  1. I tried it and now at least we spawn at the rear parking spots. But for a start from parking you only want 1 AI wingman. 3&4 started at the front of the boat and wouldn't taxi to the rear & number 2 wouldn't take off because number 3 or 4 was blocking the runway.

    I did a vertical take off, circled back and strafed all of them for being dumb****s.

    Still it is progress for what is probably the most complicated runway in the sim so thank you Razbam & ED.

  2. In fact, I wonder what that percentage was for the Russian Air Force during Georgia/Ukraine/Syria.

    Still extremely low by US standards.

    It's doctrinal, they seem to prefer to have the means to drop unguided munitions with great accuracy with hence SVP-24.

    Makes sense to have the expensive stuff on the plane that can be used more than once instead of on the bomb/rocket with a one time use.

    Plus you don't want to be dropping bombs with a 6 figure price tag onto second hand Toyotas

  3. Health to all. Please tell me when you plan to finish the MiG23 robot? I really look forward to this module from you!

    by "robot" do you mean работы? If yes then the word you are after is "work" :thumbup:

  4. So, do you mean we have to be quiet?

    Sorry, but no. I understand that RAZBAM is not involved in everything related to the simulator problems. But as players and customers of RAZBAM we must ask for the errors to be corrected, errors that remain for months, and if RAZBAM cannot solve them, it is they who should ask ED to fix them. But with our silence, that chain brokes.

    It is not a question of asking for the "murder" of anyone, but of pressing for these errors to be corrected. We have paid for the modules, therefore we have the right to behave as clients and if the requests are made correctly and politely there should be no problem.

    I'm not sure if english is your first language as you don't seem to have comprehended correctly.

    No, don't be silent about bugs. But at the same time don't post the same complaints again and again in every thread.

    Melodramatic, exaggerated and repetitive posts discredit any issues they are attempting to address.

  5. Thanks, very useful information! :thumbup: I knew that the R-800L1 VHF radio was paired with the ARK-22 ADF, but I had no idea how to use this in the game, because I did not know how to correctly set the VORs in the mission editor.

    Probably when assigning frequencies for the VORs in the mission editor, should you take into account the R-800L1 radio frequencies, which in the DCS: Ka-50 are 100.000–149.975MHz and 220.000–399.975MHz?

    Yes but keep in mind that if your mission has any user flaming cliffs aircraft, which cannot tune their radios, they will constantly hear anything being broadcast on the VHF and UHF bands.

    High and medium frequencies fortunately seem to be safe despite Su-25 and Su-27 having radios that operate in these ranges.

  6. ...

    I was experimenting with the radio transmission, as a radio direction finder. I can tune the R800 to the unit that I have assigned a radio transmission, the 828 unit will only tune to NDB's.

    ...

    Anyway, regarding the radio as RDF. I find that I loose the station after I have tuned to my wingmen. When I try to re acquire the RDF transmission, I find it's disappeared? To clarify what I'm doing, I have assigned the RDF radio to a "rescue" helicopter, transmitting a looped message on 255 am at 50w. The rescue helo is flying alongside the Tarawa!

    Ultimately this really is not necessary, since I learnt yesterday, that you can request azimuth bearings from your carrier. The ATC then replies with the azimuth and the RDF needle on the HSI briefly moves to the bearing. I live and learn!...

    ARK-22 is for NDBs. However the R-800 V/UHF radio has a supplementary ADF function.

    When the ATC replies to you over the radio the R-800 linked ADF is homing on their transmission. This is why it is momentary.

    The best way to make a homing signal on a carrier with the ME is to use a moving zone and radio transmission (from zone) in the trigger menu

    Choose a frequency within the operating limits of the ARK-22, 150kHz - 1750kHz. (0.150 - 1.750MHz) and adjust the ARK-22 presets accordingly.

  7. What rossmum said.

    The bugs introduced each OB are squashed in a week or two.

    Stable might have a better bug free experience in the core game but because of the infrequency bugs that affect individual modules can linger for much longer.

