  1. Blue Flag does not simulate any proper time period because where the hell did you saw A-10C's flying in the cold war? Blue Flag is simply just a scenario the guys over at Buddy Spike thought would make an interesting match.
  2. I was repeating you, so if I am childish then so are you. And you don't represent Buddy Spike nor Blue Flag either so your words don't mean anything either. Careful as personal attacks are against the rules of this forum. Behave like an adult and counter banter with banter.
  3. This is incredible, Blue Flag has changed so much its unrecognizable! What happened? It wasn't like this 30 years ago! This unbalance is incredible and I refuse to adapt my tactics and strategies but I will whine here! Has there been a physical turnover of people managing the server? No one who's been around since Round 1 can say this is a good start to round 10 (even though round 10 never started in the first place). Well sorry maybe a bunch on the red side might say its great like this. I think I learned how this community works.
  4. 1. Each round there is a different scenario with a different aircraft setup and its up to the Buddy Spike team not us here. The problem lies that the testing has been going on for quite some time but the BS team is doing their best as they can in their free time. ED doesn't really help when they break missions with each update. 2. What else will you do? Adapt your strategies and tactics against superior numbers. You cannot play offensively (you can still try) with the KA-50 when you don't own the skies near the target area. If the enemy is pushing for your airbase with superior numbers do you think it is a good idea to hit that closest FARP to your airbase? That's where their helos are coming from and their fighters are protecting them, its suicide. Better thing to do in a KA-50 is hide in a city near the airbase and wait for their helos until they get close enough for your ATGM's. You just forced 30 players to scramble another helo and bought your airbase precious time. 3. GCI and good communication is critical in both offense and defence. As stated before you can still go A-G but don't expect mercy when you assault and don't own the skies.
  5. Its your fault for flying a helo straight into enemy fighters and expect it to survive. Even more with no comms and no GCI to inform you what is happening around you. Its the RED teams fault for not having communication and a dedicated GCI, instead of moaning why not go GCI? The role is critical in both offense and defence. BF is still one of the most popular servers and we still help people, like now we just told you not to suicide with an attack helo when you have 15 enemy fighters near you area. You should adapt to the battlefield - if there are too many fighters chances of your survival are slim and its better to use another role to help the team. BF didn't change, players got more experienced. Now stop being a drama queen. As I said, a good idea would be to make the side choosing happen on every restart so players can switch each round to balance it out, but this complicates matters with other scripts.
  6. GCI can tell you who your opponent is so kill messages are redundant. It also alerts everyone on both teams who is doing something and where. What prevents you from asking what the objective is on either TS or SR? You have the livemap on the Buddy Spike website, the PC desktop app, TS and SR and you need even more handholding? If the enemy outnumbers you is it a good idea to push with helos? No. The only helo work in those circumstances is flying an Mi-8 and setting up defences near airfields and other objectives.
  7. You have the 104th for that or your own server. Proper server settings for Blue Flag should be: -no chat box -no F10 map position -no kill messages -no status popup messages The problem with player numbers would be reduced if the side selection script would be for each server restart instead of the whole testing phase/round.
  8. SimpleRadio + GCI is your solution, if you don't know what you are assaulting then the problem is not the server since it has website and Windows gadget that tracks the status of ground objetives.
  9. Instead of arguing about balance you should report bugs and errors. We have over 100 pages and I bet over 70 of them are about balance. Can someone really check the EWR scripts/stations? While on Blue GCI I could detect RED fighters taking off from Maykop even though there was no LOS from any unit and no radar illumination from any fighter, EWR or anything. Can we disable the reporting of the objective status and anything else? The thing is constantly poping up even though nothing is happening and I doubt anyone is checking the PAK Intel every 2 minutes. Could be a bug again. And for the last, if people are complaining about numbers, can we set the side selection on for every restart instead of the whole round/testing phase? I don't know how many other scripts brings this down...
  10. You bring up a very important point regarding communication/organization. People like to bring up numbers like its predetermined that the team with higher numbers wins, but they fail to understand that that number does not represent only fighters. The team with higher numbers does play offensively (because hey there is more of us!) but offense requires a certain amount of strikers, helos plus fighters who are available at the start of the push and fighters who are available to relieve them when they are low on fuel or ordnance. This requires major coordination and timing of assets on the team that is pushing, which becomes worse the further away the AO is. The more time goes for coordinating assets and reaching the target area, the more time the defending team has to dig in with SAMs at the suspected target and this requires the tasking of more strikers. Basically you need to create an air tasking cycle and orders to keep the group organized and this is not possible without a GCI (this is more of an AOC/CRC/AWACS role really) who understand aerial warfare. Also this type of coordination would be almost impossible without proper communication tools like SimpleRadio even though some people claim TeamSpeak still being superior.
  11. People still use Teamspeak? What year is this? 1947?
  12. Someone put a RED ship into the mountains 30nm north of Sochi that is engaging aircraft passing by...
  13. Server almost went down and for most people it crashed around 1800-1900Z time on 12th FEB . Can anyone check the logs?
  14. Any ping limits soon? We have people with over 250ms ping on the server...
  15. Yes they are all still playing on 1.5.5
  16. Ladies its time to update to 1.5.6.1938.247
  17. 9th February 2017 16:54:28 zulu Server down as it is not appearing on the master server list and gadget?
  18. How is setting up whisper channels and shortcuts better than SR? In SR you tune into one frequency and that is it while in TS you need to setup which key to what channel etc.
  19. If you have more than 20 people in a TS channel with different roles, positions and with different brevity knowledge levels (or any at all) it becomes chaos. SR solves this problem as you can have 3 radios with a nice GCI/flight radio setup and one radio in reserve if you want to contact someone without annoying anyone on GCI frequency.
  20. Are helo dropped EWR stations even working? Most of the time when I join as a GCI and a helo deploys an EWR, there is almost no improvement of the radar picture even if I switch slots and all the other voodoo magic required. Can an admin look into it perhaps? Thank you in advance.
  21. Please understand the difference between CAS, AI and OCA.
  22. Quality ED patching breaking scripts again. The mission maker is on vacation and can't fix it at the moment. Give it a week.
  23. It is possible but requires very good ground-air coordination, strict safety procedures with strict final attack headings as the missile can go where it detects the strongest laser beam - the source. I don't think this is even simulated in DCS.
  24. A laser code is a laser pulse repetition frequency (PRF) and those are classified. The chances of Northrop Grumman to share these with the Kamov Design Bureau or the company that made the Shkval system are zero. Also keep in mind that the SU-25T Shkval in DCS is total guesswork and should not have the LST capability.
  25. Western and Eastern targeting systems/laser designators are not compatible with each other.
