Hello. I have had my quest 3 for almost a year now and never had any issues. A few days ago, the meta app on my pc said an update was available so I initiated the update and never had any problems with any previous updates. It got stuck in an update loop, it would never finish installing the update so I followed the meta instructions and initiated what they called a side load through the quest 3 boot screen. When I did that nothing happened, the headset would not turn off so I had to do a factory reset to get it to shut off. I got it up and running again and going through the process of tweaking this ....... thing, back to once it was. My issue, I can not seem to resolve, as it comes and goes, is this: I load into a server, all is fine, I load into an aircraft and the movement is jittery when I turn my head, like its skipping. So I release my a/c and go into another and same thing...I figure it will prob smooth out, so I start my engine and when I look at the prop spinning (F4U) it looks pixelated, but not small or large pixels, but bigger than you would expect if that makes sense. And I must clarify, through all the tweaking and respawning, the pixelated prop thing would not happen until I would release that a/c and re-enter the same one. I tried MSAA, DLSS with DLAA, FSR, etc...rebooted both my pc and headset...prob still returns. Any help would be appreciated. i5 13600k (liquid cooled) Asus rtx 4080 super Asus prime z690m 96g ddr4

Virtual Task Force 58 (WWII) Open Recruitment
Whiskey1968 replied to Foxtrot2571's topic in World War II Squadrons
Are you still active and recruiting? -
I simply bind to wheel brakes in dcs (i use those as brakes with a modifier) That is what I have done currently. But, binding as a button is full brakes or no brakes. I want to be able to apply Suttle brake when needed in turns. I just feel that having an axis as toe brakes would be better than a button press...half brakes as apposed to full brakes.

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to set the 2 front paddles on my throttle as toe brakes. I have watched the videos and nothing directly pertains to the paddles. I read forums and found nothing. If someone could explain how to do this step by step (afraid I will something up on the throttle) it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am an idiot when it comes to using programs like this lol and thank you for any help.

Yeah, never knew I even done it lol. Oh well, crisis averted. Thanks again. -
Key Binds randomly stop working in CPG seat

It was a key bind set to a modifier. Not sure how that happened but it was the issue. Thanks for the info my friend, greatly appreciated. -
Key Binds randomly stop working in CPG seat
Whiskey1968 replied to Whiskey1968's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I have not flown in almost a year. Never knew that about the servers disabling easy comms. I will change some binding to check that out. Thank you . As for the TADS, I did turn PNVS on initially, but put the switch in the off position after. Could that have somehow interrupted the key bind? I will test without PNVS today when I get home and see if that was the culprit. Thank you!!! Ah ok, so a modifier is like CNTRL, ALT, Shift and separated by left or right as well? I will check this as well. Thank you -

As stated in the title. I go through all the start up procedure for the pilot, set the MFD's up as if I was to fly it, throttle up to flight power then jump into the CPG seat and start setting up things back there. Call for rearm and refuel and comms work fine for the time being. Set the MFD's, and go to set the TEDAC up and when I try the key bind for TADS on my Apache grip (Virpil Collective base without twist throttle) its a no go for TADS. Try using the switch in game by clicking it with my mouse and still a no go. Link, HMD and FCR work fine. Also, noticed the keyboard command and the key bind on my stick for communication menu doesn't work coinciding with the TADS switch failure. Tried calling ATC for a Hover check to find out the binds don't work. At this point, I was getting tired of trying (4 previous tries of going through the full start up and mission set up only to be grounded by key bind failures). I looked to make sure now dual key binds are assigned, checked my controls connection to the pc, checked the joysticks, throttle quadrant and collective buttons and axis in their individual software (VKB and Virpil) and all works fine. Everything worked fine in any other game or program i used. I read some earlier posts regarding this problem and haven't found a solution. Any ideas, suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Whiskey

As the post says, I am looking to upgrade either my vid card, cpu or both depending on cost and availability. Currently running an Intel i5 12600K, Rtx 3070 FTW 8gb, Prime Z690M-Plus D4, Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 DDR4 (32gb but have 64 ordered). I have the quest 3 and looking to jack up my performance and achieve some stable fps in the Apache. Other aircraft I can maintain a fair fps of 45-50 and sometimes 70 depending on map and server. But the Apache flatlines my fps to unplayable numbers. I would share my settings in game and my desktop but I am away at work. But they are lowered to low settings in all but textures in game. I am looking at upgrading my vid card to an RTX 4070ti Super. Or should I look at doing RTX 4070 ti and upgrading the CPU. Budget is roughly $1300...and with that what would you recommend because I am going down a rabbit hole that will get me divorced lol. Thanks for any help.

I got it figured out. It was the VR Desktop that was the issue. And yes, it did run ..smooth may be an over statement (you could really see a difference between what is was and what i get now without VR Desktop) but there was no freezes, lag or glitches and it looked pretty bad outside the cockpit. I know, I'm baffled at that myself. I am flying using the cable link rather than the airlink. Thanks for the reply though. Had a friend on discord helped me through the process and proper set up. Again, thanks for the reply.

Currently, I get between 18 and 23 FPS. Its smooth with no jitters, tearing or artifacts. When I first enter and sit in the Apache, I am upwards of 45 to 50fps but it drops very quickly. PC is about 1.56 years old now. But i would like to maintain a modest 30-40fps if its possible. Hello, I have recently returned to DCS (about a month ago, maybe a little more), in that time I have installed, and reinstalled dcs on my pc about 3 times. I have a new PC coming in about a week or 10 days. I had installed the stable version as well, but now only have the open beta. How can I see how many activations I have left. I went into my account on the website and into the orders and details but there is no indication there of how many activations are left. Do you use activations for reinstalling on the same PC? Do you use them up for installing open beta or only in the stable version? Thanks in advance!!

Hi folks, I need some help. This problem only started today, never had it before. I installed a mod today, the smoke and fire mod (latest version), ran a training mission with no problems, ran a regular mission no problems and created a fast mission for ramp start and set flight systems. Now I get stuck in loading screen when trying to access the training menu. Any word on this problem happening before? How to solve it? Thanks for any help. Whiskey

Finally....got it working thanks to you chaps. I uninstalled everything to do with DCS from the pc. Started fresh from the beginning. Followed the same steps as before "to the letter" or keystroke if you will. Voila, it worked this time.....guess third time lucky, maybe files were corrupt (although only got that message after the first time) or just some failure but most likely human error at some point :music_whistling:. In any case, I have it working now and looking forward to jumping back into the cockpit and moving some mud. Been a while...since FC2 since I flew jets. Bring on the pain of humiliation learning this beast :book: Thanks again folks. Whiskey
