/or shortage of parts, among other reasons. Additionally, all you joystickers are flying the planes not how they were historically flown in large part. Most of you guys would have blown the engine the first 2 minutes of combat, or crashed, or passed out. DCS should focus solely on how the planes were used in real combat, not pipedreams of a 390 mph P51 on the deck.

More P51's because it is a cheaper module. So for new pilots, they buy the P51 to see what DCS ww2 fighters are all about. That's the facts in a nutshell. On a different note, when I fly instant missions the maps that come up are glorious. But the WW2 server here has that ugly winter drab terrain and even when its summer it looks less interesting than the terrains you see when flying instant missions. I don't know what the maps are since I'm relatively new, but all I know is that the current map is ugly.

So I tried the russian made sound mod on the ED user files site, it's ok, not whiny enough for me. I also have Diveplane's version 3.0, awesome exterior sound, but in cockpit it's a little "thin" sounding? If that makes sense.. so for now I guess it will have to do. There's another on youtube from a guy called Josh Loar, but it's not available for download at the moment. Are those the three good choices we have for the P51 Merlin engine?

Relative performance of the Mustang, the 109 and the 190

Wow, I was warned about this place before registering, and boy were they right.... Balance is what we need, PERIOD. Concerning multiplayer, it should be pilot skill vs pilot skill, and be sure to realistically match the aircraft so each pilot has an assortment of realistic tools at his disposal. As far as historical is concerned, what is the criteria for something to be "historical"? If one P51 had 75" manifold then does that make it historical? Do youneed to P51's? If not, what about 10 P51's. What if a rebel mechanic decided his pilot wanted 81" - should we model that since there was at least one P51 with that high of pressure? The point I am making is that "historical" only matters to a point, because ANYTHING is nearly possible as far as history goes. There's always gonna be one pilot who tweaked his rig more than another... Is that then considered historical?? No, what we need is balance. PERIOD. Otherwise, nobody will play online. -

I flew the P51 online numerous times without a single kill. I bought the Dora after 20 or so missions in the P51 and immediately got 2 kills in my first sortie, online. This proves something in my mind. 1- getting a kill in WW2 was difficult. online games where folks land with 5 kills every other sortie is absurd and unrealistic. It took numerous missions to get a kill. 2- shows how crappy german pilots were, generally speaking. I'm a crappy pilot and I'd been dead my first P51 mission in WW2. But the Dora in the hands of a crappy pilot like me resulted in two kills. 3- The Dora in the hands of american pilots would have been a slaughter x2. Imagine February 1945, you just jumped down from your Cessna training mission and your commander says, now take that Dora and go kill P51's...That was pretty much the state of german pilots by then, with few exceptions.