  8. OFST - Offset. I think you've all seen this mode before in the A-10C and F-14B. It separates the threats out in a circular pattern about the centre of the display. You loose threat azimuth information in doing so.

    PRI - Priority. It opens a sublevel menu where the buttons on the right side become from top to bottom; NORM, AI, AAA, UNK, FRND. The selected mode will be reflected in System Status Area 1 - where the "N" sits.

    N = NORM

    I = AI (Airborne Intercept - other aircraft radars)

    A = AAA

    U = UNK

    F = FRND

    The RWR display will also return back to the top level display once a mode is selected.

    LIM - Limited. When boxed limits the RWR to display the top 6 threats. And "L" will also appear to the right of the "N" in the centre.

    BIT - Built in test.

    ECM - This shouldn't appear unless you got to the RWR page via a specific button. If you go from the main menu to the RWR display it shouldn't appear.

    Great info thanks! :thumbup:

    What is FRND? Friend? Only shows friendly radars or filters out friendly radars?

    Having the PRI function would be extremely useful!

  9. Virtually all Soviet fighters did. It was a required feature. The reason the MiG-23 has such insanely engineered landing gear was to fit wide-track, rugged gear into such a slim fighter, with no ability to fold it into the wings due to being variable geometry.

    Even Soviet airbases were extremely austere compared with Western ones - forget about FOD walks, the runway was often made of uneven pavers, unkempt grass and crap lying around everywhere, etc. DCS doesn't really do them justice.

    If you look at them with satellite view on Google maps they look like no one has even mowed the grass since Soviet times.

  10. There's varying degrees of hidden I'd expect. The one I was talking about originally is truly hidden - as in you can't find it once below ~10k feet but it really looks like a strip from ~25k feet. If I get time I'll try to get some snappies of it.

    There's lots of those, just check next to almost every NDB.VOR

  11. The Kuz can access the black Sea thru a loophole , however short of breaking international treaties , the nato carriers can't transit the Turkish straits to the black sea

    Give it time. I'm sure a certain someone has the Montreux Convention on their list of "international agreements to rip up".

  12. Had to run some tests to check this, and indeed Chaparral is only a threat to slow moving and loitering aircraft (Helicopters, circling fixed wing)

    Strela-10M > Avenger > Chaparral > Strela-1

    Capability gap between Strela-10M & Avenger is not very big but Chaparral is miles behind.

    Strela-1 is only a danger to Helicopters and only from rear aspect.

  13. OSB 12 has a PRI mnemonic, which I assume is for Priority, but, guess what? It doesn't work..... :music_whistling:

    Four, presumably mode buttons. None have any function. ALT doesn't have any function in DCS so never mind that one.

    OFST I suppose separates overlapping contacts.

    PRI & LIM I guess filter them by threat level/type??

  14. Pointless, Razbam cannot get the basics right with their existing modules re AV8B and sort out simple keybinds (MFD brightness) and FLIR lighting issues and the HUD.

    Some of the issues reported been dragging on 2 years now.

    Will not be investing anymore into this developer until their customer communication on these forums dramatically improves along with them being able to retain coding team.

    No need to repeat yourself in every thread.

  15. I wanted to write something you need to tune in the MiG21 in the radio itself so that I can be heard. Or is everything tuned in already?

    attachment.php?attachmentid=237767&stc=1&d=1590827390

    Use the SRS overlay to check you are tuned into and broadcasting on the right frequency.

    For the MiG-21 that would currently be 124MHz, usually tuned to channel 00 on the P-832 otherwise channel 09.

    If others are connected to that frequency it will be displayed where I have drawn a white circle.

  16.

    I never said I'm not open to the idea of limiting lives. I was only trying to work around that testing out different scenarios. I guess it's about time I introduce limiting lives to the server. I'll have to get my head around that soon.

    You could try limiting the number of aircraft available at the airfield BUT replenish the numbers slowly by having the base re-supplied by either another airfield or a warehouse.

    Burn through all (X amount) of (Y aircraft) in 45mins? Too bad, next one is 15 mins away.
